Appreciation Post for Chewy.com

Hey everyone! I just had to share my recent experience with Chewy.com, and I couldn't be happier with the way they handled the situation. I had been eagerly waiting to use a $30 gift card coupon on a purchase over $100. You can imagine my excitement as I added all the pet goodies to my cart, ready to apply the coupon and save some money. However, my joy turned to disappointment when I discovered that the coupon had already expired. I felt like it expired too soon after I received it, and I wasn't sure if anything could be done about it. But here's where Chewy.com impressed me beyond measure! I decided to reach out to them through their forum to explain the issue. I didn't have to wait long at all before they responded to my inquiry, and guess what? They offered me a full $30 refund as compensation for the expired coupon! I couldn't believe how quickly they addressed the problem and went above and beyond to remedy my grievance. It's not often you come across such excellent customer service these days, but Chewy.com truly knows how to take care of their customers. So, here's a big shoutout and a heartfelt thank you to Chewy.com! Your prompt assistance and willingness to make things right have won me over as a loyal customer. I hope my experience will encourage others to continue making purchases from Chewy.com with confidence, knowing they stand by their customers and go the extra mile. If you're a pet owner looking for a reliable and caring online store, look no further than Chewy.com! They have fantastic products and, most importantly, an amazing customer support team. Thank you, Chewy.com!

No customer support

Went through the whole process to get authorization code to talk to customer support. Soon as I typed it in, it took me to a page asking me if my problem was resolved. I got charged for and shipped for an order I didnt place. I want to send it back and credit my account, but dont know how to. I want someone to call me ASAP!

Question on order

I have had COVID that made me lose some of my memory. I couldn't for the life of me remember what kind of flea meds I bought. Then I remembered that I had ordered them through Chewy. I called and asked the girl, she was so kind and understanding and looked the meds right up. So I ordered them because she offered and I was afraid I would forget again. I put them on reorder so they would come again and I wouldn't have to feel stupid, thanks for all your help!!!

Delivery Complaint

My grandmother just got the kitty litter box system that requires her to order pads and pellets. She ordered from you guys and was very pleased til it was delivered. On our front door there is a clear bright colored sign that asks for all delieveries of packages to be put right inside on front porch and not outside on the stairs. For one thing what if it rained And the next being the box is heavy with the pellets. I dont want her to get hurt trying lift it off the stairs. When she cant lift. There is no way the delivery driver couldnt see that sign. Pls address this with whoever delivered the package bc we still want to use Chewy but not if cant follow simple instructions. Thanks again for your time.

Prescription

Original review Jun 03, 2023
I recently called chewy for a prescription my dog needed asap. I couldn't afford the emergency clinics high price, so they suggested chewy pharmacy. I was told I could call them, and then send them a copy of the prescription I was given to expedite the meds. I did as told by clinic. Chewy told me no need to send in Rx, they would call the clinic to verify, gave all info. Next day received an email that rx. Order needed to be mailed in! This is a holiday weekend, my pet needs the antibiotic asap, this is not a narcotic, and now my dog is without her meds, until the prescription reaches chewy pharmacy in Tennessee, and who knows when they will fill it, and send it regular mail! Although, I have used their services for other products, and it had been great as far as the pharmacy it is horrible!! Never will I use them for a prescription no matter how economical it may be. Now my dogs health is in jeopardy, because of their lack of empathy! Os been a week since I called, and still no meds! CHEWY...If you call a vets clinic with all the info, you know the prescription was given for that specific pet! It's not made up, and you could accept a fax to begin the process, and maybe also have the original sent via mail! Not a good service

Resolved: E-card service not reliable

Updated by user May 24, 2023

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund.

