Forced Golf Resigantion

We've been CCA members for over 25 years and in 2000 moved to Anthem CC. My wife recently had an Aneurysm followed by an AVM in which she required over 20 hours of brain surgery and is lucky to be alive but she can no longer play golf. We kept our membership as I was playing however, 6 weeks ago I had to have major surgery on my back in which the surgeon says golf is out of my future. We contacted the club as to the situation and were told we had to pay golf fees for the rest of the year which amounts to several thousand dollars which was something we were never made aware of when we joined. Having been members of Braemar CC and moved to Mission Hills, neither club made this ridiculous restriction which at this time when we need money for medical expenses is absurd. Thus we are asking you to step in and help us so we don't have to pay for something we will never use again. Not being able to play golf is bad enough for us and having been CCA members for over 25 yes, what a way to treat us.

Fed up member

Member at MHCC in Rancho Mirage and whilst the golf courses are pretty good, everything else there is basically a ZERO. The staff turnover is insane and thats because club corp pay them nothing. The service is appalling, the food is average at best and in many cases pretty awful. The charges have gotten out of control and the monthly fees are way too high for what the club is offering. Club Corp are just interested in profit and couldnt care about the members. I am member of another club, half the monthly dues and dont have a single complaint about anything at that club

July 4 celebration

My wife and I have been members at the Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club for 15 years. Prior to 2017/18 they used to do a good job with the July 4th event. This year (2022) they increased the ticket prize for July 4th to $120 per person and the whole experience was extremely disappointing. The current General Manager needs to be fired. This club has only gone downhill since he took over. He is also the most unfriendly person in an industry that needs customer facing, welcoming, and friendly personalities.

Rising Dues and Mis Management

I've been a member for 25 years. My dues keep going up and in the meantime other members are giving up their membership to opt out for part-time jobs with the courses. This allows them unlimited access to play all golf courses in our area. Some work one day a week for 4-6 hours and have the same privileges as paying members. This is totally unfair to ask your loyal members to keep paying rising dues and subsidize the people who work for Club Corp part-time and get the same benefits as Paying Loyal Members. Please re-evaluate this situation. Thanks

Management Issues

I am a former employee of Aspen Glen Club in Carbondale, CO. I no longer work there because I was screamed at by the Head Chef, Terry Kreutzer, on the line, in the middle of service. I believe I did nothing to provoke that kind of behavior. It stemmed from a simple question. On top of that, the place is filthy and there is no cleaning schedule and I beleive it is unsafe food practice. I am not looking for anything in this email, I would just like to point out some management problems within the Aspen Glen Club, and I would like to keep this anonymous. Thank you

Membership restructuring

Original review Nov 29, 2021
I just quit the Woodlands Country Club in Spring TX after being a member for the last 4 years. They just implemented a sweeping membership restructuring of both the WCC and a smaller club they own called Golf Trails of the Woodlands (formerly Canongate Golf). The reason for this restructure, as told by the GM, was to mainly reduce tee time compaction at the Woodlands CC courses .... the Player, TPC and the Palmer courses. The WCC members also had full access to the 3 Golf Trails courses, the Oaks,Panther Trails and Lake Windcrest. It was nothing but a money grab by Club Corp, plain and simple. They are always trying to figure out how they can squeeze more money from their members under the guise of supposedly adding or enhancing their membership. Total garbage. What they did was this. First, they got rid of the Lake Windcrest golf course. Then, WCC Full Golf member dues increased 20%. Senior WCC golf members increased 40%. Golf Trails members were forced to either quit or upgrade to a lower level CC membership but had to pay from $6000 to $15000 in initiation to do so. This new membership also had significantly higher membership dues as compared to their former levels at Golf Trails. But it gave them full access to the Palmer course, though Lake Windcrest was no longer associated with the club. That's a lot of extra money for Club Corp. And the GM has already stated that target membership levels for all 4 categories has already been surpassed. Remember, this was all done to SUPPOSEDLY reduce tee time compaction at the WCC. Maybe someone at Club Corp can explain to me how giving 1500+ new members access to the Palmer will REDUCE tee time compaction there. Seriously? Tee time compaction/congestion is due to the dramatic shift in our work life paradigm. When the WCC had almost 2200 members, this was not an issue. Why? Because most members actually had to GO TO work. Now, because of COVID mania, many people are "working from home" on the golf course. Raising rates won't change that. It just adds money to the bottom line of Club Corp. Of course, they know this. And it drives members, like me, to say enough is enough. Money grabbers, pure and simple. But mine no longer!

Awareness

In late May I signed a one year invitational membership for an initiation fee of $1,000.00 and $550.00 per month with full golf privileges'. I was told that after the year I could then sign up for a full membership for $12,000.00 and as of then, $550.00 per month and that they could not unreasonably raise the monthly because they had to be competitive with other clubs. On Sept. 28th I get an email stating my membership has been recalled and I will need to make a decision by Oct. 28th to move to a full golf membership for now $16,000 and $695.00 per month or a limited membership, basically Mon. thru Friday, for $10,000 and 475.00 per month. in reading their fine print they state the limited membership can be recalled at any time for any reason. This means I could now pay the 10K in November and 4 months later they can just recall it and keep my 10K. Just like they did with the first membership for the 1K after 5 months of a supposedly 1 year deal. Does anyone believe that ClubCorp can be trusted or am I just a sucker? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me?

Clubcorps changed my long-term membership

Original review Aug 17, 2021
I have changed my opinion of how the Buckhead Club and Clubcorps treats their long time members. So, I am ending my membership August 2021. For Clubcorps, I paid extra every month to have golf privileges which I never used over 10 plus yrs and 2x a month 2 for 1 meals, which I used 5xs in 2021 only 1x a month and years when I barely used the meal privilege. Whenever I would call the ClubCorps line, they would be unfamiliar with the privilege. When I arrived at a Club, they would not have my reservation, which I would have to show on my phone. Also, they would argue with me about my 2/1 and I would have to email the Director of the Buckhead Club. Last year, I heard that the Club of the South and other golf country clubs did not want Clubcorps members taking their members' golfing spots. I believe they were annoyed with me having to email the Buckhead Club Director each time to confirm my privilege. So, they stopped our long time membership to keep you at your Buckhead home club where they will offer 50 percent off meals and the Commerce Club (which is a daytime club mainly) 50 percent off after 3pm instead of the wide range of golf clubs as well. Also, the Buckhead Club had the privilege of allowing lunch on the Buckhead club if we ever wanted to network with a member. I have never asked for this, but I did this year and was told this was discontinued. Also, dues cannot be paid anymore by credit card for skymiles and has to be bank drafted to save Clubcorps credit card fees. A few examples. Yet, with these changes to save them money, they recarpted the Buckhead Club again.
