Still problems buying my Prescription mattress. Months after beginning, I’m still not sleeping in the correct bed I selected. Why is it that is disabled worker can’t get a mattress.
After months of trying, I am still not sleeping in the mattress prescribed for me to help relieve my pain as a disabled worker. Adding insult to injury, the City Mattress New York State sales manager Mike Sterner ignores requests to resolve our installation issues. This abusive treatment is just one event in a long string of miss treatment and abuse by six City Mattress representatives and counting! The only common factor leading up to this problems is that Im a disabled worker. By the sweat of my brow and the calluses my hand I hurt my back in 2008 only to be forced into disability in 2016. This mattress is supposed to be comfortable enough for me to sleep a bit at night but I havent since I received it. After repeated attempts to get latest problem resolved involving six different city mattress sales personnel, Im still not sleeping in the mattress that Workers Compensation insurance policy paid for. Can anyone tell me why every time I asked for insurance billing paperwork, I was denied and kept from purchasing a mattress like any other customers? Can anyone tell me why City Mattress has yet to follow up and give us the mattress we tested in their show room? Can anyone think of a reason why City Mattress corporate culture is it standardized policy of discrimination against a disabled worker like me? Why can I watch City Mattress purchases take place on a daily basis & mine take months to get delivered and its wrong? Mr. David Schiller, why does it seem you and your company City Mattress are satisfying every customer that purchases your mattresses except for this disabled contractor and police officer on disability? Doesnt my lifetime of hard work have any lasting value to you and your corporation? Really, anything to you? Im very interested to hear how do you define equality?

Problem trying to buy a mattress again And feeling more discriminated against.
Why does every sales person & City Mattress Corporate not want to take an order for my replacement mattress already authorized by a New York State Workers Compensation insurance claim. They cashed their check 11 years ago forcm my previous mattress but now the City Mattress corporate culture its City seems to have seriously changed into being a broad and widescale policy of discrimination against disabled workers. This is literally the only factor of difference in an entirely identical transaction that happened 11 years ago. Has City Mattress evolved to embrace a corporate culture of training salesforce to focus on avoiding sales of disabled workers and thereby a culture of discrimination against workers compensation and disabled workers rights? Every time, every single sales person, and every corporate representative has failed to simply order the replacement mattress and Then cash the authorized check. To date, no one has ordered My replacement mattress and am still having severe back pain while trying to sleep and that's only a handful of hours every night. And to top this off, I started trying to get this done back in December 2021. You decide after reading this because you don't have to worry about being on a jury of City Mattresses after you do. I literally can’t purchase a mattress for retail price but City Mattress has a policy to sell for less and give paperwork for retail price to “Buyers””, apparently like interior designers?
Im really upset. City Mattress can and should do better with their customer service and policies. Ive tried for two months to buy a Prada mattress and pay full retail price, of no City Mattress employee so far is willing to talk to me after they find out Im on disability. Why cant I pay with A combination of an insurance reimbursement check and pay a little more to get the mattress I need at retail price. However, after I having spoken with four different sales people & two managers, One of them named Vincent in Florida today & the rest nearby me in Buffalo, New York, I cant seem to get them to sell me a mattress. Vincent did share that it is City Mattress policy and procedure for a buyer, or I suppose an interior designer l, can do the following without any problem. The buyer first obtains a retail price quote from City Mattress, charge their The retail price, collect for retail price for the mattress, order the same mattress and have it delivered to their customer and keep the difference between the cheaper price The buyer pays and that retail price on the quote actually paid for the same mattress. Can anyone explain to me why City Mattress wont take a check from my insurance company for any Mattress and let me pay the difference to get that mattress paying full retail value myself ?? City Mattress literally wont let me combine a check and pay the difference, and pay the difference of the full retail price for that very same mattress. Is it because I'm disabled? Is this City Mattress policy and procedure covert or overt discrimination against disabled persons like me?? Perhaps someone can answer that accurately, I don't know, and I really don't care. I would just like to get my mattress to try and sleep better, but looks like I have to be an interior decorator or buyer to get the right pricing for their very own Parana mattress. I guess Ill get some business cards and call myself an interior designer and work out this deal. Anyone have idea?

Sooo Disappointed
Just left the city mattress on transit rd.in Clarence NY and was immediately shown the 5-10K mattresses. After having to listen to the salesman's life story ( not having anything to do with our concerns and wishes) he stated that the average life expectancy of the expensive mattresses was 5-7 years. I expressed how ridiculous it was to tell a customer that they would have to spend 5 or 6K every 5 years. We left and went to metro Mattress. Where do you get these salespeople from???

