Leak within a year

Company wont honor their warranty or return our calls. Our plumbing broken and our light began leaking in the first year. We had to have our decking cut open to replace the plumbing after losing thousands of gallons of water and having a soaked hard. We used their closing company to receive the additional warranty of all plumbing. What a joke and rip off. Now were out close to $3,000 for repairs and our decking doesnt match.

Failing and shotty work

Pool is 3 years old. The deck is failing. Tiles are falling off the side of the spa. MULTIPLE leaks and cracks. Had the leak detection company they recommended come out to preform the evaluation then had to threaten a lawsuit to get them to come out to fix it. Then they tried to charge us for the repair even though they supposedly guarantee their work. Grout is failing on the deck and in/on/around the pool. Robert Namer is a crook and a liar. His own employees approached us begging us to sue them bc they are tired of watching customers go through these kinds of issues. The pool installation took twice as long as the date promised on the contract. His employees have even sued him for sexual harassment. Why does the Blue Haven franchise continue to allow this man to tarnish their company brand?!

No response

I have tried to call corporate office to complain. No answer just like Ft Meyers office! Pool was dug April 19th, gunite shell shot a week after. As well as plumbing and electric roughed in. They finally backfilled mid July. Here's the problem. Mountain of dirt and construction debris is still here! I get mudslides when it rains. Tomorrow I'd September 1st. Just heard today their phone lines have been broken for 4 months! They refuse to give me cell phone contact info. My patience are gone and I need communication. I'm a reasonable person but this is ridiculous. Thanks for letting me vent.

This business is a scam.

Do you want to spend 10s of thousands of your hard-earned money on: "artisans" (A term from Blue Haven booklets) that are illegal immigrants hired from the local daily labor outlet (How do I know this? I met a friend for lunch that assigns daily labor workers out each day, and there sat 4 of the workers that put on the tiles to my pool, 1 week earlier), that cannot speak English? Do you want Made in China equipment (Blue Haven owns the Hayword products that they use to build pools. The Hayword line in Made in China. Blue Haven puts Made in USA stickers on their products to fool buyers, and these products are ultra expensive when you need to replace them, such as a pool filter, and that pool filter is designed so that the consumer cannot buy an after market product) running your new pool? Blue Haven Pools is a horrible company to hire. They will destroy your driveway and yard. Your "contract" will be a 1 page, warm and fuzzy document that will get some buyers to sign on. Then, they will not perform to the agreement: Example: our contract stated that the pool would be completed in 75 days. Reality: the pool was somewhat completed in 388 days. Whenever someone shows up to perform work at your house, not a single entity has a car, truck or vehicle labeled "Blue Have Pools." Not even the owner, who will only appear/answer questions, emails, phone calls, etc., when you owe another installment for the pool work. Can you imagine why not a single employee does not have "Blue Haven" on their vehicle? My pool is now 4 years old. Within 1 month, chunks of the inside of the pool feel off to the bottom. The drain covers on the bottom became loose and disconnected from the bottom, due to the wrong size screws being utilized. Imagine how hard it is to screw in screws at a depth of 7 feet of water? Our light has to be replaced at least 1 time yearly, due to an unknown electrical problem due to the high-school dropout "electrician." Cost: $200 per light. The pump has been replaced 3 times, Cost: $1.600 per pump. The pavers that were installed as flooring around the pool is sinking in 4 different areas. Can you imagine the cost of that? The list goes on and on. My neighbors come over, see the condition of my pool, and they all ask: "So, when will you fill it in and build a putting green?" Finally, you might research them on BBB and find that they have an A+ rating. The BBB is in business to take money from businesses and advertise their services. Find out what it takes for a consumer to file a complaint, and have the BBB list it about Blue Haven on the BBB website. The complaint starts with how much $$$ you will "donate." If you want a quality-built pool, do NOT contract with Blue Haven Pools. Research them on the web from around the USA. You will find that my pool issues are the same from other "Blue Haven" outlets around our country. And, I have not even mentioned about how they continuously lie to the consumer: "We haven't worked on your pool for 7 weeks due to it raining everyday." In reality, it rained once or twice. I kept a log. Find a local company that drives vehicles stating their contact info, workers that speak English, and research former patrons. I wish that I would have!

I am happy with my pool. It took longer than anticipated, but the result is very nice. Even my pool maintenance professional commented on how nice the pool had turned out.

Bad Pool Company

Updated by user Jan 04, 2022
Never use this pool company. You mean nothing to them. All theycare about is how many pools they build a year.

Original review Jan 04, 2022
We have had nothing but bad experiences with Blue Haven. I will not go into a lot of detail here, but I will tell you that I wrote a 3 page email to the owner of Blue Haven of all the items that needed to be addressed and corrected. They have yet to fix one item. At this point we are not sure what we are going to do to get them just to finish the pool. Their operations Manager is a real jerk to say the least.

Since this past April I have talked to the shyster Robert Namer. Nothing has been done just promises that he will take care of it. Blue Haven should be very concerned. He is destroying their brand

Caulking around pool is coming out, cool deck ir sundeck is cracking. I have talked to Robert Namer 43 times since this past April 5th. Each time he hands me to one of his office staff and he assures me that he will send someone to take care it.

Service/Warranty issues

Updated by user May 23, 2021
This matter has been resolved; however, Blue Haven pools only seems to care about its consumer ratings (online) for other customers and potential customers to view. Should you experience challenges with this company, I STRONGLY encourage you to file complaints with the...

