We were blessed to get our Cockapoo 15 years ago from the Ritters. She had been a healthy, smart loving dog.

She was called Dark Molly when we first saw her on their website. 15 years later, look at that blond beautiful face!

Puppy Mill

Do your research on D Ritter. I hope you reconsider buying from her puppy Mill while we are monitoring her every move!

Our Babiegirl

We purchased a Miniature Schnauzer from Cornerstone Farms in 2011 soon after our beloved one passed away living 14 years. She has been healthy, happy and loving ever since she flew from MO to Virginia. She has been a joy to us and hopes she lives a long life. She is playful, house trained, protective and understands commands as if she were human. Our babiegirl, as her daddie calls her knows exactly when we come home. She loves taking walks, taking leads and as small as she is she thinks she owns the streets. She is not afraid of big dogs. When it snows, she's the first one to want to go outside and play in it. The sun is also her favorite thing to bathed in. She sits on the ground and howls at it for comfort. All in all, we are truly happy we purchased her from Cornerstone Farms and would recommend it to anyone wanting to pay the price. The pics of her (Button) is her at four months and now at seven years old. We love her to pieces and we know she loves us unconditional.

Perfect Puppies

We have purchased two perfect cavapoos from the Ritter family. Both healthy, happy, and easily trained. These are the two most loving little pups on earth. One of the Ritter daughters even called on the day they were flying our first puppy to us - to let us know that she was extra tiny (less than 2 lbs.) and she would need some extra nutrients after her flight.. so we purchased the recommended Nutri-cal.. they seemed very concerned about the well being of the pup they were shipping. I’m not sure what other folks are experiencing with Cornerstone Farms - but our family could not be more pleased with our puppies.

So happy

I got my puppy one year ago as of yesterday and have ran into no issues at all. She’s loving and sweet and healthy!

Excellent! Couldn't be happier!

We got our Lizzy from cornerstone farms two years ago. She was an 8 wk morkie. Our vet said numerous times that she was the "healthiest" "cleanest" and "best vaccinated" puppy she had ever seen! Lizzy is an exemplary dog! Amazing with my three children! She came to us partially kennel trained at 8 weeks! We will definitly adopt from cornerstone again. Lizzy is a wondeful healthy dog and was a super easy going and well acclameated puppy. She definitly learned what true love was from the Ritters! Thank you Ritter family!!!!!

Worst puppy mill!

Awful experience with a sick dog! I purchased another one from a women named rikki barker and it was a happy healthy pup. Save yourself the heartache, time, money and energy and order elsewhere. Had I known this was an awful muppy mill and cult like people running it I would have ran for the hills. 6 years later I can still remember the feeling of watching my dog suffer and not be able to stand, eat, drink and urinate.

No issues.

We bought a puppy from the Ritter family. Had a great time communicating and purchasing our puppy. He is the sweetest, healthiest dog! We couldn't be happier with him. He arrived healthy and loving. He showed no signs of illness or neglect. In fact, he was very well adjusted and easy to train. He seemed to have been treated well! Every time I've emailed or contacted them, they reply in a timely manner. We have had no issues with this breeder and are planning on purchasing again soon. We've had our healthy dog for eight years. He's truly a part of our family. I wanted to put out our positive experience with this breeder.

Experience with Cornerstone Farms

I own two of the most wonderful ***-a-poos that I bought from Cornerstone Farms. Both dogs are beautiful and very healthy. I have had no trouble with any health issues with them. They were healthy the day they arrived. They both came with a health record, a chip to identify them already placed and up-to-date shots. People stop to comment on how beautiful our dogs are. They have unique markings. We walk our dogs in the woods and they always stay with us. We go for a weeks vacation in the Adirondacks with them. They swim, ride in the canoe and hike with us. They are members of our family. If there is anything I would change, it is hard to reach them sometimes, but they are running a farm so it is understandable. They do return calls. My next dog will also be a Cornerstone Farm dog. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Dishonest Breeder

My experience with the Ritter Family was very alarming because they proclaim to be Christians all over their site. But Jesus would not lie. His followers don't lie and deceive. She sweet talks you into getting her puppy but then when something's wrong she bites like a rabied dog. All the while proclaiming that your not treating her like a Christian. What a big hypocrite.

