Every promise camping world has made is false

Bought a brand new Forest River palomino camper. Everything was supposed to be gone through and checked out and ready to take off! First time I hooked up water camper totally flooded! Took that to get fixed hot water heater was broke, thermostat was broke, promise that if I had any problems out of state camping world will put me to the top of list and make sure I was taken care of. Wife's first trip out of state, switch to make the camper top open would not work! Took it to camping world Colorado springs. They stated they had no time to look at it! But took plenty of time to offer me $17,000 less than I paid for a trade in on a new trailer. Left me and my disabled wife camping in the cab of my pickup for six nights. Had to stop our trip drive 1200 miles back to Oregon. Camper is now in Medford Oregon at camping world. Service department is taking care of multitude problems! They make money doing that you know! They are paid to do warranty work! I have made it very clear that I want nothing less than what I put down for this camper the payments I made, and they could apply that to a different unit and I would buy from them. they are unwilling to do anything unless there's profit in it for them. Stay away from camping world!

Terrible workmanship and service. 0 stars from me

Needed slide out floor fixed due to poor outside seal. Water had gotten in and started to rot it out. It took us 8 months to get it fixed, and they did a terrible job. The service there was horrible. My husband would have to always call to inquire on it. They were horrible at getting back to us. Then after 8 months we get to go get it. My husband called to see if it was ready to get picked up and the lady at the desk said, it is and that the new floor they put in has a slight different tint to it. It was way off, and it has a long air bubble under it. Cracked pieces of trim. Trim pulled away. Bottom corner wall looks bubbled out and corner was wet. The cap on the outside slider wasn't on right, but they ended up sealing on that way. While sealing the outside. They used the wrong sealer. I had them fix some things that they could fix before we left. I feel we should've gotten a phone call to let us know they couldn't get the same flooring. I'm sure there could've been other options. Even could have put a rug that would have matched because that flooring in there now looks hideous. The pics I sent is how it looked after they got done fixing it. This how the expected us to take it home.

Because they suck

I would buy a camper off a *** before I go to those feckless bastards again.

Original review Jul 31, 2023
Bought a used camper from Camping world in June this year. Coxsackie,New York. Everything was fine till the camper got delivered. Ong story short after we got the camper leveled I went inside to turn on the water to get some water going through the camper. My buddy went outside to open the tanks to let the water out when I immediately heard we got *** Toilet paper, shit, and the topping on the cake were a couple of tampons that plooped out. Lets say I was pissed. Then went back inside and found water on the floor. Whatever type of hillbilly that replaced the kitchen faucet didnt tighten up the supply lines. Another mess to clean. Then opened the refrigerator and it smelled like bad feet. And cheese. Then went back to the bunk beds and found cookie crumbs and pretzels and one lollipop behind the mattresses. I thought they cleaned them before selling them. Plus I paid over a thousand dollars for them to deliver me someone elses *** The feckless bastards there didnt have the balls to call me back. Called corporate. They gave me a case number and said they would call back soon. Nothing. After reading how many people got screwed from this place all over the country I feel like a *** but theres a lot of poor bastards who got screwed worse. Done venting. God do they suck

Excellent people to work with

We bought a 2021 Montana front living 5th wheel September 2021. As was to be expected there were a few issues because let's face it, the RV industry has crap quality control. One issue Keystone wouldn't honor as warranty was the gouges in the shower surround. We found the gouge and reported it right away. Camping World stepped up and took care of fixing the the fiberglass when Keystone said no. We love our Montana front living and have reasonable expectations as to the issues that come up. It is basically an earthquake inside the unit as we pull it to different destinations. We have not had any major issues since the gouge in the shower. We love working with our Cedar Falls, IA Camping World. Our salesman, Pat, took the time to find out what our needs were before showing us fifth wheels. Our service manager, Billy, is wonderful! He communicates timely and only makes recommendations on things that actually need worked on and important preventative issues. This is the last RV we will buy and we are so happy to have the Cedar Falls IA Camping World as our trusted service partner!

