They overcharged me and I got zero new business

I negotiated what I thought was a decent deal because there was no way I was paying $3500 for my tiny one man repair business. We finally arrived at a number I could afford but the guy did not leave me a copy of the agreement. Now a year later and I got zero phone calls much less any new customers from the service and they are having lawyers calling me threatening me over the last $330 payment that I couldn't make because that business did not survive COVID and Biden. The guy did not give me the deal I negotiated but instead charged me full price but I do not have a copy of the agreement. I would stay far away from this worthless and shady business.

You do not have to pay.

Cartvertising at IndoorMedia tried to get me to pay for services I didn't receive. Just like all the comments below. Their contract looks scary but it's full of holes. If you're in the same situation, dispute all charges on your credit card and request they stop billing you. If they threaten, call their bluff. They have no legs to stand on. They're a shady scam artist company. Stand up for yourself. I talked to my lawyer. And I didn't pay for anything.

Need to know the FTC Rules and Regulations

This company needs to review the Federal Trade Commission Laws. The Seller Must Tell You About Your Right To Cancel By law, the seller has to tell you at the time of the sale about your right to cancel. The seller also must give you Two copies of a cancellation form. One copy is for you to keep. The other copy is to send to the seller if you decide to cancel your purchase. A copy of your contract or receipt. The contract or receipt should be dated, show the name and address of the seller, and explain your right to cancel. Note: The contract or receipt must be in the same language that's used in the sales presentation. I only received one copy of my "order." So I cannot mail them a copy. It's okay I own a copy machine. Also, these old slimy sales techniques don't work anymore. I said "No" at least 5 times and my sales person kept pushing. I'm a rape survivor. Not good business. I would hate for this to get to the media or in the hands of the me too movement. If a person says "no!" their voice matters more than your commission. Additionally the woman who set up the sales meeting informed me that "It's really great advertising for only $395!" Come to find out the $395 is the initial fee for ad creation. Then you have to pay $450-$600/month for 8 months after that. I already lost one business due to COVID. It's a shame that scams like this exist in this day and age. Lastly, after leaving my sales meeting, I posted on social media. I am a member of 36,000 member Facebook group with other individuals in my field. I asked how many have done this type of advertising and actually received a return on their investment. Every single person who commented saying they got sucked into this, had big fat ZERO return and it was a waste of money. Additionally, I posted a poll for my friends to ask how many times any of them had ever purchased a product or service from a shopping cart. They all said ZERO! So I'm mailing this "Company" my certified letter informing them of my 3 day right to cancel, and I cancelled my debit card. My "NO!" matters. Your "NO!" matters. If you're looking to cancel within your cooling off period, here's the steps to take (from the FTC Website) Note: You don't have to give a reason for canceling. You have a right to change your mind. To cancel a sale, sign and date one copy of the cancellation form. Mail it to the address given for cancellations. Make sure the envelope is postmarked before midnight of the third business day after the contract date. If the seller didn't give you cancellation forms, write a cancellation letter. It must be postmarked within three business days of the sale. Send the cancellation form or letter by certified mail. You'll get a return receipt so you have proof of when you mailed it and when it was delivered. Also, keep a copy of the letter or cancellation form for your records.