Original review Apr 23, 2021
I contacted Blue Haven pools on April 19, 2021 for a service matter. My pool is less than 2 years old and for the last several days, my pool filter was not working (the water would swirl up/down but never stay filled up in the tank, this also stopped my fountain from working properly). I described the problem to the office admin (Michelle or Melissa) and she advised that the problem would fall under our warranty - again, because our pool is not even 2 years old. She advised that she would contact someone and have them reach out to me. Later that morning, I received a call from Elton/the Aqua Shop (Blue Haven's service person). He advised that he would try to come to our home that day or the next day. He came that same day (around 5:30/6pm) and looked at our filter. He advised that there was a problem with our skimmer/pool filter door staying shut/collecting debris/, causing the main filter to malfunction. He advised us on how to avoid this (insuring that the flap remained open, etc). On April 21st we received a bill for $100 (via email). I inquired why we received the invoice because Blue Haven confirmed that this service call fell under warranty. Elton/the Aqua Shop said that because he didn't have to repair anything, we were charged $100 and he was "under the impression" that Blue Haven advised us of this. I called Blue Haven and spoke with their receptionist again. I questioned why we were billed and she said, "Elton should have informed you." I then told her that, "NO..YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD US". I then reminded her that she specifically told us this service call fell under warranty and she had nothing to say! We demanded to speak to the General Manager and she advised that he would call us. We have not heard from him to date! We have now filed complaints with the State (Consumer Affairs) and the Better Business Bureau. This company does NOT take accountability for their actions and is NOT forthright about their charges! Dr. Sampson-Sinclair

Poor workmanship and company cannot be accessed

Updated by user Apr 13, 2021
Contractor contacted me and we are working together to solve the problem. There was an error in draining the pool which caused the pool and concrete to rise.

Original review Apr 13, 2021
I have been contacted by Blue Haven contractor and we are now working to resolve my safety concerns. Inspection pointed out there were errors in draining the pool, my husband was not aware. Therefore, we are working to resolve the situation. I am glad the company immediately took steps to contact me, they showed they care and will be meeting with renovation contractor soon. Thank you!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Terrible! Never provided pool plans. 20x42 is actually 18x42 because they count 9" deep bumpout ledge as width of the entire pool. 2.70 hp pump instead of contract 2.85 hp Said, oops my bad. 8x6 Negative Edge Spa actually flat top and only 8x5.5; 6 jets instead of 8. Use cheaper 2" pipes Demand payment in advance of work. Work slowly. Decking took 4 months. Deceptive: raised wall only faced with stone on the front, like a hollywood set. Tried telling me that flat top is the best kind of negative edge Never installed eyelets or lighting, but was paid for. Claimed they do it at plaster, but still demand they be paid for all of those things in advance. Steps out of pool 20" high; told me you'll be okay because your lighter in the water so even old people can step up. Never invoiced me. I sent phase payments immediately after work was done without being asked, but later they insisted my payments had been late? Even did work stoppage midway through decking phase demanding full payment for decking even though it wasn't done!? If you don't use a lending institution (pay out of pocket) that will insist work be done before payment, they will demand you pay for work in advance. They told me this!? Sloppy pad, wires dangling, concrete debris in planter boxes, over a year and still waiting.... Use at your own risk. Study before you sign. Monitor like a hawk. Take nothing by word.

Owner of Blue Haven equipment

Blue Haven installed our pool and equipment in 2010. The motor and heater are not working 10 years later. Maybe this is to be expected after 10 years. However, after contacting Blue Haven here in Las Vegas, they have not chosen to respond. This has been typical every time we have a problem. Guess once they have your money, they just don't care.

Defective Product = Failure at every point

I do NOT recommend Blue Haven Pools in San Antonio, TX. It was more focused on getting my money, $80,000, than getting my pool built or providing customer service. The pool took six months to build and the end product is a disaster. Within the first year the pool shifted, tiles fell off and copping cracked. Blue Haven would never return phone calls to schedule a date to fix problems, even with my offering to pay more money. I had leaks and pipes break, which I had to hire a third party to fix. Blue Haven refused to provide me with copies of the plans. You may find Blue Haven prices to be a little less than other pool companies, but customer service and warranties are worthless. With this pool disaster, my real estate agent advised I will have to fill in the pool before I can list my home for sale.

Complain

First, it started with the plaster crew. They destroyed a large section of my brand new sod, they damaged a couple pavers on the decking that is also brand new as well, broke off my outside outlet cover, and when installing the covers on the led lights in the pool they did something to one of the lights now it doesn't work. Calvetti , the owner, whom i spoke with once, sent a guy to take pictures of the damage but that's all at this point. There has been no communication on basically everything. I would think that most people coming to your company to build a pool, do not know about the process. I had to ask all the questions and constantly call and email. The biggest issue is the pool heater. It was never installed. No one told us that the gas line needed to be run by us nor does the amendment state that( amendment bc we changed our mind from a slide to a heater) Calvetti himself told me the amendment we signed was vague and the heater we were sold was not appropriate for our pool as we have no spa. Fast forward to final plumbing inspection. We failed for two reasons. One Blue Haven never sent an update to the town adding the heater and no safety valve was installed, which immediately voided the warranty. So, basically someone took it out of the box and laid it down. It's been three weeks Calvetti hasn't retuned my call. Our project manager, Jeff, whom for the record we have never met or spoken to until all this mess occurred and he was extremely rude, only emailed me. I want this resolved and quite frankly a customer with all of these problems shouldn't have to wait this long with no resolution I feel I have to do all the work here and all I'm getting is a run around. So much so, that im meeting with my lawyer on Monday because there is much more to this whole situation.