Dishonest Sale Practices

We picked out a used travel trailer at Camping World in Greenwood Indiana that was in very good condition listed for $27,000. By the time they added all the stuff we didn't ask for it ended up being $45,000. The finance manager didn't explain anything he was adding and we were exhausted from being there for 6 hrs. My wife was buying the trailer so the finance guy really wasn't talking to me. Anyway we wanted the trailer and my wife signed for it. We didn't get a copy of the paperwork for several days and when we questioned the added charges they basically said we signed for it so it's done. 2 months latter we are still waiting for the title to get to the BMV so we can get it registered. We can't even use the trailer because the temp plates have expired. They won't answer any questions or return any calls. Even the CEO of the company is ignoring us. We got conned big time. They will never get another dime from us. Worse buying experience of my life.

Bad Customer service and lies

I normally don't do this type of stuff but I cannot believe how bad customer service has gotten with RV industry especially camping world. To be fair I never had issues with camping world and purchased several campers over 10 years so the experience was good till now. We had been wanting a 42 view and our last purchase was 2020 which was good. 1 camping world wanted 3k down non refundable before they would even talk to you I found several was like this that is absurd. I finally found one and it was going good. Pulled my credit had a deal with good terms so I agreed to it. Told them day I would be down to sign papers and pick up. This large camper was going to be put in private property for use. They evening before I could pick up they called me saying payment would be $500 per month. Said because of my credit.plus another $3k down. I said hold on, I was in my office and pulled my credit. 822 score I said I am looking at it now 822 I send a copy to them. They said it did not matter to do the deal I would have to go on new terms. I said have a nice day just putting it nice. It's not just RV dealers but car dealerships are getting like this. I will find a used from private and purchase that way . Dealerships treat you like cattle going thru the stockyard

Worst experience ever!

We drove 7 hours for a camper in Calera, Alabama. We were told we had an 11:00 am appointment. Each salesman told us to give them 10 to 15 minutes and they would get us started, which never transpired. At 1:00 we were finally told they were having difficulties with our camper when they were preparing it for our walkthrough When we questioned what difficulties, we were given 2 different stories about what exactly the issue was. After sitting for hours and hours we finally were taken back at 4:00 pm to sign paperwork, only to find out the price negotiated on signed contract was NOT the price on the financing paperwork. An additional almost $6000 more has been added in. When questioned, the sales manager claimed it was financing fees from the lender. This amount was NEVER disclosed prior to making an almost 7 hour drive. Our experience was so bad another couple who were about to purchase a $120,000 motorhome with $20,000 down walked away from their deal. They said they would never do business with this Camping World and more than likely no Camping World anywhere. Run dont walk away from Camping World in Calera, Alabama! If this is how Camping World conducts business, dont waste your time! When a sale cant be handled properly, I shudder to know how they would handle warranty issues!

