Cigna denies claims automatically & lies -no physicians in PPO denies NAP program

Cigna denies claims using physicians that are NOT the same specialty as the doctor ordering the test. Despite requirement to provide physician name, I had to go through several agents to get the doctors name and found that the Cigna lied on a recorded line saying that the doctor denying claim for imaging was a "near-orthopedist". This specialty doesn't exist as such and when I looked up the doctor, they were a "family medicine" doctor. Cigna likewise doesn't have physicians in certain specialties in PPO plan, and when one attempts to use the NAP (network adequacy) program, the Cigna liaison gave me the run around for two months. When I called customer service to find out status, I learned on a recorded line that the Cigna agent never registered the request despite dozen of emails stating information to the contrary. Dozens of emails and recorded conversations documenting that Cigna doesn't have to accept PPO patients which is untrue. Cigna is out of integrity on many levels and provides inconsistent and misinformation from agent to agent.

To cancel an appeal

I needed to go to a rehab and Cigna was not part of their network so I had it appealed and that did not work either. So I found out in order for appeal to be canceled I have to do it my self with Cigna. So thats what I want is to cancel appeal so I can move forward. Horrible authorization process

This is by far the worst insurance company I have dealt with, Ive had prescriptions and tests denied with no reason. I have to call Cigna to find out why. Once I find the reason I have to call my doctor to explain what needs to be done. They dont lift a finger to call my doctors as to why the coverage was denied and in every instance it was a covered service. More info needed, not enough documentation or a code was incorrect. Its Cigna not communicating because its multiple doctors different services and offices and it happens almost every time I have some new medication or treatment required. Get this BS one of the most recent requests for authorization was my doctor increased the dosage of a medication I was on for over 2 years! Its the diabetes medication I missed a week off. Why cant the Cigna reps work worth the doctors and be more proactive instead of me having to be the middle man every time? I know why, most people give up and Cigna doesnt have to pay for covered services. Its all about money, its not the employees fault its Cignas process. Honestly its a full time job for me to continue following up and 100% of the time after hours of phone calls its approved. One time after weeks of calls I found out Cigna never sent over the paperwork when they said they did causing me to miss a week of diabetes medication!! In another instance I paid $500 out of pocket over 3 months for a medication only to find out they only will pay one month back. My company only offers Cignas *** insurance or Id definitely go with another company. Im so frustrated, when I ask to speak with a manger they are never available. I work full time and cant be doing this during the work day. Ive used most of my lunch and breaks over the month of April through May trying to get 2 prescriptions approved, a bill paid for anesthesia, (they said not a necessary service, when it was coded incorrectly) Who does surgery without anesthesia?!! A simple call to the office but no I had to call Cigna find out why the anesthesiologist wasnt paid and then call the anesthesiologist to call Cigna. This is just the last month of their BS, Ive been dealing with this *** for the last 3 years!

Accrued bill

I went to the ER and admitted for 6 days. Cigna doesn't use THAT hospital. And you expect me to pay the bill? I'm 64yo!! Do what you like. I'm NOT paying that bill !!!

Denial of life saving medication

I have the paperwork on hard copy & email to file a complaint with The Insurance commissioner's office & will also contact other agencies to start a class action lawsuit. Overcharge for PCP visit

Adventhealth Medical Group has one doctor and some Nurse Practi tioners. I have been seeing the ARNP instead of the Doctor. I have a zero copay for PCP visits. Cigna charged me $25.00 for the visit because I did not see the doctor. I have been billed that amount from the practice. Cigna said to bad so sad. Have changed plan and PCP for 2023. Terrible company.

No response on my request for a specific procedure I need done.

On August 12, 2022 a Cigna customer service rep stated they sent my request for approval. It is now September 30, and I still have no response. I also told them they classified my dental claim (from May 9, 2022) as an outpatient incorrectly. Well, they got back to me today, Sept. 30 and stated it was paid June 3. That was a different a different claim number. Why are they so incompetent?

Disgusting customer service

Every time I call I can hear there kids screaming in the background. When I ask to speak with the pharmacy they will not let me it is ridiculous. Just because I'm 65 plus doesn't mean I'm some kind of an idiot, Cigna is the most disgusting insurance I've ever had

Absolutely TERRIBLE Customer Service and SLOW AS MOLASSES processing times

We had an out of network claim we had to send in ourselves. The dental work was performed in 2/22. We mailed, fax AND emailed the claim. We still don't have our money back and it is now almost the end of June 22. Every time I call for info, I am given the same lame excuse about how it takes 60-90 days to process a claim. It's been well over that time frame. I have done my part. I have been hung up on. I have been told no manager is available, and I have been told no one can help my claim be processed faster. I finally got a hold of an email address, which gave me hope. Then some other person responded that wasn't the original person that replied asking for more info, and said the claim was already processed and paid to the provider because it was in network. So obviously, this person didn't even read my email or look at my attachment or they would know I am talking about a completely different claim. I have been given several different "confirmation" numbers with concern to my claim. Why are there more than one? No one will give me the actual claim number. We paid $1,000 up front for this medical procedure and have been waiting almost 5 months for our money back at this point. Completely ridiculous and unacceptable.

HOLDING SCRIP HOSTAGE

3 WEEKS AND I CAN GET NO WHERE! Can't talk to people in the USA, only people who LIE to you! They do not want to pay for my drugs they want me to go thru drug failures so I can be sick trying their formulatory drugs that have already been tried with a different insurance company. I now am out of pills and it is like "oh well" go pay for them yourself! Already got screwed once doing that (although with a different insurance company). 8 PHONE CALLS AND NO RESULTS, they request info from my doctor they reply and then well we need more info so they send it on a Friday afternoon so I can go without my drugs for the weekend as well who cares it is just my health. I am sure they would rather I just die and not be a burden to them.
