Defective product

Have not been contacted by anyone from congoleum. Exactly what I expected.

Purchased my floor Congoleum TX403 in November I believe, had it down for about 7 months and my floating floor starts floating away. Contaced where I purchased, Hixson Carpet and Tile in Hixson Tn, he immediately said "installed wrong " of course we installed it. Said he'd have to look at it or the Rep would. That never happened. He had me send pictures and of course "it was installed wrong". We have installed several types of flooring with no issues. I still am curious as to how he could even tell since we didn't know what was going on until we took it up to replace it. The locking edges just totally disintegrated. There was anything from small brittle strips to powder. He still insisted it was installed wrong and insulted us several times. I have tried contacting Congoleum by their website and left message at their phone number, there has been absolutely no response from them. This floor cost me $2300, I will never purchase or tell anyone to purchase Congoleum flooring. I believe we should receive a full refund as obviously this product was substandard.

Stain on dura ceramic flooring that can not remove after trying everything the care instructions from Congoleum for DuraCeramic Lifetime Residential Warranty provides

We have developed staining on our dura-ceramic flooring that will not come off no matter that we have followed the "how to treat Stains, spills and scuffs" as provided by our installer for the Duraceramic Origins and Duracermic dimensions LIFETIME residential limited warranty. Perhaps there is a defect in the material coating that absorbed dye from a floor rug? And this is why the Duraceramic flooring was discontinued by Congoleum?. This replaced duraceramic floor was supposed to be a Lifetime warranty and the floor that was installed by Kerns of Brookfield, WI is only 7 years old! What is the solution to resolve this defect? We had Kerns install the orginal Duraceramic Flooring in our Kitchen in 2011, however the flooring started showing defects after only 4 years after installation. Kerns Carpet One of Brookfield, WI then replaced the original Duracermic Flooring in our Kitchen in 2015 under warranty by Congoleum as original flooring was showing pit hole defects, NOW not only after 7 years the replaced flooring absorbed dye from a floor rug that has been on the floor for a long time. Are the flooring materials that were used to produce the Duraceramic flooring breaking down, and is this why Congoleum has discontinued this product. Then what about the customers who have ordered and installed this Lifetime Residential product??? We are looking for a satisfactory resolution as we now have been burned twice on this product. We have a full box plus of Kitchen tiles from the 2015 replacement that can be used, if Congoleum will pay for an installer to remove the defective flooring and replace as we are told we can no longer get this flooring because of manufacturer discontinuation of manufacturing of product. Please respond with an amicable resolution.

Want a refund for this flooring. Had put in in 2003..tried to get replaced a number of times with Abby decorating who put it in and said they wouldn't

Can't get the floor clean and many chips and stains that were not supposed to happen when I purchased this floor will not honor the warranty!!!

Bad flooring and company

I have put congoleum flooring down twice and both floo were worthless. My first floor was a linoleum, and it shrunk away from the wall about an inch the flooring. was told I mopped it too much and it was caused by my refrigerator sitting on it. Lol The 2nd was dura ceramic. It has cracked and the finish has come off and you can't get dirt out of little tiny holes. I have tried to contact them and I don't get a response. Just makes me sick of how much money was spent. This company sucks!!!!!!!

Duraceramic flooring complaints

Less than one year after we had our Duraceramic floor installed it began to crack in places. When we contacted the contractor he said it was a manufacturer issue, when we contacted Congoleum they said it was the contractor's installation issue and neither ever returned our calls and emails. A few years later not only do we have more cracks, but the finish is worn off in many places and in heavy traffic areas the tiles are just crumbling away and there is only my husband and I living in the house. So the lifetime warranty they say they are giving you is useless and we will have to replace it after just a few years. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVES!!

Not happy

Updated by user Jun 28, 2020
It is only me and my husband, and this flooring is wearing terribly!

Original review Jun 28, 2020
I had my duraceramic floor put in three years ago, and am not happy. Not only do I have small nicks all over the floor, but water droplets leave marks, and it doesn't look good at all.It was recommended by Fillman & Sons, LLC in Emmaus, PA. I was told to only vacuum it, but that leaves it looking dirty. I wish I would have known how bad this flooring was. DO NOT BUY THIS, IT'S TERRIBLE!!!

Floor is not durable, quite the opposite

Our floor has been in for nearly 10 years and looks like garbage. If someone drops a dish, there will be a new pit in the floor. This happens in kitchens! Our dining room chairs have always had felt on the feet and still the floor color has worn away where you pull the chair out.

