Updated by user May 11, 2023

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. I called Butterball and told them I wrote a review.

They called me back a few days later and said they would refund fthe amount I paid for the turkey. The check came today.

I contacted Butterball that day in November of 22 to let them know I got a bad turkey. have been cooking for 50 years and I know how to cook a turkey something was wrong with that bird. Butterball said they would send a refund but they never did. I have called 3 times so I give up and I will never buy a Butterball turkey again. Buy the way I tossed it into the field for the wildlife to eat and the crows would not eat it. Crows eat road kill skunks but not Butterball what does that tell you. Buy another brand or a ham.

Disappointed

bought frozen turkey, followed instructions against 30 years of cooking. I cannot say I'll never buy butterball again. But, damn, worst turkey ever, threw away about 70% of it. No one wanted to eat it after .

Bag loaf slop instead of turkey breast

DI purchased a boneless turkey breast the when I opened the package about 15 little pieces of mush came out. This looked like all the scraps of the day shoved in the string bag. After calling customer service they are only willing to send a coupon for half the price. What a disgrace.

For 40 years I have purchased butterball turkeys because they are always perfect. What happened this year so disappointed your turkey was tasteless tough.

No sure this even was turkey, for 40 yrs I have purchased butterball turkeys. Because they are perfect, but this year it was awful, tasteless and stringy and tough to chew. Every turkey Ive made in all those years was tender and juicy. This year I was shock at how bad it was

Because there is not a zero

My case was terminated by the great Senor Vannetti.dont give up your $5. I would be glad to continue but that will cost $5.00. Phone conversation $49.99. Time will be limited. I belueve I was more pissed at pissed off consumer than butterball. You got five bucks from me so you might have something going on. Good lawyers have better things to do.

To report a defective Butterball turkey

I texted Butterball on 11/28/2022 concerning a defective Butterball turkey purchased in October 2922. I received a reply that there would be compensation in 7 to days via mail and as of today 12 /12/22 I have received no correspondence from Butterball. I had supplied picture, receipt and tag on purchase. Can you please check to see status of complaint? Thank you Susan Jaggers 141** ** the Ave Seminole Florida 33776 phone: 727-385-****

BAD BAD Turkey

I cooked my turkey using all directions which I have done for 25 years. The breast meat had a giant split in the top when I took out of the package and legs where black in color. I cooked to the temp but breast meat tough. Could hardly cut legs and wings. Served only breast meat. Through the turkey away. I was so disappointed and embarrassed for my guests to see this disgusting looking bird. I will never purchase another butterball. Made my Thanksgiving a disaster.

Horrible 12lb butterball turkey

I used a bag and cooked my turkey using all directions which Ive done before. The turkey had quills sticking out of it. The breast meat and legs showed temp done but breast meat tough. Could not hardly cut legs and wings tough with sinew. I was just sick. Had gravy luckily. Served only breast meat. Very bad. Bought at Meijers Springfield Il.

Disappointed in BB turkey

Purchased 17 lb turkey @$1.07 per lb. Let thaw in frig as recommended. Skin was bruised; huge prongs left in turkey butt. Not well cleaned inside. After cooking, it appeared deflated, was tasteless. Not happy and not a good deal for what I paid for it. Never to purchase again. 11/22.

My 2022 Butterball 12lb was terrible

The quality was awful. Had tendons hanging down, produced excess solid fat while cooking on rack, tough and tasted awful. Very disappointing. Not the same quality as in past years.

This Turkey was tough and had no flavor

I thought Butterball was the best, so that is what I bought. It was the worst Turkey I have ever had. First, I am pretty sure they must plump them up with a solution because once I thawed it out it had so much bloody water in the pan when I took it out of the fridge it spilled all over the floor. I have never had a turkey do that before. The night before after it was thawed I started to take the neck out of the cavity, and it was solid ice inside, another indication it was pumped with a solution When I took it out the next morning, it had filled with more bloody water, and it did not look like the plump Turkey I purchased. After I cooked it for the time indicated it was not at all tender but very tough and the meat would not come off the bone, so I cooked it a little more, it did not help. The only way I am going to get the meat off the bones is to boil it for a couple of hours. This Turkey was tasteless and tough. I have been cooking a Turkey for Thanksgiving for 46 years, and this was hands down the worst Turkey ever. Don't be fooled by a name, there was nothing tasty about this butter ball turkey. So, So, disappointing to have to serve that awful Turkey to my quests

Butterball’s Frozen to Oven turkey breast was not in the least edible.

Updated by user Dec 24, 2022
My issue with Butterball’s inedible boneless turkey breast has not been resolved. Being that I hadn’t heard from Butterball Co., I called them about a week ago. I was relieved that I had saved my store receipt, back and front of the outer bag and pictures of the gross...

Original review Nov 24, 2022
I was thrilled to see that Butterball makes a DO NOT THAW-from frozen to oven boneless turkey breast. Then I cooked it..Ugh! It ruined my Thanksgiving dinner this evening. First, I opened it and thought there was no way that it weighed 3 lbs-I put it on my food scale to find it weighed 2.6 lbs. Is the gravy included in the weight?? Then I cooked it along with the rest of the meal. Disgusting looking at 1 hr and 55 minutes. It was not close to fully cooked and the bag and turkey was surrounded by off white gooey, fatty looking stuff. I cooked it for another 15 minutes and part was over cooked and part was looking rare but more of the off white gook.Tomorrow, Im bringing it back (cooked and all)to Publix with my receipt and the top of the bag along with the cooked turkey. I had already thrown out the majority of the outer bag. Im certain butterball will want the trashed info, but I can count on Publix to refund my money-hopefully, theyll also refund the gravy that I bought and had no use for. I would have been mortified had I not cooked a delicious ham to go along with the trimmings.

Boneless seasoned turkey rosst in cooking bag

Followed directions closely. Ended up with a boiled turkey. Not roasted, BOILED. Because of the caustic seasoning the cat doesn't want it either. Won't touch it. Nor will I/we. I can't afford losses like this. I don't get foodstamps. I pay for them. I'm sure baby daddies had a beautiful free meal. I pay twice. And still dont eat.

ROTTING FOREIGN MATTER IN TURKEY BREAST ROAST

We purchased a Butterball turkey breast roast at the Sweetwater TX Walmart on Tuesday Nov 1, 2022 to have an early T-giving dinner with or family. All was prepared on Thursday Nov 3, 2022 and served at dinner time (5PM). We carved the roast and found about a third of the roast consisted of a congealed substance. I actually bit into it as it was the same color as the meat. There was so much of it in the roast that the entire meal had to be trashed as it was inedible. Not sure if it was some rotting material but we certainly did not want to consume any of it. We tried to reach Butterball but they were unavailable on text, chat or phone. We tossed the wrapper to avoid odor in our home. Reply next day wanted receipt, wrapper, etc rather than dive into what this substance was or at least what it could be. We tossed the receipt after checking it on Tuesday. We tossed the wrapper into the dumpster after dinner as I stated to avoid odor. If Butterball wants to come over and dive into our dumptster to determine the nature of this they are welcome. I'm not going to do so, myself. I did take photos and provide those on their text system immediately. Photo included large quantity of the mass of oozing gooey stuff on a tupperware lid. Now whether they want to admit it they have an issue in their processing plant. And perhaps unknown numbers of other frozen turkey roasts in stores with the same slime contained within. If I was Butterball, Id' be trying to get to the bottom of this before the government recalls their product. The attitude I encountered was smoke screen, avoid responsibility jargon.