Original review May 14, 2023
After the horrible experience purchasing and scheduling an e-gift card ($75) for my mom for Mothers Day Ill never give Chewy my money again. I got an email stating it would be delivered on 5/15 not 5/14. Thinking I had messed up I called and found out it had already been delivered. She never received anything, checking her junk box as well. I called back yet again and was recommended to send this and future ecards to my own email address, then forward them to the recipient. Pretty poor advice in my opinion. They mentioned emailing it to me and I told them to do whatever was easiest. I had them send the email to my email address so that I could forward it. I was told that should be done in approximately one hour. I waited and received nothing. I called a third time and was told that because my email is associated with an account the card would be loaded to my account as a credit which defeats the entire purpose. Customer service, then advised me to order what she wanted for Mothers Day, and ship it to her. At this point, I was extremely angry because what is the point in offering an E gift card if I have to order FOR SOMEONE ELSE?!? At this point I just wanted a refund. I was told that I could not get a refund because it was posting as a credit on my account. I was advised to try purchasing the gift card with the credit on my account once it posts. Being furious, I hung up. After having different people, tell me different things every time I called I decided to try again. I called one last time and asked for a refund. The person on the line pulled up my account and told me that the refund will be processed in 3 to 5 business days. I have yet to receive a confirmation regarding this. I am not just flabbergasted, but absolutely appalled by how difficult this process was and how no one in your company is on the same page. If youre wondering why youre losing money and customers I would definitely consider resolving this problem.

Used to be good, now they are a nightmare!

Original review May 08, 2023
I have used Chewy for several years for my cats food and Breeze litter supplies through their subscription service. Once, they didnt have the EXACT items for my subscription in stock, and I got an email saying I could order replacement items with free shipping (code provided.) The problem is that the code didnt work; I had to buy extra product to get free shipping (I figured it would get used, right?) Then the item came back in stock, and they shipped the subscription! Suddenly I was buried in product and had spent WAY more than I had budgeted for! I thought it was a fluke until we got a puppy; then this nightmare happened: I ordered the 54 x 34 x 30 Frisco Heavy Duty Enhanced Lock Double Door Fold & Carry Wire Dog Crate & Mat Kit. It arrived in a box that had been previously opened and then taped shut again. All the cables to secure things inside the box had been cut, and the pieces had all been shoved back into the box in such a way that they were all caught on each other and bent badly (despite being a heavy-duty metal crate.) We had to cut the box open to get the pieces out. It then took us over an hour JUST TO SEPARATE the parts and another two hours to assemble (as it required bending many of the pieces back into place as much as possible.) When we finally got it together, we discovered that the side door did not latch or swing properly due to bending in the frame (we tested the door before assembly; it swung and latched fine. However, once held straight, there is not room for the bent pieces to flex enough to work.) Also, the bars dont line up with the latching mechanism. Finally, the ad says (in three places) that there is a divider, but there was not one in our box. Chatting with a Chewy rep, I asked to be sent a replacement panel for the one broken side preventing us from using the crate as intended. I was told this could not be done (which, I get, in theory. But why pay to ship a whole crate here and back when we only need one piece?) I was offered ONLY two options: 1. Spend another $216 to buy another crate and eventually get a refund or 2. Request a replacement BOTH of these options, I was told, could be completed ONLY AFTER I disassemble, rebox, and return the entire crate we had just finally put together. Other than repeatedly saying that they understood I was frustrated, there was no consideration for: - the time and energy I had already spent assembling the crate OR - the time and energy I would have to spend disassembling the crate OR - the week I had already spent waiting for the crate to arrive OR - the MONTH (at least) I would spend with a puppy but no crate because I would have to wait 5-7 days for the box (which I had to specifically ask how I would get one before they said they could send me a new one) to arrive, then rebox the crate, then notify Fex ex it was ready to be picked up, likely wait 1-2 days for them to pick it up, wait 5-7 days for the box to get back to Chewy, wait god knows how long for the replacement to be processed, wait 5-7 days for the replacement to ship out, cross my fingers that the replacement wasnt also broken, and finally assemble another 32 cubic feet of crate. OR - if I bought a second $216 crate, the week IT would take to arrive, AND cross my fingers that the replacement wasnt also broken, AND finally assemble another 32 cubic feet of crate. OR - the fact that Chewy sold me something someone else had obviously returned without even checking to see if it was in a condition to resell and/or if all the parts were still there. ***I was notified two days later that they can not, in fact, send me a box to return the crate in, but I am welcome to buy one from Fed Ex!*** It is NOT MY FAULT that Chewy failed to verify that the previously returned item was not damaged. It is NOT MY FAULT that Chewy failed to confirm that all the pieces were in the box before reselling it. It is NOT MY FAULT that the crate is bent so badly that it doesnt work properly. But Chewy apparently thinks it should be ENTIRELY MY RESPONSIBILITY to do all the work (multiple times,) be out twice the cost of the product, buy a replacement box, be without the product I paid for, and/or eat the loss entirely. I did not ask for a free crate. I did not ask for a discount on my crate. I did not ask for a credit. I did not even ask them to provide me with the missing divider. I ONLY asked them to replace the one panel, which was so broken it rendered the entire crate non-functional! I do not find this to be acceptable customer service. So, we suspended our subscriptions and sent in a review of the crate, including our opinion of Chewys service. That review is under review (and has been for four days as of 05/08/23.) We will see if they actually care or not. In the meantime, if you get a large or bulky item that appears damaged in any way, send it back immediately. Dont try to work with it, or you might be stuck with it.

