This is not a complaint. I am very pleased with the services received. They are fair and don't try to scam you with services you don't need.

The review is about the great service I have received, over the years of doing business with this company. Their customer service is always pleasant and helpful. I've never had any problems with the services they have peformed. And, with the discounts and coupons I have saved a lot of money.

A mechanic took out the part

Worker broke part on back brake system. If business did not want to be responsible for trying to fix brake shoes on car, then they should have informed me on risk and said they did not want to chance removing a screw on brake line which had rust. They should have tried liquid, grease etc to let it set then loosen screw on driver back brake fluid line. My purpose was to get brake shoes. I was informed later that I needed drum kit plus cylinders. Okay, fair enough. I also believe they were rushing the job. I had to pay $113.00 for their recklessness. I had work obligations. I said. I will just file a complaint.

Shop broke another part on my repair and won't fix what they broke.

I went to Brakes Plus in THE Colony, TX to have them put on 2 Lower Control Arms that I supplied. They charged me $400. After 4 days of driving it felt like the left front wheel was going to fall off. I looked under the car and one of the mounting bolts to the right control arm was missing! Causing the right front wheel to move to shift front to back about 6 inches! I took it back and they put in the missing bolt. After driving it for one day, it was making a clunking noise now on the right front wheel, like something else was loose. It didnt make that sound before.! They said the rack and pinion bearing on the steering of the right side was worn out... It was caused from them not putting in the bolt to the lower control arm ! They won't fix what they broke and want to charge me another $700! Micheal Partridge is the manager that I talked to. He said the power steering fluid would need to be flushed too. I informed him that it has electric steering not power steering ! All HHR's are that way! He was dumbfounded and said it would be $70 less then ... He is a crook !!! Doesn't know what he is talking about. They need to fix my car for free. They broke it. If corporate doesnt make him fix it, I'm going to the media ! Let's see what channel 8 news has to say to him when they visit him! Crook !!!

Problem with struts assembly

AI had struts replaced on my 2018 Toyota Rav 4 . The struts creak and knock . I took back and tech told me he could not hear anything . I took vehicle to another location and they agreeed there was noises in strut assembly and stated they replace the strut cartirdge and sometimes when they put the strut back together it is not perfect and the strut will make noises . The tech greased around the strut rubber fitting and it went away for a couple weeks . Will brakes plus make this right or should I take the vehicle to a Toyota services center and have them fix what was done wrong and submit bill to Brakes Plusa corporate office . Damage from service

If I could give this company negative stars I would. I had an AC compressor replaced. The shop broke some other pieces. Had tontake it to any Brakes Plus on the other side of town. 2 days after I got it back my car overheated and now they want me to pay $1200+ to fix. Saying it was coincidence. My *** I will not be using this company anymore.

They are complete idiots

Dont take your car there. Brakes plus has no idea how to repair fix brakes or anything else. They over torqued my wheels warped all rotors and claim its not there fault. Claimed they flush radiator had it done had it tested and still old antifreeze in there. They are crooks and scam artists

Not HAPPY

Had my stress done 9 months ago started making noise Telling me the warranty is up on the labor but the Parts are still under warranty Want me to shovel out almost $500 Because it's over the 6 month As the Tech tells me oh I'm gonna put better parts in because that's all we had in stock And then proceeds to tell me that my truck needs a lot more work done I didn't ask that they advise me

1/5

Poor customer service

Transparency. They won't work on vehicles where the customer provide parts. No where on their webpage do they state this. They profit not only from the markup of parts but in inflated labor charges that are not passed on to the techs that actually do the work. When I asked for the contact information for the Regional Mgr. I was given a name only. The Mgr claimed to NOT know the contact info for John Louis. I find that REALLY hard to believe since I know managers have to make reports to their Regional on; at least: a weekly basis. John Bruner Bruners Pilot Car Service azjrebel@***.com

Quoted repairs not needed.

Ive taken my vehicles to Brakes Plus for oil changes and repair work for many years now. I recently had the oil changed and when i picked up the car they told me that I had a leak in the crankshaft seal, the timing chain cover and the oil pan. They said it would coat $1500 to fix it. I have the extended warranty at the dealership. The dealership changed the oil pan gasket but said there were no leaks in the crankshaft seal or timing .chain cover. Also the oil pan plug is stripped. Brakes plus is the only place that had ever changed the oil on that car.Has brakes plus been ripping me off all this time?

