Theft concerns, smell in room

Spoke with customer service gentleman at corporate. He listened to my concerns and was very polite. Pasadena facility called me, but not real confident there will be a resolution. Hopefully this doesnt happen to someone else, but at least they are aware of problem.

Attitude and integrity of the General Manager Chesapeake Location

Let me start off by saying, my husband and I stayed at the Fort Lee, Va location for about a month through via his employer and every staff member was legitimately amazing, nice, respectful, and accommodating; however, the Chesapeake location manager and stay has not been the same. My husband checked in on Sunday, July 9th, at that time he inquired if a king bed was available. The front desk person who checked us in advised him that it was not, but to inquire daily. Well, Monday morning I awoke to no power and it being out for about 2.5 - 3 hours. (I travel with my husband as he works and I work remotely. I was with him at the Fort Lee location, so I can a test to the superior service at that location.) Also, while the power was out it became a little hot in the room, so I left for a few hours, when I came back there were two men in the room that said they were switching out the microwave for an enclosed one. I was taken back because no one had advised that this would be taking place. Especially when the power just came back on, we just checked in the day before, nor did anyone advise when I walked and passed the front desk that maintenance (two men) would be in the room. Tuesday, (today) I came back from an outing and who I would assume to be the general manager was at the front desk. My husband asked me to inquire about the king bed again, and he had also misplaced his key. I first requested the keys. She asked my name and I told her she checked the log and looked at me with this look and said "What's the last name!" with an attitude. I spelled it for her, and she said "OH, I thought you said Hurt!" I then went on to inquire about the king bed, and she proceeded to get very nasty with her reply of, "I already told my staff to tell you no! Your husband is with McLean they have to make that request!" I replied, "I'm aware, we've been doing this for years, but we first need to know when the room will be available for him to make the request to the employer. She said more but instead of matching her energy, I walked away. By the time I got to the room my husband called me and asked about the interaction which at the time I chalked it up to she must be having a bad day. This "manager" called my husband's job (Rhonda, the coordinator) and LIED on me advising that I was trying to change the room!!! I simply inquired if one was available so that my husband can reach out to his employer coordinator, to request the upgrade. Your employee seems to have an issue that needs to be addressed. Making accusations that are clearly NOT true on a person who is here working could have had some type of adverse effect. We live in a world where people can call the police and lie on people to have them arrested for no reason is equivalent to calling a person's employer and lying while they are staying at one of your facilities. It was uncalled-for. My husband would have reached out to his employer on his own, the same way we did at the Fort Lee location. All she had to do was advise when the room was available. I would suggest some type of training or removing her from a position that requires her interaction with all types of people. I would also like to add issues with the room. The bathroom shower curtain was only snapped in half way, ( no big deal but the towels had other peoples hair in them) Also, the microwave does not have a fan for cooking and the windows do not open making for a very steamy cooking process. If he was only here for a week no big deal; however, we will be here for the minimum of a month. When I called the front desk to inquire if the smoke alarm will go off she said, "It's fine, it won't be the first time.

Room problems

Lady pretended like she was the boss of the hotel when she was the executive housekeeper? Came up to my room and told me oh no candlewood sweets first doesn't offer cleaning for weekly stays to oh you get it once a week then you have to clean the room yourself and vacuum your floor and go get everything at the front desk and this all started over asking for room service and being denied because we had it 3 days prior but it was half *** cleaning and had to go get 80% of the stuff as the house keeper didn't leave anything

Bad stay from the beginning

First they gave me a handicap room. Then there was no remote. They had to change the whole TV. Maintenance was back and forth in my room for about an hour and a half. Then I ordered food and I went to reheat my food and the microwave did not work and they could not replace it till tomorrow. I'm very upset.