Incredibly disappointed

I CANNOT WARN YOU ENOUGH, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ADVERTISING. I hope this review helps to shed some light on those in consideration of signing on. Based on our experience, we highly regret signing up for this program. There is a lot to get into for this review. If nothing else, please DONT SIGN UP. We were approached by their regional salesperson, Nancy, without an invitation. She showed up one day saying she had this great opportunity for us. We had literally JUST opened our new store a couple weeks before the pandemic hit, so things were financially tight as it was. We knew we had to advertise somehow, so we reviewed her packet. It seemed like a good idea to get our ad in front of shoppers, but we were hesitant to drop that kind of money. And it was a yearly contract. RED FLAG # 1. NEVER sign up for advertising programs that lock you into a contract, especially not a long term contract. She talked to us for about an hour. Finally, we said we would consider the opportunity and get back to her once we had taken the time, weigh our options, and see if this was program would be a good fit for us. She said we had to make a decision today. RED FLAG # 2. NEVER fall for the must do it right now! tactic. Unfortunately, we did. We signed up for a year long of misery and disappointment. The cost of this program is thousands of dollars. This is expensive for a small business with only 3 employees. We did our own artwork and sent over the proofs for printing. The person in charge of our account accepted our artwork and then we waited. And waited. No response. RED FLAG #3 was COMMUNICATION. We finally contacted them and inquired when our ads would be installed. They said they had already been done a week ago. They should have told us that it was done the moment it was completed. There were several times we sent e-mails with our questions and artwork, and were met with silence. We felt that we were not a priority to them once we had signed the contract. By the time 6 months started to come around, we looked at our overall performance and we received a grand total of ZERO inquiries. There were ZERO customers calling about the ads, asking about our business, walking in to see what it was. There was NOTHING. We had received no follow-up from Cartvertising at any time during our contract. They never bothered to e-mail or call to even see if we were doing ok, liked our ad, or anything like that. Our so called rep Nancy hadnt communicated with us since we signed on the dotted line. So it is around this time for us to change out our ads. It is around 2 weeks away from December and we still havent heard from ANYONE. We finally reach out asking when we were supposed to have the new ad in. They informed us that it's due in 5 days if we want to change it out. This is more than just lack of communication, we felt that they had COMPLETELY ignored us. Now we had to come up with a new ad, get it approved and ready for print in 5 days. At this point we were furious. We requested to speak to Nancy and see if there is any way that we could end the contract there at the 6 months instead of replacing the ad since they are going out there to change them anyway. Again, we heard NOTHING from them. Our rep was nowhere to be found. The person we talked to sent her emails and CCed us, but we still heard nothing from Nancy. This made us feel that Nancy was not caring about our concerns at this point. After all, we are locked into a contract. So we bite the bullet and come up with a new ad, one that incorporated coupons, hoping SOMEONE will call in. At the end of our contract, the pandemic restrictions are lifting and we have seen absolutely ZERO responses from the new ad. We decided that at this point we are forking out hundreds of dollars every month so that our ads can sit there and get dusty in the holding area. We have gone to Smith's to see if our ads were there. While we did see some ads, it was difficult to tell if they had put in the promised amount of ads on their carts. Based on our experiences, it made it difficult to trust them that they really had put on the promised amount of ads on the carts. The only way we could know for sure is we would have to sit there and count them. This entire experience has made them very untrustworthy. After almost an entire year of ZERO communication, we get a call from Nancy. This was sadly typical from a rep that seemed to only be concerned with making his or her quota. Its time to follow up with customers for renewals. We made sure to let her know everything we have been going through and that we definitely werent interested in renewals. She proceeded to ARGUE with us saying that this kind of advertising wasnt trackable and that basically we just have to trust the system. Had she bothered to mention this detail to us, we might not have signed the contract. No businessperson is going to make an investment if they are not going to see any data of the gains that have been made. Finally, we told her it didnt matter, because we didnt have ANY return of investment to validate the spending. It was simply too much money. Instead of saying OK and moving on, she continued ARGUING with us that it wasnt expensive at all. We dont know how else to tell someone that thousands of dollars on a useless ad is EXPENSIVE FOR A SMALL BUSINESS. It was insulting to listen to someone that had no vested interest in our business tell us we could afford this. Her persistence was not professional. Further into this conversation, we tell her that the major issue with the whole program is lack of communication. We never had our questions answers or concerns responded to. She informed us that she ran 4 states. If you aren't going to take the time to help your customer, then you shouldn't be in that business. When we pay thousands of dollars in an advertisement program, we don't want excuses, we want results. In conclusion, we feel that this program was a complete WASTE OF MONEY, WASTE OF TIME, SERIOUS LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, and sadly, EASY TO GET SCAMMED. Please dont do it. Save yourself before youre locked into a financial hole of despair. Thank you for reading. I hope you can learn from our mistake.

Waste of money

Do not waste your money, I fell to check reviews before buying this advertising, I didn't get one client for a whole year that I pay for this service when I lost my job because COVID 19, I call customer service to see if they can help me because I could pay the bill, Shery informs me that they couldn't do anything about it, they don't care that I lost my job, and I better pay or they will send me to a collection agency, they are super nice before they get there money but after they got it, YOU don't matter anymore.

Seems legit so far

I have been doing this for 9 months now and have to sayvit hasn't gone like anyone on here mentioned. They called me out of the blue and were a little pushy in terms of getting me to sign up, but my ads went up in the Safeway and since COVID hit my phone has been ringing off the hook. Maybe it was just good timing on my part, but I came across these 20 or so posts from what seems like tens of thousands of consumers and figured I could add my experience.

RUN!!!!!!

Salesman guaranteed 5 to 1 ROI return as well a business exclusive. Over $4000 withdrawn before the first coupon was ever loaded in the Kroger register. $7680 withdrawn since September..5 coupons redeemed including 1 from two competing businesses!...my business that I was paying an exclusive on wasn't even on the coupon!!! The competing business in Florence, KY was also promised an exclusive. We have both hired attorneys, are contacting Kroger to let them know they have scam artists as vendors, as well several TV investigative news stations. RUN as fast as you can from these con artists!!!

Terrible experience. DO NOT SIGN THEIR CONTRACT

I signed up for cartvertising without realizing how shady they were. First I am told that someone would get a hold of me by email in one week to start on the advertising. I was very hesitant when they said it would take 3 months before I would see my finished product on the carts but the lady was very persausive that it was normal and that it all would be amazing. After 2 weeks of no word I contacted the same sales lady back letting her know of my fears. She says they should get a hold of me soon. By the time they contacted me it was because their first initial payment didn't go through since I closed my account with my bank. By this time I actually decided to disolve the business. Even though I am based in Utah and legally I have a right to get out of a contract if the business is no longer valid. Sherri laughed on the phone and said good luck with that since they are not base in Utah. But I will have the last laugh since I am taking them to court. Since it is a Utah court then I am using all of the info I have and bad reviews to show what a shady business this is. I hope their business completely goes under. No one should have to deal with people like this or such harassing behavior when they call you 7 times a day. Can't wait to see their faces in person when I get it closed.