Do NOT GO HERE

Updated by user Mar 14, 2022
I reached out to the Brakes Plus corporate office, the regional manager for AZ called me back, I believe his name was Dan; and was very condescending "it's ok little lady" towards me. He said "don't worry, if anything comes from this issue we'll take care of you" but...

DO NOT GO HERE!! IM SO UPSET! I left the Maricopa AZ Breaks Plus after my oil change and headed to my facial. My car starts smoking, like a lot, I call breaks plus and they have no idea and say I can bring it back if I want, so I have to cancel my facial (non refundable) because Im 45 min out and go back. On the way my car starts making a terrible noise, like you put a stick in a fan, I am about 5 miles away at this time, but of course there's construction on the way back so it's slow moving. About 1 mile out my car starts alarming "ADD OIL"!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I assume They didn't put any oil in my car, I bring it in and they tell me the oil filter gasket malfunctioned and sprayed out the oil once it got under pressure. Theyre saying of course well refund the cost of the oil change. UM REALLY? I called my dealership and its $165 to have it looked at to see if the engine was damaged plus they need to keep it for at least one day (need a rental) plus I lost my facial that was paid for, plus two days of my time. I said I wanted to speak the the manager but of course theyre not there today. Theyre in tomorrow. I called the corporate office and the regional manager, They said they cant do anything for me beside refund my oil change cost, so I lost a $100 facial, stressed to the max, lost half a day today, a whole day tomorrow at the dealership where they will need my car overnight and cost $165 to start plus the loss of my only free day this week. They wont reimburse me for taking my car for a checkup because Im supposed to trust that the company that caused the damage will be honest with me that there is no further damage. The regional manager Dan Farace, would only give me vague promises but refused to put anything in writing and flat out refused to reimburse me to take my vehicle anywhere else to be checked out. DO NOT GO HERE! Not only can you not trust their work, but you sure as heck cannot count on their customer service when THEY SCREW UP! P.S. Id like to mention I have NEVER posted a negative review, it takes A LOT for me to get upset. Oh also there is oil All over my garage and driveway from when I stopped home to get my mail. Sadly I just ran in so I didnt notice until I got home later.

Damage done... I expect compensation

Hi, So, I've been restoring an old 92 Mazda 626, and this weekend I installed new coilovers--which was a massive issue, but, it was completed. Today I went to get tires from Discount Tires, who offered me a coupon for an alignment with you. I took the coupon and went directly to you. Well, during the visit I saw the person doing the alignment start wailing on my car with a big hammer, and I heard it, as well. With every blow I felt it in my gut, because, there was NEVER anything on my car requiring a massive hammer blow, or 10 having to do with the alignment. My coilover would move easily with loosening up 4 allen bolts that are hand-tightened! I told them about my adjusting the camber because the new coilovers made it really reckless to drive, so, I adjusted them, but, I had them marked and I'd like for them to reset them to what they were on the factory--a 1 min job. I did not think about telling them to unbolt the mounts because that's your job, to know cars and what things do. ;) I also thought that what I was seeing had nothing to do with my coilover--I was wrong, of course. These coilovers are the most expensive things put on my car after the price of the purchase of the car, and to have it damaged on the third stop (and less than 20 miles on them) by someone who's 'fixing' your car is insanity. Seriously. I've lost much of my income and this is my personal property, so, it's worth a lot to me; it's not a Ferrari and I know there would have been NO HAMMER used on one it if it were. I'm not interested in going back to the same shop for any reason, now that trust has been broken. How could I see and hear him do this and no one else questioned it? You MUST have cameras installed and I suggest you view them so you can see what I saw... you won't be happy if you even just 'like' your car, and you will hate to see it if you love your car. I thought that there was no way he's pounding my car, but, when I got home I'd thought I'd check to make sure they were tightened down and it was then that I saw the damage done at BrakesPlus... wow. My heart sank because I just spent and entire weekend, plus, installing many parts with much effort. I expect some compensation for this cannot be brushed aside. If I did not see it, and hear it, I might not have believed it. My personal property was damaged without concern, for some reason, and I have no idea why; and, it was done by a member of BrakesPlus. Every bit of damage seen on the pics is from BrakesPlus, and the damage not seen is done as well--I have no idea what could have been done by pounding them so close to the adjustment *** Get a new coilover and hit it 8, or more times with the same hammer and the damage will be exact enough. I don't like to call the places of conflict directly, because many times before, someone will try to protect someone, one of their 'buddies', and it's frustrating. It's easier to get the corp to get the security video footage, or do the research that many shops will not do.