Buyer Beware

Do not buy a camper or anything for that matter from Camping World in Uxbridge, MA. I have had the worst experience since stepping foot on their property. It all started when my wife and I stopped by to look at some slightly used campers. We had actually done our homework and looked for a few via their website. We picked one out and then there was the whole "How much can you afford for a monthly payment?" deal. We had a used camper to trade in, so I gave them a figure. Then the finance guy states that the payment will be $X. Pressured us to sign for this payment on a piece of paper. Reluctantly, I signed. We go to pick up the camper via an appointment that we were told would be to sign papers and take camper home. What a joke that was. We sit down with a different finance resource and the payment is completely different than what I had signed the evening of picking our camper. It was actually less, so wasn't too disappointed. Just disappointed in the forcing of me signing on a number that didn't align with the final figure. So now we think we can take the camper home. Ha Ha Ha. Head outside the service center to find that the camper is not ready. It didn't have the hitch that we had purchased with the original paperwork even though I had a hitch on the my old camper that they said was not good for the new camper. What a joke. So, now we go through the walkthrough, which because we are experienced campers, they said was not completely necessary. Also signed some paperwork that they took us through it which cost us $400. What another joke. We then notice that this 2021 camper had issues with the stabilizer jacks, so we request that they are fixed. We also noticed that there were some issues we brought up the day we looked at the camper and committed to purchase that were not fixed. This included some sealing around the tire wheel wells. So, we state we want them fixed and what a *** job they did that evening we picked up the camper. Then there was no paperwork with the camper as well as no extra key. At this point, they needed to fix the wheel well sealant, stabilizer jacks (replaced 2 of 4) and add the stabilizer hitch we purchased. It was a work week night, so I state, I will be back tomorrow to pick up. Ha Ha Ha. So, I show up the next day and the work is still not completed by the time they said it would. Also the service manager stated he would get me a extra key. Still have not received that key to date (almost 2 months since purchase). And finally, the ultimate disappointment. We get our trailer (After finally all the issues addressed) to our new seasonal site. I check the sewer and its full. I am assuming it had been full since last season as it was early (early April when we first committed to purchasing) in this season. I am still dealing with trying to completely flush the black tank out. I have tried some bio degradable stuff to break it down better, but it still doesn't seem to want to completely empty. Oh, and when I reached out to Camping World regarding this, they said to bring it in to them. It was already set up over 1 hour away at our seasonal site. Completely disappointed with Camping World and will never step foot on their property again. Buyer beware.

Poor service

sales was ok. service is the worse I have ever experienced in my 62 years of living. the first time it was in for warranty service most of the items were not fixed or not fixed correctly. And one that was repaired was never tested to see if the repair worked. The first time I used the rv after winter storage and found that most of the work that was either not completed or the repair was faulty as the problems returned. When I called back with 30 days left in the 1 year warranty, I was left hanging with no return phone call and everytime I called I was told that service manager was unavailable and never returned any messages. I finally called the corporate hotline and then I received a return call but by then there was 3 days left before warranty expired and now they are trying to get me to pay for the repair. Once corporate hotline persuaded this location to call me back, I have not been able to get back in touch with them again. every call gets sent to voicemail that never gets answered. I am now going on 45 days from our first call until today and we still don't have our rv back. We keep it in a seasonal site so that we can use it weekly but have been able to use this service as they are still working on it. We are also losing money as we have to pay to keep the site and are unable to use it. I hope somebody from campingworld calls or pm me to get this taken of.

Terrible Service at Camping World and Jayco is no better

I purchased a 2022 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel luv the RV but nothing but issues I have had it worked on 2 times for the same thing BMPro issues and slide issues first time back in Jan 2023 they kept the RV for 3 weeks I called 5 times and not one return phone call fixed slide issue and changed new BMPro fast forward 2 months same issue again bad BMPro and slide issues still waiting on parts and approval from Jayco to proceed this time the service manger has called me and kept informed along the way, to be honest I do not feel comfortable it will be fixed correctly, I have been told to come pick up RV and take it until the new BMPro is approved, at this point I dont even feel safe taking it out anywhere that it wont break down I am completely frustrated and disappointed with my new purchase, I am stuck in the middle because Camping World is the only service center in my area that is Jayco approved for warranty work, my deal is I purchased the RV from Richardsons Rv and 3 months later they sold out to camping world just my luck.

False advertising

Saw a travel trailer posted on Camping world Fort Myers. The unit listed as a 50amp with 2nd A/C perp. I made an inquiry online and the internet sales team said the unit did have 50amp service. I bought the unit from Camping World Fort Myers. At the walk thru they told me the unit only had a 30amp service and no 2nd A/C perp. We I asked my sales person about this they responded. Sorry it must be a mistake with there internet team or corporate office. There is nothing they can do about it. They have multiple units list for sale with the same options. But none of them have the options on the units. And other stores are listing the same unit with the options. And the same thing they do not have the options on them. So it looks to be false advertising at multiple stores. After getting the unit home. I find out that they gave me the wrong keys. I can't lock the storage bins on the unit. And the main battery disconnect did not work. I have to disconnect the wire from the battery. To keep from draining the battery. When I talked with my sales perp about these items. It felt like the store does not care about these items. He was trying to tell me that my unit does not have a disconnect on the unit. But when I tell him that there is a red main disconnect switch on the unit. It must have stopped working from the time I picked up and drove it home. I would watch for Camp World advertising items on a unit that are not on the units. Buyer beware

Hustled right from the start...

