Adopting a horse

I have asked for a application to adopt a horse which she owns and is in ohio,,,she called me a horse trader and said I worked for the traders and will sell the horse for meat!!! I dont know this lady and now dont want to she is putting all the rescues down, before she adopts them out what a shame!!!I had a stallion given to me a couple of yrs ago and I told the ppl I was selling the property and had to find him a good home so I wrote to Celeta and asked her if she had a stud stall or anyone who would be interested in him (he was 22) she said no so I found a place for him ,turned out with cows,,he loves it and now I am a trader?????

Horses Review

This is not a complaint, I personally know hundreds of horses have been in crossed sabers SWAP program and most have gone on to good loving homes. These complaints are what I would call sour grapes. Things didn't go the way they wanted so it must be the other person. Plain and simple.

Horse portrayed as completely different

I recently returned a horse that I had adopted from Crossed Sabers/SWAP to her. This horse had a few issues that caused him not to be a good fit for me. He was very horse aggressive, leary and flighty in a trail setting, and had no common horse sense that comes from life experience since he had been on the track. Celeita has recently began posting to get him adopted out again. I checked her post and she has completely lied about this horse. It would be great if she could just be shut down conpletely but that will probably never happen. Whenever someone does adopt this horse they'll just end up returning him also because he won't fit the description at all. I'm attaching screenshots of my description of Mark to her and her description of him on PetFinder.

Crossed Sabers said I sold Horse is NOT TRUE

I got a yearling TB off her that had a club foot. I spent years and lots of money in this horse. When she went to the track and we determined she just wouldn't be good as a race horse we decided instead of returning her we would would breed her. By the way we asked if we could breed her before we even went to see this horse if she didn't make it racing. A lady in another state had a stakes stallion and she went there to be breed to him. The lady was to get the first foal and re-breed her and send her back.In During this time this lady moved to a different state and this horse had her foal but some time before she was shipped home she collicked and died. I still have this Mares papers in my name and never sold her but Celeita tells other people that I sold her, not to let me adopt their horses. This is not true and if she really knew anything about TB farms she would know you take the mare to the stallion .I have rescued at least 40 horses from Sugarcreek and will still do so don't need her lies. All my horses healthy and doing fine.

SCAM artist and crook

My story is too long but let's just say she adopted out a dangerous horse and got my $2500 and wouldn't refund my money OR adopt out another horse to me with one excuse after another; should have sued her and not sure if there is a statute of limitations on this. She is a nutter and stay away at all costs; her horses stand in manure up to their knees which should have been a clue. This horse was a gorgeous Hanoverian but dangerous. I talked to his ex-owner and he should have come with a warning. He tried to kill me on several occasions and I am surprised that I didn't end up in the hospital. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Celeita kramer crossed saber second wind adoption

