DNA My Dog Reviews

2/5

The results that were given on my dogs test must have been selected by a dart board. 92 percent Chihuahua!!!!!

No one and I mean ?NO ONE who looks at this dog even remotely sees Chihuahua. Let alone 92 percent. I followed the directions on the box, sent off the two swabs, received the results, contacted them and they still stand by their test. See photo of my dog below. These people are crooks.I wish I had read their other reviews before I fell for the cheap price. You get what you pay for...

Two stars for customer return emails

My dog was tested twice and came up with a breed that is certainly nothing to do with him. there is no way in *** that my dog is a great Dane!

Terrible. Service, A RIP OFF

I have a German Shepherd (I seen the mother dog). DNA my dog said my dog was Rottweiler and Chow. I told them they are crazy ! They sent a second test at my request and same results were given. They need to refund my money !!!!!! Do not use this company ! They will rip you off !!!!!!!!

WARNING TO OTHERS!

Knowing that the parent of at least one dog was a specific breed (Catahoula Leopard) and not getting any percentage of verification on the test just makes me feel this was a total waste of time, effort and especially money. We had two dogs tested and neither of the test results made sense at all - like our 38 pound dog was part St. Bernard?? Just a disappointing con.

Much difficulity registering my dog's dna test

I have tried over an hour to register for my dog's dna test, which I have completed and just today sent the swabs to you. Never has it asked for my customer ID number which it says is necessary to register. I have numerous times attempted to call customer service at the two listed numbers but only get a recording stating the the wireless customer I am trying to reach is not available. So... I wish to register here now in this message. My Dogs name is Bella. My e mail address is michelle.schumann@***.com my customer ID number is X29JRQIH My telephone number is 1 70* ***-****. Thank you. Also...please do not print this message since there in personal identifying info. Thanks

Lies and theft

Updated by user May 05, 2021
DNA My Dog sent us a chicken *** form letter telling us that their results are right! LOL!

I had a Veterinarian Teaching Hospital run comparable tests on both dogs and they they proved that DNA MY Dog was wrong!

Now this Hospital has been teaching Vet's for over 100 years, and they have a $20 Million dollar lab, so guess who I believe?I still CAN NOT stress enough how, anyone that is using this service needs to NOT USE this service! They are 1000 miles away from the truth and they will not admit their stupidity!

My advice to any person who is foolish enough to buy this, you are an idiot! This is a Fraud, This is a lie, a scam, and should be avoided at all costs! If you know anyone who is about to order this, stop them as fast as possible. If you want to give money to thieves, go to your ATM, then the first thug you see hand them your money! Chances are you will do better than sending these crooks any money! We had our dogs DNA'D by a vet hospital ( for comparison) and out of the two tests we sent ( they have lost one, how conveniently is that?) their test does not come within 1000 miles of the experts results! How much more of being a scam does a person need?

We have had only great service

We tested with another company that I was going to complain about and saw these reviews. I am shocked. If you want bad service try the viapet company. That is a scam. DNAmyDog has tested 2 of our shelter dogs and we could not be happier. Whenever asked I always go out of my way to complement the DNA folks here for their fine service and great product,

I'm leaning towards...... SCAM!

DNA My Dog even tested my male dog a second time (issues on their end) and requested a pic of him, which I did send. They STILL GOT IT WRONG!

Original review May 13, 2019
I had my 2 dogs tested 1 female and 1 male. They were close on the female: AmStaff Terrier and (Labrador Retriever?) Not so sure about the lab. They were about 90% wrong on the male! They claimed Labrador Retriever, Collie, Weimeraner and Bull Dog. UM...this dog has an ENTIRELY BLACK TONGUE no red inside of his mouth! And they didn't even mention CHOW or Shar Pei :wtf! He is the second Chow Chow mix I have owned. I'm no vet or expert but I think I would know if there was some Chow Chow in my dog. When I adopted him I was told he was a mix of Chow Chow and Rottweiller. Only 1 sister had Rotti markings so I kinda challenge the Rottweiller, but that's waaaay closer than "DNA MY DOG" got it. Of course I never received my certificate for either dog. I'll never use this "service" again! I sent an email to ask what happened to the certificates? They replied that they don't send them anymore. I guess not if they're just guessing. I "GUESS" It just opens them up for law suits...SMH. You should be ashamed.

