Poor customer service

I would recommend not purchasing direct from the Chandra website. Their customer service is terrible and they are not upfront about shipping costs and additional fees. I was not given the exact shipping cost at time of purchase, and then received multiple charges on my credit card without any communication from company. I have reached out several times to the company and they have not responded.

Buyer Beware

We purchased a chandra rug through an online a dealer, Heavensgate Home and Garden. The rug had a substance coming off it. We first noticed it on the socks and hands of our young son. We sent photos and were invited by the dealer to send the rug back. The company claimed this had never happened before ever and told us that despite their best efforts, they found the returned rug defect free. The dealer stood with the manufacturer, because they hadn't actually seen the actual rug. They hoped we'd understand that they did not believe us. As with any return, they charged us 20% of the cost of the rug plus shipping to us and back. (Originally shipping was free). We were charged almost $400 for no rug at all. The dealer offered to compensate us by deducting the full cost of the rug from a much more expensive rug, but we were not going down that road. 20% of $3000 is $600. If we returned that rug for whatever reason, we would be out over $1000. Plus how could we do more business with either the dealer or Chandra and live with ourselves.

Bought an expensive supposedly high quality rug that is falling apart

I moved to a new home and bought an area rug for the living room. I wanted a good quality rug that would last and I found a "Chandra" rug that had the colors I needed. I was assured where I bought the rug that it was of high quality.I also checked out the Chandra website and they emphasized high design and high quality. It is a *** type of carpet and was told that you cannot vacuum rug . I understood this and did not use vacuum on the rug. I have had it less that 6 mo and it is already fraying and NOT wearing as it should . It is in the living room. It is walked on but I have no children and only gets moderate traffic. All areas that are in the path that you would walk on ...the rug is fraying already! I called Rug Expo first and sent pictures of what was happening. They said that they could do nothing that I would have to call manufacturer. I did and after several tries managed to speak with Chandra himself who was rude and just kept saying that he never had this happen and that I used vacuum on the rug (which is untrue)! I cannot believe that a company that sells this type of rug does not stand behind the product. I am left with a rug of poor quality that nobody will exchange. It will probably not last even one year. What kind of way is this to run a business? I am really mad ....mind you, I did not even ask for a refund...would have been happy with an exchange!!!!
