DONT BUY THESE AID!

I purchased in 2021. Had problems from datone. Had them replased several time because they didnt work. Now that my 3 year warrenty is up they suddenly dont work at all. I have to wait until 2024 for my insurance to replace. But it will not be with this company. BE WARE THIS IS A SENIOR CITIZEN SCAM AT ITS BEST.

BATTERY FAILURE

My warranty expired 3 weeks ago. Just this week my Eargo 5 batteries both failed. I performed all of the recommended procedures for resurrecting the batteries and nothing worked. Contacted Eargo and, for the first time, informed me that the batteries are not replaceable and that it would cost me $790. to replace the units. So, in addition to losing my initial payment ($2500.) They want to extract another $790 from me. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT THE EARGO 5 BATTERIES WERE NOT REPLACEABLE, I WOULD NEVER HAVE PURCHASED THEM.

Right hearing aid

I called aweek ago or more because my right hearing aid was dead. The customer service person told me to take the bottom piece off and clean it, brush it. I did and now cant get the bottom piece back on. Can you advise me how to reattach it ? . I did not use the aid continously after I received it, so I only used it for collectively a week or so. Once I get the piece back on I dont see how Im going to routinely take it off to clean it. Thank you, Merridee Marcus

Problem with eargo hearing aids

I had sent them back for repair 6 times and after a few weeks they stop working again. I just got tired of the problems and making call about them not working. They keep saying that I am not cleaning them enough, but I did not have them long enough or wear the must to get dirty, plus I was cleaning them every day besides.

Lost plug in for charging my eargo

Misplaced eargo plug in charger so can I buy a new plugin charger? You have sold me.more than one eargo.

Totally upset and aggravated with Eargo 6's.

I purchased the Eargo 6 a few months ago, as an upgrade after wearing the Eargo Neo's for about 4 years. The Neo's never really gave me any problems, but the Eargo 6's construction is horrible!!! I have had the caps on the end fall off or come off when trying to remove the unit from my ear. I have had the little plastic pulls on the end of the Eargo 6 come off when trying to remove the unit from my ear. I never had this problem with the Neo's. I sent a messages to Eargo about these things and they were replaced however, it was no time until the same thing with the plastic pulls happened again. I was also sent a replacement unit for one of my Eargo 6's and it didnt' work at all, and the plastic pull fell off of it! What is going on here!!! I AM CURRENTLY WEARING BOTH EARGO 6'S THAT WORK, BUT NEITHER OF THEM HAVE THE PLASTIC PULL ON THE END BECAUSE THEY FELL/BROKE OFF. I HAVE TO PULL THEM OUT OF MY EARS WITH TWEEZERS WHEN I TAKE THEM OFF FOR THE NIGHT!!! THAT'S RIDICULOUS. I also believe I have been receiving used EARGO 6 products that have been sent back to you because of problems, and you pass them on to the next consumer. I love my Eargo Neo's but what I am going through with these Eargo 6's, doesn't make sense. I need a solid solution for this problem because I need my hearing aids!!!

You advertised 24/7 customer service. Why then do i get referred to another company for answer to my question?

just wanted to know which side of the charger if left and which is right. will charging in the wrong slot damage the units?

which is the right side on the charger? does charger recognize which is left or right? Will the earphones be damaged if charged in the wrong slot?

Hearing aid not working

I called yesterday and explained the problem, I called previously and went through all the parodical to fix the problem , but nothing worked. I need a new set. They will not go off level 1. I can't hear! Please help I was given a case # but I don't have it with me. I was told I would receive an email with directions to exchange them but I haven't received it. Thank You William Davis

Really poor-quality devices.

Within 60 days the charger quit working. They replaced it. Then the left side stopped responding to tap procedure. They replaced it. Then the replacement stopped responding. They replaced it. Now the right side has stopped responding. They say they will replace them both. Customer support is great/responsive, but the product is way short of dependable.

I did what you suggested and everything is good...Gave everything a good cleaning and left hearing aid came back to life.

I was trying to reach customer service to commend the associate who helped me the most with my issues.. She was professional, kind and patient throughout! I suggested that she get a raise or a promotion. Soo-the email I sent apparently never went to the correct department!! Next time Ill call!

Faulty device

1 device was not working. Spoke to rep who tried to solve issue and then to sales on replacement and or newer style.

Eargo fails its customer

update 9-9-2022-- Eargo has done absolutely nothing to try to remedy the failure of its hearing aids and the App that controls them.

Customer Service states they are aware of the APP not working with my phone and numerous other newer phone models, but they are not doing anything to correct at this time, and that I should consider buying a older model phone. They will not refund as a warranty defect.

Purchased Eargo Neo HiFi aids and loved the small discreet size and sound. Eargo shortly after came out with Eargo 5, so I purchased a second pair being the Eargo 5. NO TRADE IN or CREDIT is provided for upgrading even thought they come out with new versions in short time frames. The Eargo 5's definitely perform smoother and more refined then the Neo HiFi's. The APP is a key to the Eargo success in my opinion and what makes them stand far apart from their competitors. HOWEVER, the BAD then comes out and shows the company's lack of concern for the customer and their deceptive practices. The Eargo APP does not work with some of the most common phones used in todays market. AND does NOT work with one of the largest cell phone sellers today, Samsung Galaxy. Phones such as the latest Galaxy 22 Ultra, my phone, or the other Samsung 22 line up. I understand it does not work with some Google phones also as well as other brands. Eargo does NOT PUBLISH or Notify in any of their sales materials this fault in their product. No One from Eargo told me that the APP would not work with my Samsung 22 Ultra 5g, one of the top modern phones today. Eargo still fails to inform people of this pitfall. Worst part of all this is that EARGO DOES NOT STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCT and WILL NOT REFUND. Eargo also has plan to correct these issues and still to this day after months and months of this failure refuses to publish in their advertising the failure of their product with certain phones. If the eargo shuts off from a loud bang or noise, there is absolutely no way to turn the eargo back on without returning it to the charger for a brief time and removing it again. Also you can NOT control the Eargo in any way from the APP as described, whether in the charger or not. Eargo claims to have a workaround that if you call someone on the cell phone and while they are on the phone, you make a change with the APP, that it will work. This will give you one click and then disconnect the call. Eargo will NOT provide a number to call to do this with. So try explaining this to a friend you may call from a boardroom table in a business meeting??? Keep in mind that I LOVED MY EARGO's for hearing quality, but they are basically useless $2800.00 hearing magnifiers without the APP and for that you can buy equivalent for $99.00. I call this deceptive trade practices and possibly an attorney will take this on as a class action lawsuit. I am checking on that approach.

Eargo is great

My wife and I very much enjoy our Eargo 6 hearing aids. The customer service was great, the price is high but cheaper than in a store, and they are invisible in the ears. We now can sit anywhere in a theatre and be assured of hearing the dialogue. We can hear each other in crowded restaurants. They do take about 10 days to 2 weeks to feel natural. But working with the certified Eargo trainers by telephone we worked through those days and now we sometimes forget we have them in and get out of bed to take them out before sleep!