Great looking surface; warmer than hard floor tiles

I just completed my second install of Congoleum Luxury Vinyl Tile. When selecting grout I was warned by the retailer about grouting problems, but I did it my way - only grouting three tile sides or 4 feet (1.22 m) at a time - and had absolutely no issues. The first floor was done two years ago and we enjoyed the look and warmer, more-comfortable feel of the luxury vinyl tile so much that when it came to choosing flooring for the second bathroom it was a no-brainer. We have not seen any of the issues claimed by other reviewers. The only disappointment was that Congoleum discontinued the AU11 product that we used before, so we switched to RB10.

Congoleum Duraceramic Flooring

I’m with all the bad reviews for congoleum duraceramic flooring. Save your money and buy another product. We are 64 years old and take good care of everything including our new flooring! We have no kids at home and no grandkids. The floor began falling apart less than 6 months after install. Congoleum ignored us for another 6 months then finally came out and had a look. Never got back to us! We found out from where we bought the flooring that congoleum was not honoring their warranty. The warranty is a scam that I will spread far and wide. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY FLOORING FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER!!!!

Thank God for crayola review

We purchased Congoleum flooring in 2016 for our kitchen, back porch, basement stairs, basement landing and small bathroom in the basement. The gentleman who installed the flooring did an excellent job. That is where our satisfaction pretty much ended. Aside from the fact that this product is warmer than ceramic and softer on the feet there is nothing else redeeming about it. The vinyl layer is as thin as a coat of paint with zero durability. Customer service from the store we purchased the flooring from was very poor. Although a rep from the store along with your local rep came to our house on two different occasions nothing was resolved. On one of the occasions they took an extra tile that we had and said that it would be tested for defects and surface durability. We never heard from them again. All I can say is thank God for Crayola. It's the only thing that covers up the dozens of scratches - (our tile is dark grey and the material underneath is white). I would never recommend this flooring to anyone and I wish that I could identify the store that I purchased it from because I wouldn't recommend them either.

Do not waste your money

We too in 2007 put in Congoleum flooring throughout most of our home. We immediately started to notice dents and tears in the surface. We contacted Congoleum and they sent someone to our home to assess. End result-it was our fault. Our friends also put this in their home at the same time. They too immediately started to have problems. I will not ever buy another Congoleum product. I warn people. My friend just put it in her bathroom after my warning. It does not hold up. I have 20 year old linoleum at a rental home with kids, dogs, cats that looks better than this supposed lifetime warranted flooring that cost me a lot of money.

DuraCeramic is not durable.

Two years in not a test for a flooring product. Our DuraCeramic lasted about 4 years before the chipping started and has continued to get worse. No grout issues other than a slight discoloration in wear areas. By the way I am a retired flooring contractor and installed this junk in my own home. Because of my background, I made sure to order extra tiles looks like I will need them and the some. There are only two of us, we don't where shoes in the house. The biggest problem area is right in front of our kitchen sink. Area's where there is little to no traffic have held up.

No one responds to request for care info via their website

Updated by user Oct 21, 2018
NO ONE has EVER contacted me regarding my question to them on how to take care of their product.

Original review Sep 21, 2018
Got new DuraCeramic flooring but there was no care information provided. Thought it'd be quick/easy to obtain it directly from the company. Used their advertised "quick way" website Contact Us form 2 times. No one from the company has responded to my request in any way! Didn't even receive an auto-received message...where are our messages going - does anyone look at them? So far we like the flooring and want to ensure we care for it properly so as not o have to worry about them trying to void the warranty on it if there is some problem in the future. Not at all impressed so far by the Congoleum company. Left this info on their Facebook page....

Staining and excessive chipping and nicking

I too had installation issues with Duraceramic, as the tile cracked and broke. Congoleum's warranty inspector said the wrong adhesive was used; hardly my fault. The retailer I had used had gone out of business, so Congoleum offered to replace the tiles, failing to know they no longer offered the black and white. So I asked for the cost of new tiles Nov 10, 2017, and have been ignored. Worst of all, they have not yet responded to the yellow staining of the white tiles and excessive chipping...which have nothing to do with installation. I followed the instructions carefully, supplying the extensive list of dox, including invoices, photos, and so forth. In the age of social media, it is surprising the company would ignore a request for compensation that was hardly a big deal. What is the price of customer satisfaction?