Original review Apr 01, 2023
I bought from a dealership because i felt like they had service people that would go through the trailer and make sure everything was good and the trailer was fit to sell. That's not the case here. They sold me the wrong adapter to start with but it only goes down hill from there. The floor has some wood rot that was hidden by not fully extending the slide. That wood rot is caused by a water leak. Water drips outside the trailer and the floor is wet inside. I know very little about travel trailers so I thought i was going to the experts I could trust. That certainly isn't the case. I've had the trailer less than a week and i spend the first two nights with no power and now I have no water. So overall this has been a horrible experience for me. I've made a huge investment in a trailer with issues that they knew, or should have known, would be a major problem. Horrible communication Horrible service Horrible everything I only feel taken advantage of and that's all I can pass on to anyone that will listen.

Bought a lemon and this company does not take responsibility

We bought a 2020 Coleman Lantern RV in July 2020. Immediately after our first trip we noticed the roof was leaking thru the AC and one of the side corners, so we took it back for repairs. There was mold in one of the walls. The mattress had to be replaced. It took them about two months bu it was supposedly fixed and ready to go. Fridge never worked, water heater never worked, and the kitchen faucet had a leak as well. A hailstorm comes through, and it takes them 11 months to repair a wall. We called and called and we either got transferred or ignored. Then all the sudden they are saying the roof has a soft spot and they are blaming us for a damaged roof! A roof they supposedly already fixed. A roof that was always covered with a very expensive cover I bought from them. An RV that they sold us with roof leaks!! They probably left my RV outside for 11 months and they do not want to take responsibility. They tried to make my insurance company cover the damage and of course they denied the claim because the damage did not come from the hailstorm. I emailed Mr. Lemonis office (the one that says: if you are not happy, we are not happy) what a joke! and they said they never fixed my roof when I first bought the RV. I am so glad I just found the work order!! I sent an email to let them know and show them proof that from the beginning they sold me an RV that had a bad roof, but Ive been ignored as usual. I also wasted my money paying for a super expensive extended warranty good for nothing. This is the worse company Ive ever dealt with. They will lie, cheat and steal your hard earned money.

Resolved: Horrible Customer Service - Do not buy from Camping World!

Updated by user Mar 05, 2023

Camping World’s corporate office made contact with me and worked diligently to resolve my issues. We have since reached a satisfactory resolution.