periodically i read about the many many complaints all over the web on celeita kramer dba second wind adoption/crossed saber adoption. here is my unfortunate experience with this fraudulent business which should have been shut down years ago. my husband and i are over the road truck drivers who own a farm in mason county wv. while searching the web for a horse suited for myself and companion for our thoroughbred of which we have owned for 10 years, i came across second wind adoption. i viewed the website and made a phone call to speak withj celeita kramer who at the time seemed to be a very knowledgable and caring person. i explained to her that we were comming home to take local jobs soon and i wanted a good fit to pal with my thoroughbred gelding and a very well ridden trail horse for myself to ride the trails on our property occasionally. she had nothing at the time but was getting a horse in that week from am amish family that she thought would be perfect for me. soon after, she sent me photos and told me that she had the horse for me. we had many conversations over the phone about the horse whos name was super. he was a former amish buggy horse who was 19 years old at the time. i went to see him and he was beautiful!! i picked himm up and transported him to my farm. upon arrival, he began pacing the fence line and seemed to never stop moving. at the time thought it was because he was in a new home. however, he never stopped pacing and was competely uncontrollable. he was afraid of flies. he would go insane over a fly. we soon noticed that he seemed to have multiple personalities as one day he would come right to us and the next day he would act like he had never seen a human in his life. i bevame very concerned and afraid i had made a terrible mistake. during this time i had several conversations with celeita kramer about these issues of which each time she had a reasonable excuse for these issues. our pastures empty out into a nice stream of water ofwhich super was extremely unwilling to go anywhere near. as ms kramer explains in one of her rebuttals that my creek was down a steep bank with heavy tree cover, this is not true. the stream runs almost level with the land and there is no steep bank nor heavy tree cover. there is a sycamore tree which my horse loves to stay under during hot days and loves to drink and stand in the water. i tried to lead super to the water since ms kramer said he had no fear of water and would walk right through or over water. the minute we got close, he bagan to rear up and jerked away from us. after many attempts, we gave up. i tyhen asked a horse trainer from riupley wv to comeout here and give me an assessment of the horse i brought home which was presented as a very gentle, beginner trail horse who had no vices of walking through or over water. upon the arrival of the trainer, he was shocked that he had a very hard time haltering super. this had not been an issue for me. as ui said formally, each and every day seemed to be a fresh new day for him. you never knew what you were going to get with him. after the trainers assessment, his opinion was that su7per was not the horse for me and that he thought i should return him as he thought he would hurt someone. i discussed this with celeita and this is when she became a totally different person than the one i adopted super from. the next evening, i called the former owner and discussed my problems with super. he told me that super had pulled their buggy for years to town and back. because he had a front leg injury and because they continued to use him as a buggy horse and because(his exact words) he would faithfully pull the buggy induring the pain in his front leg, that they felt like he deserved a home as a pasture pal type horse. he went on to tell me that he had never had a saddle on however once in awhile his children would jump up on his back. i became informed at that moment of the lies i had been told by celeit. still, i saw no issues with supers legs. keep in mind, this horse NEVER stopped moving. he paced and paced and paced. even flies sent him into a frenzy!!! at this point i asked celeita for a refund and to return or exchange him for a more suitable horse for me. she saiod she would think it over. by the days end she had ran to the bank and cashed 2 post dated checks i had written her for a total of 900.00. she called me on a weekend morning and told me she was sending someone for super and i told her she would not get him without a refund. she said read your contract, he isnt yours and is only on lease to you and the law would be here if needed. i told her the horse would not be going anywhere. i then called the mason county pd and explained the situation. they told me that the horse was in my possession and on my property and thety would not and could not take him without my permission. they offered to come out if needed. later in the afternoon a middle aged couple along with a 17 year old girl came to my farm and presented themselves as animal shelter workers from another county. they said they were taking super and i told them that they absolutely were not comming on my property and taking anything. after a long conversation they understood they were on my terms.the young girl was the one pictured on celeita kramers website riding the horses and was a kramer second wind worker/volunteer which celeita works and allows these teenage girls to ride horses for their reward???? pay???this girl agreed with us all that super was in great shape and went on to tell me she had ridden super across water and through water. i told her i didnt believe any of this period. i then handed her a lead rope and asked her to lead super to the creek, she said no problem. she began to lead him and within 50 feet from the water he begsnto *** and pull and hop to almost a rear up. she tried several times each time with the same result. i then told her i didnt believe that he was near water with her no that she had even ridden him and she again insisted she had. i then challenged her to a ride on super. she accepted and saddled him up. upon her mounting him, he immediately went into a full rear up trying to throw her off. she jumped down and at this point he had injured his front leg upon the impact. he bagan tolim at that time and this is when i knew that any effort i may try to make with super was beyond my ability. i then asked them to take him. we all saw the way he behaved that day and we all saw him injur his leg and we all saw how that happened. soon after this celeita kramer began slandering me all over the web stating that he was injured on my farm and starving to death...etc. none of this was true. however i can only assume the many stories and complaints filed by others who have been scammed by this evil bi-polar woman are true. it is very sad that these horses and their prospective adopters have to go through this over and over again. i think the reason she gets by with this is that no. 1 noone knows how many donations she gets or where they come from. she may be getting astronomicval amouts of money tax free. she does support herself in a quite lavish way with these funds as she does not work outside the home. she sells horses which would be otherwise unsellable. adoption..no.horse trader...yes!! and she sells the same horses over and over again....without refunding a dime. i have seen her threaten donaters on her site thast if she doesnt get a certain amount of donations she cannot feed the horses and will have no choice but euthanize them or even worse, turn them out in the woods behind her farm to FENDFOR THEMSELVES???????????????