Scam Artisits!

Updated by user Oct 11, 2019
The picture listed was taken on October 6th, 2019. I signed the contract in March 2019 with everything being done prior to June 1, 2019. The contract still has not been fulfilled but my money was taken!

This company will never call you back and will fail to deliver your ads on the carts. I am eight months in and I still don't have 100% of the carts done correctly. To ad insult to injury, the Store Manager of my Safeway called for me to do the ad and now he knows nothing! DONT waste your money!

Bad sales rep

The sales rep. Darwin Stetzer came into our facility and was extremely rude to my Executive Director and wouldn't give her any numbers even though we just had a contract with them last year. He acted like he probably didn't even remember what our cost was last year and told her she needed to sign the contract to find out the numbers. This is absolutely absurd because no one would sign a contract without knowing the cost. He grabbed the sheet out of her hand and said that he would give the ad to someone else. I would never expect someone who is in sales to act like this when they are asking a company to pay for their goods. He should be fired!!

Shady Sales People and Rude Billing Dept.

If I could give a negative star I would. I live in Southwestern Colorado and dealt with Randy Yegge. He seemed knowledgeable but pushy in the beginning. Not the best personality but I decided to try it for a year. My subscription doesn't expire until October of this year. Randy comes into my office on Thursday of last week to tell me he has been leaving me messages for 3 weeks to ask if I wanted to extend. Strangely, I never received any messages via my office or my cell phone, which is obviously on my Ad, that he was promoting for me. He tells me that I have 2 days to decide if I want to proceed with extending the $4200 Advertisement for the year. Even thought my year does not expire for another 3 months. I tell him I will get back to him by Friday as he requested. He was less than nice and that winning personality flashed again. I sent him an email at the end of the day on Friday to tell him I would shoot for another year. I got a response yesterday he already sold it to another realtor and I missed out. It was obvious he had sold that before the end of the day on Friday and just tried to put it off on me. In addition to this horrible customer service experience, the billing dept called me because they were trying to charge me an amount over my limit and the billing dept girl called me and started arguing with me. She was so rude. I guess I should have just told him No when he came in. But ultimately, I was only considering renewing because I like to keep my advertising consistent. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. ESPECIALLY THIS SALES PERSON, RANDY. SHADY!! I should have read the reviews before. Because there are a ton of bad reviews on these people!

Ripped Off

They did not provide the service they promised in their contract. I had only a few carts with advertisements in the stores I was promised. I reached out to them and provided pictures of these stores and nothing was done about it. I even offered to meet them at the locations for proof of lack of service and they wouldn't meet me there but they still wanted me to pay them. This company is a ripp off. They will not provide whats agreed upon in their contract nor will they rectify their issues when its brought to their attention and they provide poor customer service. I wouldn't refer them to anyone. Costly with Horrible services. Very Pissed Customer!

Worst customer service, deceptive sales people

They didn't do anything on their end they said they would. I gave a deposit, followed by a 2nd deposit and not until I tried to cancel did the salesperson contact her marketing department to get in touch with me about my cart pictures and design. They couldn't work with any of the pictures I sent them - so they took it upon themselves to just throw together anything just to say they did there part. I've been to the Mariano';s store over the past few months and I've seen maybe a handful of carts with my ad. Today there were actually none that I could see - they pulled them all - sold them to someone else and are suing me for the entire balance. Trust me don't work with these people. The woman I worked with was your typical, all talk salesperson that can care less about anything but getting a sale.

Deceptive trade practices

We signed and paid for a 12 month contract, they altered the document by drawing a line through 12 month and hand wrote “6 month”! Liars and thieves.

Same customers for many years

I have noticed the same advertisers on the Carts in my area for multiple years. They must love the Branding it provides why else would they continue it for so long.

Horrible Customer Service & Misleading Their Clients

This company has absolutely horrible customer service. They are very misleading and don’t care about their customers. I am a Real Estate Agent that was sold advertisement on ½ of the front of carts and ½ of the back of the carts. When the ads came out I found out I only had a ¼ of the carts and they sold a competing Real Estate Agent the other ¼ of the carts. When I called and complained to the agent that sold me the advertising she was extremely nasty. Then went to the above management and they did NOTHING and could care a less that they had an unhappy customer. The sales rep all the way up the chain to the top could care a less about their customers. This isn’t the way you should do business. STAY AWAY from them or make sure your contract is clear that you are exclusive. That’s what they pulled on me that I did not sign an exclusive agreement. I wish I read all of the complaints about this company before I decided to do business with them! Buyer BEWARE!