Fair Judgement

Yes it is a battle. Because while they may be bad breeders in the business. That doesn't make all breeders bad. MO has some of the strictest standards in the nation. Their standards far surpass the USDA Regulations. Look them up. You'll be amazed at the requirements. Dogs must have water at all times. Clean bowls and dishes. Clean dog houses with two forms of bedding in winter an extra large pen based on size and exercise. They have great standards. Most breeders live in the country because you can't have facilities in the city. I believe they should show pics of the parents. But you obviously don't understand disease prevention and Bio Security measures. Puppies aren't covered completely by vaccinations until the third vaccine and 80 percent after the second. Parvo and strep and flu are prevalent and spread on shoes. When the parents get them via contact with outsiders it can spread to all the puppies and dogs with heavy loss. So until you truly understand the risks of letting everyone Pet your dogs who have probably been petting other dogs at other places and Dog breeding you should refrain from speaking facts you know little of. The HSUS facilities and shelters are the real puppymills. They want to make it where the public can only purchase from their profiting business. So they put breeders down. In every profession in America you have your Ritter's. That doesn't mean that everyone in that profession should be shut down.

Would not buy from Cornerstone Again

Bought a 11 week old Aussiedoodle from Cornerstone about 2 weeks ago and paid $850 for the puppy. Within less than a week of having it, I have spent over $1300 on vet bills. Puppy had fleas, okay not a big deal, that can happen, but still had to treat him for fleas. Then the puppy stopped playing and eating, and I find out it has round worms and hook worms so bad it had to stay in the hospital for over 36 hours getting treated. The vet says there is no way, the puppy got so infested with worms in the short time we had him, it had to have worms when you got it. Cornerstone is saying now we should have took him only to Webster Groves Animal hospital, because they have a contract with them. We took him to Veterinary Specialist Services because they are closer and we know of the care they give. When it is 3 am in the morning and your puppy is sick, you take him to the closest place you trust. Will Cornerstone refund us any money, well so far they are will to give us $50. I doubt I get anything, but who knows. If you think I am alone in complaining about Cornerstone Farms, just go to Google and type in Cornerstone dog breeder. Look at the reviews on Yelp, heck, Fox news did a report on them and it was not favorable. No breeder is perfect but I have my worries about ones who have so many complaints. I should have done my homework better and researched Cornerstone before I bought. At least the puppy is healthy now and my daughter is happy.

Information I would like to share

There is no use in trying to call Cornerstone out. Do you think if they were mistreating dogs they would ever admit it? Almost every negative comment about a personal experience is retorted with a comment about how they never sold a puppy to that person. I have seen this on several websites. The truth is no one will ever know what is really going on positive or negative unless you are a family member, friends of the family, or the U.S. Department of Agriculture inspector. I wonder if any perspective buyers have ever been allowed to see the "facility" or the puppies "parents". That is a huge red flag. The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture does not have very good standards for operations. Many of us dog lovers would consider what they accept appalling. Many "country folk" don't view dogs like we do. Please don't get upset about my "country folk" comment as I grew up on a farm. They see them as property or livestock. Things like a guaranteed vet health check is a joke because I know from personal experience that a money hungry vet will work with people who promote puppy mills so basically anyone can be bought. I know of one in Chicago that works with a well-known pet store that I know first hand sells puppies from puppy mills that they get all over the Midwest. Hopefully as more and more information gets out to the public, people will be able to research more. Also, there are people who buy dogs from pet stores and puppy mills who truly don't see what is wrong with it, so they are not going to have anything negative to say. In the end, we can only be the best person we can be and those who do things that they know is wrong have that on their conscience whether it hits them now or later. The best thing you can do to combat puppy mills and commercial breeders is to only purchase a dog from a reputable breeder that will show you the parents and facility where they are kept including proper paperwork from the AKC, not from the ACA, and the other organizations that are not considered very strict about who joins their clubs. I would personally not even trust AKC paperwork until you have verified it with the organization. Don't ever buy a dog from a pet store or someone who will meet you in a parking lot. BIG RED FLAG! I am not here to bash Cornerstone but to try to help spread the word about puppy mills and commercial breeders. Missouri has the most of any state. I hope I live to see the day when all have been shut down. I am not associated with any animal rights group, Humane Society, or organization. I am just a person who was raised to love and care for for my animals (once again I lived on a farm, but not a breeder of any kind, just pets, chickens, ducks, crops, etc.) and this is a battle I chose to fight.