Original review Feb 02, 2023
This post has been 6 months in the making, but I was sure hoping I wouldnt have to make it. If you are in the market for a camper/ travel trailer or know someone who is, PLEASE read and SHARE my post so that others arent screwed by Camping World like Katie and I have been. This is my post that Ive written not a forward or copy and paste. Katie and I started camping shortly after COVID hit. We started with a small camper and absolutely loved it! In June 2022 we upgraded to a new Heartland RVs Mallard M33 at 37 long it took some practice to get used to pulling that thing all over the Southeast! We absolutely loved it the kids have a separate bunkroom in the back, we have our own bedroom, the kitchen even has an island! We took it for a our first trip shortly after purchase and had a few issues the water heater was still on bypass so we had cold showers the first night; the kitchen sink leaked because the drain wasnt connected correctly; the sink in the outdoor kitchen leaked because it wasnt corrected at all. While these issues were frustrating on a brand-new unit, they were all easy fixes that I took care of myself. Fast forward 2 months to August 13, 2022. I went into the camper to find WATER EVERYWHERE! The main slide in the kitchen/living/dining area was leaking and caused water damage throughout that area. I called Camping World of Panama City and was told the first available appointment was August 17; I took it in that morning. I asked if we should do a walkthrough, but the tech indicated they will identify all of the damage and make it right, like brand new. We picked the camper up after they did their evaluation because they were ordering parts and I was told it would take some time to get those in. This was early September so a few weeks in the shop for them to evaluate the damage. Our still brand new camper was returned on October 10, 2022 to complete the repairs after being told September 29 that all of the parts were in. I was told that the repairs would take two days, and that it would be ready quickly since all of the parts were in. At this point, we were in no rush to get the camper in for service as it was still usable. It was made clear at dropoff that we wanted to keep the unit until everything was in and the work could be done and it would be ready quickly. We use the camper nearly every weekend during the winter. The unit wasnt ready until October 24; when it was ready they advised that the table came in damaged and would have to be re-ordered. Rookie mistake on my part, we picked the camper up after it was ready and didnt walk through. The camper was parked out front and ready to go, and I was late getting there as I was driving over after work. I didnt go through the camper until November 1. When we opened it up, we were shocked to find that NOTHING had been done. All of the water damage was still there. The table damage was expected but the ceiling was drooping down, the countertops still damaged, cabinetry still damaged and the walls still buckled. I contacted Camping World in dismay Ive driven round trip four times at this point, and nothing has been done. I reached out to the service department, Marcus VIP, and the general manager on November 1 and sent photos of all of the damage that wasnt repaired. I received no contact the next day; no contact from the service manager until November 7. I still haven't heard from the General Manager nor have I received calls back when I've left messages for him. I sent photos of the damage to the service manager to avoid another 4 hour round trip to drop the camper off, per her request. I sent additional photos a few days later as requested. She was going to order the parts and have them in so that the camper wouldn't be sitting there while waiting for repair. We took the camper to Chattanooga for Thanksgiving. The water damage was there, but the camper was usable. While we were on this trip, we noticed that the unrepaired slide was drooping away from the camper significantly. We also had new issues the water heater was leaking and the leveling jacks stopped working. We contacted Camping World while on vacation and let them know we were no longer comfortable using the camper with the slide leaning away from the camper. We took the unit in on December 5, 2022 for repairs. Ive followed up repeatedly since then. We were told the camper was ready last Friday, January 27; Katie and I drove over to pick it up to find that our 6 year old daughter could have completed the repairs more professionally than they had done. Additionally, much of the water damage still wasnt even touched. As of today, Camping World indicates that they have ordered additional parts for the repairs; some will be in within 10 days. The countertop doesnt have an arrival date. The Marcus VIP team indicates that we didnt make them aware of some of the issues (water damaged countertop) in August, so that isnt their problem. At this point, Katie and I want the camper replaced. The visible damage is still there, and who knows what the hidden damage may be from the water intrusion when our camper was two months old. Camping World refuses to replace the unit and cant provide a timeline for repairs to be completed. I am sharing this story for two reasons ONE, Camping World is a nationwide company and tends to respond to consumer issues only when they become public and TWO, to warn my friends and anyone reading this not to buy from Camping World! Manufacturer issues started this, but Camping Worlds response (lack thereof) has made it completely unacceptable. We spent $60,000 to do something we absolutely love. We both work hard for our money, and want to be able to enjoy our purchase. If you have made it this far, please like and share this post! For the Camping World social media team you comment on all of the negative reviews that you will reach out and want to help; please do! My corporate reference number is 0394**** and so far that has been of no use. Pictures are from when we first noticed the damage in August, and then from when we were just told it was ready on Friday, January 27, 2023.

ITS A JOKE! DONT AHOP THERE

If I could leave zero stars I would. I bought a camper and as soon as they recieved my money they ignored me. They charged me for a delivery fee and never delivered the camper so I paid a private company to retrieve it. The camper was not clean. Bugs and mice invested. Broken toilets, where blind was broken and the fender was broke. I contacted the office of the ceo and was told they parts would be shipped to the camping world closes to me and would be repaired. It's been 3 months and they still don't have the correct parts. Everyone that's contacted me has no idea what's going on and can't give me an answer. I've had to have pest control come in and paid a company to clean out the furnace as there was mice bedding in the vents. The awning was broken. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! GO THROUGH ANYONE ELSE TO BUY A CAMPER.