Heart broken

We recently lost are Doberman of 10 years do to health issues. I did not think I would be ready for another dog, after researching human society online and seeing over thousands of dogs that need a good home, i wanted to give a puppy a second chance. I seen a picture of Chevy at the second wind adoption and sent a email asking if he was still available. To which I received a reply back that he is still available. She stated another couple was coming to see the puppy another noon. I arrived at her house to which she had me stay in a room while she went and got the puppy, the smell was very bad in the house. She brought Chevy out he ran around in the room, before leaving the other couple arrived and she stated wait I will get the other two puppies. She returned with both puppies and all three puppies was peeing on the carpet, I wrote a check for $100 and left with Chevy. He smelled strongly like *** I wanted to surprise my husband so my sister gave him a bath and brought him over the same evening to surprising my husband. He also had very bad diarrhea that evening and all day Sunday and did not eat very much food. My husband called me at work Monday morning and stated Chevy just wanted to sleep, he stated throwing up around noon and still had diarrhea Monday evening my husband rushed him to the emergency vet hospital. They tested him for Parvo which he tested positive. My husband had to leave him there on IV and had to return the next morning to transfer Chevy to our vet's office. I called back to tell second wind adoption chevy had parvo, she didnt seem to be surprised and stated she wished i would have brought him there and she would have treated him for free. myself along with my husband knew nothing about parvo , until the vet educated us on it and how contagous it is. she stated she had treated other puppies for parvo. i stated it lives in the ground for 30 years and everything must be bleached the puppy came in contact with. They started him on IV and told us he could be there 3 to 12 days. We called and visited him Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday morning visit he took a turn for the worst, he was so weak and complications with the Parvo. I received a call from the vet at noon he passed away. My husband had to go today and picked him up and bury him. We adopted Chevy feb 9th to give him a good home, but instead have over $1,100 in the puppy and lost him feb 14th. I researched human society thinking rescue homes is in it for the animals, I now wonder what happened to the other puppies? She should not be allowed to have any animals. I believe she is only in it for the money. Chevy impacted are lives and I will not let him go without doing something so other dogs and adopters do not fill the pain of my husband and myself.

I was also slandered/libeled by this "group"

My name is Amanda Stewart and I was also slandered/libeled by Celeita A. Kramer of SWAP/Crossed Sabers on her website blacklist--because of my views about equine slaughter. My response to her blacklist can be found on the COTH forum on the topic. I received two threatening emails from her as well. I am not worried in giving my name--I am more than prepared to back my statements. It appears that the blacklist has been removed, but, should it return, I will reinitiate a lawsuit on slander/libel/defamation to defend myself. I have never met Ms. Kramer, nor has she ever been to my farm or seen any animal I own or have ever owned. Likewise, I have not visited her farm. In preparation for a legal suit, I performed a background check on Ms. Kramer's education, and found she does NOT have the degrees she espouses, with the exception of an elementary art degree. My complete description of this can also be found on the COTH forum. She does NOT have an equine degree or aviation degree, among others, as was previously listed on her website. I also phoned the IRS and the State of WV. Crossed Sabers is licensed as a stable and that is IT. This "group" of one person is NOT a charity, not a 501(c)3 or any thing of the like according to the IRS. SO, if you donate, it will NOT be tax deductable. I have also phoned and met several others who have worked with and adopted from this "program" and have found that this is only the TIP of the iceberg. She has harassed numerous individuals, trying to (1) get horses back to re-adopt, and (2) to prevent the return horses that weren't working out for adopters. I feel that this individual has misrepresented their education and tax status to those who have kind-heartedly donated MONEY, items, or horses to this "adoption" program. I will NOT hide behind a false name, I am not scared of her...she has bullied and intimidated so many people, and I will NOT be added to that list. If you are in doubt, call the IRS, call people who have dealt directly with this program, and make an informed decision. I do NOT recommend dealing with this individual, group, or program in any way. Save yourself some headache and avoid it like the plague. There ARE good rescues--so, be a wary consumer in making your decisions and you can find a reputable person in this area of "business."

Celeita Kramer has comitted Fraud, acts of Libel, Slander & more

Celeita Kramer at Crossed Sabers Stables/Second Wind Adoption Program has been committing fraud for years now. She has libeled & slandered people who do not see eye to eye with her on her website for the entire internet world to see. Even thou people have had proof that her claims and comments were lies and just vicious attacks on an individual’s, she would continue to leave them on her website until attorneys sent her a cease & desist letter or a local official of the law was notified and brought into the picture. She was recently investigated for animal abuse & neglect. The reports put forth went to PETA & local officials. She herself stated on her website: "Unfortunately, if some horses aren’t placed into homes soon. We will have to start putting down horses that we can’t place and that have been here over a year". All of the horses ARE still alive. That statement above shows the attempt to violate her own "Adoption Contract". Here are a few sentences from an email that made it into the hands of city officials it is another point on how Celeita Kramer is running this adoption program: 1)" These horses are all free, all you have to do is sign our adoption contract and take them. I can't feed them anymore. My only choice if no one adopts them is to start letting horses loose and let them fend for themselves. We don't have any more money to feed any of them". 2)"Someone give these guys a chance or they will be let lose in the woods behind our pasture. I don't even have the money for the vet to come and put any of them down and I don't see anyone getting adopted soon". This was sent out 2 days after the posting of "Putting Horses Down" on her website. FRAUD: somebody who deliberately deceives somebody else, usually for financial gain. Copies of her infamous "Blacklist" where numerous accounts of libel & slander are located can still be found on the internet. Reports were made on this as well to local officials & now the "Blacklist" has mysteriously disappeared from her website. This has happened time & time again. She takes it off the site & puts it back after awhile. She has tampered with many people’s lives with this list. Many of these were just personal vendettas.