Dissatisfied

The hotel was not clean, it smells like smoke, bugs were behind the doors, no kitchen utensils, no iron, blood was on the walk, air was not working properly only one worker was pleasant, and her Name was Shameka. They move us to another room, and it was worst the first one and they wouldn't give my money back, so I could have gone to another hotel I have stayed in plenty of IHG hotels because my son plays travel baseball and this was by far the absolute worst I've never experienced anything like this

Candelwood Suites College Station

Original review Jun 07, 2023
Unprofessional and uncooperative staff located in College Station, Texas. Multiple keys issued to numerous people not affiliated with the booking party. Personal belongings stolen. Upon investigating the incident, we were told the manager would be in to handle the situation and we are four days in with no contact from her. We have asked multiple times for surveillance to be pulled and were told the manager had to be present. Again, she is never around when it is said she would be. Some of her staff says she is not coming in that day and others say shes been at the hotel all day. A new room was requested after the incident due to feelings associated with invasion of privacy. Ten hours of waiting for a new room, we were told that we denied the request for a new room which is untrue. With some research, I have been able to find a name of the operations manager and her personal number. I will attempt to make contact again.

Horrible stay

I checked into Candlewood Suites Dallas Market Center-Love Field, an IHG Hotel on Thursday,April 13th with my puppy. On Saturday April 15th while sitting on my bed I began to smell weed. I looked down on the floor beside my bed and found my puppy licking a bulb of weed. I dont smoke so this mustve been left behind from the previous guest. I immediately picked it up with a napkin and went to the front desk to advise. The manager seemed surprised but failed to ask any questions about my puppy. She offered a $50 credit which is definitely not enough. While at the front desk I advised my bathroom sink was stopped up and when I brushed my teeth the water and spit just sat in the sink. Another complaint was it took multiple attempts for my door to open when inserting the key card. I explained how this could be a safety hazard. The girl at the front desk advised me the card readers are old and this happens sometimes. Later that day I watched my puppy begin to show signs of weed toxicity. She seemed confused and began vomiting. Being that I am not from Dallas and was only visiting I didnt have access to her vet. I am very upset this happened and am requesting a full refund on my stay. I will be taking my puppy to the vet on Monday, April 17th to make sure there are no further complications. This incident ruined the rest of my trip.

My entire stay was extremely unpleasant. Customer Service and Hospitality was terrible.

I hate it, I want all my money back from this stay in Overland Park, Kansas City. My first bad experience was, when I checked in about 2am. It was 39 degrees and it was no tea bags. I flew in from Florida which was 82 degrees warmer. I got to my room and went to sleep. I woke up and noticed that the bathroom was not cleaned. Urine was on the toilet and the towels had been used which had hair on I called the front desk and the clerk argued with me saying that the room was cleaned as if I was lying. After, going back and forward with her, she finally sent housekeeping to my room. I then woke up like 6am and checked my checking account and had (3) different charges from Candlewood Suites. (1) $446.43 which is the amount for my stay(2) $134.44 (3) $159.44 also a $25.00 deposit. I went to the front desk and the clerk said come back at 8:30 am. I went back at 9:35 am and the clerk said she dont know why it charged me those many times and the only thing that she can do is stop it from charging me again and that a Manager is not on duty today 3/26/23. I want all my money back because I cant finish my finish my vacation Im from Florida I have no more money,,,.

Manager at Sulphur is using me to bully her brother

It's been months since I stayed at the Candlewood in Sulphur, Louisiana. The manager, Claire Parish, is using me to paranoid her brother, Cole, who used to work there. She is having people lie to him that I am posting about him on Facebook. She was mean to me when I was there because of my being an LGBTQIA+ ally and because I was impressed with Cole's artwork that he showed me. She didn't like that he and I shared some of the same interests and took it out on me by being mean, having a fit about my service dog PIDDLING in a flower bed which she only did because other animals went there, using that as an excuse to REQUIRE checking my room, then insisting that my clean room was dirty and that she was going to have to repaint the walls and change the carpet (she made the AGM, Darrell Spencer, come up with her and I could tell that he was extremely uncomfortable). It is NOT RIGHT for her to use me like that. Her brother messaged me claiming that somebody messaged him to say that I am posting about him