Bought several dogs from the Ritters

I find it very strange that there's so many people attacking them with situations that sound like total nonsense. Anyone noticed they are type and word things exactly the same? Sounds like animal activists that are against any breeder. I've bought three standard poodles, a husky, and a few other dogs over the years. I should point out that I've done business with them for years. I was kept updated on my puppies while I was waiting for them to be hold enough to come to me. They were clean and groomed. My first poodle was absolutely amazing. She's grown into a wonderful dog. She's a great example of her breed. She's incredibly intelligent and great with kids. She was an EXTREMELY hyper puppy but she calmed down once she reached her adult years. My girls have produced champion show dogs and certified therapy dogs. There's no question that her dogs are great quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more from her and I plan to do so.

CORNERSTONE FARMS-Debra Ritter

Updated by user May 17, 2016
Doing further research today on the Humane Society of America's 100 Worst Puppy Mill site, I found that Cornerstone Farms was also on the "2014 Hundredth Worst Puppy Mill list. I reported yesterday Cornerstone Farms made the "2016 Worst Puppy Mill" list.

It was reported in this report published by The Humane Society of America that Cornerstone Farms in 2014 had OVER 500 dogs.

It was also reported that an eye witness reported to inspectors that "unwanted dogs were shot and buried on site".

The report talks about the bad condition some dogs were found in, without drinking water, sores on skin, ect...

In 2014 Cornerstone Farms stated on their website that they claimed to be "AAA rated by inspectors". It was discovered that Cornerstone Farms had NO USDA License.

Looking up the 2014 and 2016 report is an eye opener. Please read on about what the 2016 report stated.

Cornerstone farms has once again made the "HUMAN SOCIETY'S 100 WORST PUPPY MILL LIST for 2016" This is not the first time Debra Ritter has made this list. From this list here is what is written, " REPEAT OFFENDER, PUPPIES WITH BLOODY STOOLS; EXCESSIVE *** AND UNDERWEIGHT DOGS FOUND YEAR AFTER YEAR". You can find the Human Society's 100 worst puppy mill list if you Google this phrase. Then scroll down to the State of Missouri. This is NOT speculation, this is fact which is available to the general public. Missouri is a huge puppy mill state with puppy mills dotting the hills and back woods. Don't be fooled by a breeders fancy, sweet website. Please consider checking into your local shelter. Thousands, upon thousands of adorable puppies are put down in shelters every year because there are not enough families to adopt them. Do an online search for animal shelters in your state. A mixed breed dog is often times healthier than a pure bred dog, because of puppy mills and their poor breeding practices.

Cornerstone Farms - Dog Review

Let me just enlighten ALL people who actually read this and you ALL should read this. My name is John and I purchased two dogs from the Ritters this year for Christmas presents for my wife and children. Like many of you I read the reviews here both good and bad. I took the time to call there vet and then called mine to see if their vet was a reputable person. Found out he was. The Ritters vet had nothing but good things to say about them. Then I called the state offices for the department of Ag to find they had a current USDA certificate. I then called the prosecutors office to ask if the family had been investigated for animal abuse and the woman I spoke with assured me she had no record of it. So I did ALL of my homework. I then was informed by my son who works for Microsoft they there is NO ONE who monitors or validates comments on sites like this and he proved it to me by showing me where several places there were things about the Ritters that I had already investigated and found to be lies. Allstate insurance even makes fun of us as consumers with a commercial about a French model who clearly isn't...bonjour. I don't know these people from anymore than my successful purchase but the lies on here are rediculous at best and almost ALL are anonymous. They have a license, they are inspected, they are respected by there piers and just like anyone else they can't defend themselves against lies posted by liars and malicious people with a hidden agenda. 316islife@***.com is my email feel free to contact me. I'm a real person and stand by my own findings about this breeder.