Worst Customer Service EVER!!!

I was trying to speak to someone since 9:00 AM this morning 12/18. Kept getting the run around each time I called. The so called Manager Margerett was the most RUDEST UNPROFESSIONAL person that I have every spoken with on the phone. She has no idea what Customer Service is. Mr Harvey T (is the name she said was the owner) You should really look into who you are hiring and representing your firm. I even said I was going to email Mr. Harvey and she clearly said Don't bother as I filter all his emails. I have filed an complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Dog Lovers be ware11111

DNA my dog offers total BS

I mailed in my DNA samples. They sent my certificate in a timely manner. But the DNA results they provide state my girl is: Brittany, Bernese Mtn Dog, Poodle, Flat coat retriever, Vizsla. It's an odd thing to say this isn't a 100% type of service. It's DNA. How can it not be correct. My dog is MAYBE 10#. Maybe. She cannot possible be a mix of ANY of these (OK - she may have some poodle in her, possibly, but not mixed with any of these big breeds). I've emailed them THREE times with no reply. I guess I thought if Groupon was providing the deal, it was through a trusted company. I feel completely ripped off and am very disappointed in DNA My Dogs product (LIES) and lack of customer service.

Why it’s a scam

I bought the kit DNA my dog not really having any idea of what mix my dog was. Long story short, I sent in my results, waited the two weeks and got nothing. I called and they told me my results were contaminated and they had to run more tests. The same night we had that conversation I got an email telling me my dogs results and that he was lab/border collie mix. After further review from other sources my dog is a basset/bull dog mix. So clearly this company is a scam and they have terrible customer service or even communication skills.

Dna My Dog Animal Dna Testing Review

Its been over a month and I have not yet received my dog dna results. I was initially told the first sample was deteriorated and did not have enough dna. I was then quoted 7-10 days for results. This is day 15 and no results.

DNA My Dog - Animal Dna Testing Review

Scam! Such a waste of money. We were told she's a heeler but think she is an English pointer. They came back SHARPEI and elkhound. Sharpei. Please look st my dog and tell me this company didn't just hit a randomize button and toss the swabs. They need to be shut down.

Mixed emotions regarding DNAmydog

Updated by user Dec 06, 2016
To date I have had no response from DNAmydog, either from this posting or from my initial attempt to contact the company. I did, during a visit to a local pet supply store, speak with the attendant and was told that she had heard several similar complaints, such as mine, related to DNAmydog.

Wish I had spoken with her prior to my embarking on this wasted venture. All I can say from my experience in regard to their services is to expect little to nothing in results and you will not be disappointed.

Then again you may be pleasantly surprised. Wish I had been.

I recently received the results on my doodle from DNAmydog. I was disappointed at the results and to date have not received a response from them regarding my dissatisfaction. I already knew my boy is primarily Standard Poodle, but there is something else mixed in. I have no way of knowing what as he is a rescue, found abandoned and near death when rescued. I was trying to determine what type of doodle he is and thought DNAmydog could help. Wrong! They told me what I already knew. He is predominantly Poodle. 75% or better. The percentage I did not know, but could look at him and see the Poodle. I want to know if he is a Golden, Lab or a whatever doodle. Not that I will think more of him as he is perfect, but curiosity is a great motivator. He wants to know as well. Perhaps this is the best that DNA identification can do, but if so they should indicate that in their advertising. They did one for my daughter and came back with multiple breeds, tier 2 on down, but with me I got a tier 1 indicator and nothing else.