King size Simmons Beauty Rest sagging after 2 1/2 years. Called and played phone tag for 2 weeks, finally they send a guy out who stated if it is not 1 1/2 inches too bad! Very scripted response that sounds like they have done this to many customers. Stating Body imprints are normal. My previous mattress never sagged and had it more than 8 years. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Lancaster, New York. Poor customer service.

Sagging Mattress
We bought a $3500 mattress, it started to sag after three years, Its a King with a plateau down the middle with two lower valleys on each side. We wake up with back aches daily... Looking for a new mattress.

Mattress sagged after just 2 weeks!
I complained about my mattress sagging after two weeks and was told that if the sag was not more than 1.5 inches the warranty would not cover it. Really, so it is okay to sag up to 1.5 inches in the middle? I bought this mattress instead of getting something cheaper online because it was supposed to be guaranteed. Further, I bought two other mattresses from them, one is just okay, but not as comfortable as the one tested in the showroom and we have no way of knowing if they gave us an inferior mattress. The 3rd mattress has not been slept on, but I don't have high hopes for it either! I emailed my sales person twice an he never responded in anyway, but he was always there and ready to assist before I paid for the mattresses. After the delivery did could not get any assistance from him. Won't go to City Mattress again!

Exceptional Experience
I wanted to let you know that my wife and I had the best experience and was extremely happy with service from the City Mattress Boca Raton, Florida location and especially from Pedro who manages this store. He took the time to get acclimated with our needs and he spent the time showing us the various mattresses in our specific price range. After purchasing a Prana Karma mattress, we realized how much quality sleep we were missing. The entire City Mattress organization which extends from the accessibility of all the locations, to the sales personnel and finally to the delivery was a tremendously exceptional experience.

My wife and I have a King sized bed comprised of two twin XL mattresses. My wife has a bad back so we bought two AIRE mattresses which are very firm. This mattress was too firm for me and I could not get comfortable. I called my salesperson Chris M. after two nights of sleeping on this and asked if I could return my mattress for something softer. He was very pleasant and agreeable and told me to come right in. He welcomed me and showed me a nice selection of plush mattresses and I picked out a Prana SKY. Chris could not have been nicer and more understanding through the return process. He even gave me a 10% Veterans discount which I appreciated very much. This is my third purchase with City Mattress and I won't go anywhere else. I highly recommend City Mattress and Chris M.

Dishonest and Deceitful
Dishonest and Deceitful Purchased a $6k mattress that was represented to have a full replacement warranty, which was a key factor in our decision to purchase a Prana mattress. After just a few years of use the mattress became deeply compressed in sleeping areas and has lost all the “sleep benefits” that the company claims. All warranty claim attempts were declined by City Mattress as (according to City Mattress) the issues we experienced did not meet the warranty matrix. Warning to all: DO NOT BUY A MATRESS FROM CITY MATRESS AS THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DECEIPTFULL AT BEST. As a member on many organizations and boards I will be sure to spread the word.

3 Reasons Why I Will Never Again Buy From City Mattress
I recently made a purchase of a mattress set at City Mattress of over $4500. I was extremely unhappy with the quality and comfort of the set once it was delivered. After several arguments with the delivery and warehouse people, I worked with the salesperson and she offered to exchange the set for another set which I kindly took advantage of. Once this new set was delivered, I was horrified to find that the new mattress was so firm, it made sleeping absolutely a chore. Embarrassed, I called my sales person back and asked if I had any remaining options. As you can guess, my sales person was out of patience with me. Below is my own personal lessons learned from the experience. 1. PRICE - never make a purchase at a store such as City Mattress before doing serious price comparisons online. I think you will find much better options are available for way less that an expensive brick and mortar retailer. The direct to the consumer options can be on average 1/2 the price of expensive brick and mortar retailers. 2. WARRANTY - Never buy from an establishment that does not offer you money back guarantee options and a guarantee of your satisfaction. One time trade in warranties can lead to expensive mistakes. This time it was a disaster for me. Most online direct to the consumer mattress companies offer no-quibble money back guarantees. I should have required this condition. 3. AFTER THE SALE SERVICE - Make sure that whomever you buy from offers guaranteed customer satisfaction. Salespeople are always super nice before the sale. What happens after the sale is what matters. City Mattress made it clear that ultimately, their focus had to be on their bottom line. I felt that my satisfaction as a customer, seemed to be lost in the dust. CONCLUSION - Am I responsible for what happened? Absolutely! That is why I am posting this note to myself as a reminder on how I should have gone about purchasing a new mattress set. I was stupid for not doing my homework and discovering a better way to buy. My intention for this post is not to influence other people's decision processes, but to make sure that I learn an important lesson. I made a stupid mistake and I do not plan on repeating it.