MOLD IN CAN WET FOOD-DENTED CANS REPEATEDLY

My dog is on a special prescription diet after surgery on her stomach from chewing, eating a workmans rag at our home. Chewys cans arrived dented, which if you dont know, it is unsafe to eat food from dented cans, especially by the seals, sides, tops. Do not feed that to your pets! Her food is canned, wet dog food which was sweaty meaning not kept cool enough. Can after can contained black mold specks and spots. She was sick and I did not see the mold at first until I opened one can with a big black mold spot! I went through the cans and saw small black specks of mold all through out the food. Shed been sick and eating grass. I couldnt figure out why. Lose stools, lethargic, water guzzling. Shes now in treatment for mold detox. Shes a very healthy well cared for loved family member and now we are hoping she recovers. Chewys quality control has gone completely downhill. Shipping and product protection. Please

Chewy makes customer jump thru hoops for refund on item damaged by FedEx

Ordered 3 boxes of 40 pounds of litter. ALL # boxes broken open. The box that 1 bag was in was extra trashed. Looked like someone jumped on it, or threw it. Definitely FedEx's fault. The drivers HATE Chewy deliveries, especially the litter ( have had drivers tell me this)and they throw the boxes around. The box was open at the top and bottom of the centre, the tape ripped. The bag of litter had burst open. You can see it in the picture. This is NOT the top of the bag, but the seam just under it. This seam is fragile, and will split easily if jumped on or crushed. There was also a first-sized hole in the bag, which was probably done when the driver grabbed the box, as it was open at the top and bottom. Definitely caused by the driver grabbing it and ripping. Lost about half of the litter. There was a trail from the street to my door. I was at my Dr appointment when it came. My husband cleaned that up as it was going to rain and he didn't know to take a pic. I did take a pic of the canister of my vac which shows several inches of litter where the spillage inside was cleaned up. I won't be ordering litter from Chewy while FedEx is still delivering. Too many damaged bags, I can get a 38 lb. bundle of Fresh Step from Target for under 17 with my discount and it is delivered by UPS. They are more careful and considerate. The FedEx driver also stacked the three 40 lb boxes of litter against my front door. My door opens out, so if I was the only one home, which is most days, I'd have had to call a neighbour to move them as I am 72 and disabled. Would not be able to get out of the door. That is not safe. FedEx knows this and the driver used to help put the box just inside my door. Now they just toss the stuff and don't even ring the bell to let me know it is there. I am not the only one fed up with FedEx. My friends all USED to order from Chewy as I had always recommended your company and have now switched due to FedEx's antics. I have been a Chewy customer since the first, before PetSmart bought it and I am so disappointed with Chewy's permitting the damaged deliveries to continue. Didn't have a problem when UPS delivered. Despite sending FIVE close up pictures of the damaged box and ripped bag, plus the litter spilled inside my home, Chewy insists I send the bag, box and litter remains back. SRSLY? Who would keep the trash considering I had been told before that with a damaged item, just send detailed pics. Chewy knows this happens, there are other reviews with pics of the damage like this. I tried to file a review on Chewy and they blocked it. Truth hurts Posting pics I sent and the review they would not post.
