The staff were terrible!
When I was nine, my mom signed me up for Boys and Girls Club in Linda Vista for 6 weeks. At first, the staff just seemed strict, but then they did stuff that was just unreasonable. Here is a list of some of the things they did: -Punishing ALL of the 4th-5th graders for talking when we were reading the chosen novel (a book called Hoot). Punishing means sitting in silence for a certain amount of time. Detention is for school. -We were reading the book and a ten year old kid was reading it, but the staff were laughing about something on their phones and didn't hear her, even though we all did. They punished us since she wasn't reading loudly enough. -They have an open are to play with rocks (we weren't supposed to stand on them) and I danced on one of them, as a joke. I had to sit out for five minutes when I honestly forgot the rules. Me being a stupid nine-year-old, I asked where, because they weren't being clear. In response, they sent me to the principal's office, where the secretary let me off. -They have computers, but since we weren't sharing, they said if our behavior was like that, we wouldn't go to college -Tossing around cuss words like a frisbee, but when I sang a song with the word "damn" in it, they sat me out for five minutes. The song was from the Greatest Showman. I could go on, but I'm going to stop. The principal there was okay when I was there, and so was the secretary. But computers, prices, and free lunch didn't make up for their actions.

Unpleasant and unprofessional answering receptionist when dialing 404487**** number. Calling to inquire and got hung up on immediately for verifying to make sure i contacted the right location.

This place was the worst experience of my life
This place had no academic clubs the only club were you learned something we’re both taken down, bulling was left unresolved not sanitary whatsoever the staff were playing music that weren’t appropriate for children at all and the staff were fully aware of all of it and yet they took no course of action unbelievable they would also end field trips early when around two kids were misbehaving when they could have easily had sat those kids out from the trip there’s so much stuff that is wrong with this place n bet ever take your child to go here don’t let the website and the prices fool you

Unprofessional, staff bullying and threatening
lack of professionalism, don’t take care of bullying issues, some of the staff is uncaring, verbally bullying, threatening and cuss at the children, no meetings when asked. Truly unorganized and unsanitary. Let my child get picked up by someone not on his pick up list. Let the children run the club. Staff pick & choose favorites, DONT LISTEN TO CHILDREN’S NEEDS. Truly disgusting and heartbreaking!

I signed our daughter up for the driver's ed program thru here last summer already and she still has not got her license! the lady handling it got married and moved out of state which left another guy handling it and now he is gone too so apparently some other guy is handling it which I have not met since they do not introduce new staff to parents-their steps for drivers ed suck too-number 5 says do community service hours!? how do those relate to drivers ed? after this it is a practice temps test at the DMV and then another with the guy at the club!? and finally a third with the guy from the club and a parent-makes you wonder why it is strung out so long

I was fourteen when I was forced to go to the Boys and Girls Club in Cleveland County. While there, I noticed some unusually vulgar and hoodlum behavior from the kids. Before I go into that, though, I'd first like to complain that they mixed nineteen-year-olds with kids who were just turning twelve. The problem with this is that the nineteen-year-olds acted like Lil' Pump after consuming a milk carton of cocaine. They would curse, pretend fight, and basically act like complete *** and this really had a bad influence on the younger kids. Also, don't nineteen-year-olds. . . I don't know. . . HAVE JOBS!? My sons just went though the same issue at Inuki club in Hillsboro OR . They were getting bullied as well. They got pinched punched kicked and choked. They tried telling but to no eval. So i told them. 7 and 9 to defened themselves. They did and got in touble with the staff. I asked to see the video and at that point was told it was aginst policy. I never read that. The security director called me Brian Werner then confermed what i was afraid of. He said they dont want the kids to defend themselves. I was done at that point with him. This club is breading victims. Remove your kids. They are denied their basic human right of defense. Sucks that they even have to at this age. Rambling. Sorry. Im upset. I wont let this go.

My son labeled as problem child and expelled due to his ADHD
My son had been in boys and girls club since kindergarten. He was doing great up until the start of his 2nd grade year. At that time his club location went through many staff over turns (not sure why) and many program changes more like a strict boarding school. My son started getting bullied at 2 site locations. Each time he would ask staff for help but get ignored so he took it upon himself to fight back. Because he chose to fight for himself he got suspended several times. Then they started getting on his case more and more about small stupid petty stuff (sit still, dont tap your pencil--he was being rude when we questioned him about something) so i had him moved to a different site location. Things were going great but then 2 months at the new site he starts getting bullied again...same damn thing. Staff doesnt help but this time his behavior was worse so the director expelled him from the program. It was the same director as his previous location. I honestly think the director had it out for him from the start...and there were several times where i tried to stand up for my son and tell the director she needs better staffing but she would always defend her staff members over my son and other students. There seriously needs to be some huge changes to this club as a whole for the better not for the worse. Maybe my son getting terminated is a blessing in disguise after reading all of the reviews.

I want the staff to pay more attention too students.If they are always on there phone how are they suppose to watch the kids?Are my kids safe with them?I can not leave them there with those staff who dont give a damn about my children.The reason I am saying this is cause one day i came to pick up my daughter.Right when I say her face i knew it was urgent.She told me that she was in the games room and was minding her business when a group of girls started taunting her.The where pulling her hair and hitting her,the staff was still in the room on his phone.After the group of girls left she went and told the staff.The staff said that if he didnt see it happen how is he suppose to help.He did not heaven to his boss about it to address it.So this is why you never send your kids to boys and girls club~~

Boys and Girls Club in Largo FL 61st
I had signed my children up for the summer camp and they have been bullied and made fun off everyday my children do not want to join any activities now that they have had that horrifying experience at this location. The get beat up smacked upside the head and called all kinds of names the counselors do nothing about the matter and they seem to not just let it ride due to them being children. In this day and age bullying should be taken seriously since so many young kids commit suicide cause they feel like why should I live if no-one cares. It would break my heart when I would hear them talk about it on their own. I could hear how unhappy they were and how depressed they got. I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone that doesn't already know a person at the location since there is much favoritism going on.

My kids go to the jim and jan moran boys and girls club in deerfield beach....in the summer they dont have enough stuff to help run the club and the kids fight alot and the stuff just stand than and let them fight.and the director she dont do anything to help the problem when u talk to her all she wants to do is suspend them .just not to deal with them my kids been going there for a while and since this new director have come aboard its been a mess at that club

Negligence due to staff
My 6 year old child was at the local pool with her group and two boys from another group pushed her down causing her to have a big scrape on her knee exposing her white meat. I was not contacted by staff at all. They put a band aid over her knee and when I came to pick her up she was scared to tell me. No staff from her classroom told me anything about her being bullied or pushed they were simply no where to be found when I picked up my child. I then contacted the director of operations and the unit director which the unit director did not contact me back and the director of operations telling me to talk to the unit director. Giving me the run around after my child has only been there for 4 days is not going to work. The staff is not properly trained to deal with children and do not know the correct procedures of notifying a parent when something happens to their child.
