NOT HAPPY, I FEEL I WAS RIPPED OFF

I called a plumber, from Benjamin franklin plumbing, Kingman az , I was ripped off, my tub was stopped up, first of all he came out with a junk snake, not the one he supposedly needed, couldnt unplug the drain for the tub, then he said he would pull the toilet and run the big snake in the drain, which only cleared the toilet, didnt help the tub any,he tells me it wil be $358.00 and the problem wasnt solved, he said after i pid that to buy a snake that is battery or plug in to unplug the tub, had he done that in the first place i could have saved $358.00 so he left, we bought a ryobi battery snake from home depot, WORKED LIKE A CHARM, MY HUSBAND HAD TH TUB UNPLUGGED IN 15 MINUTES, As for the plumbers work of the toilet, it is still slow to flush, his snaking it, with his bigger one, did not entirely solve any problem, and why should a consumer have to pay for a problem that wasnt xfix, I should be given a refund

They came and fixed a plumbing problem that we had but when we inspected the job they had put they stickers over all our appliances.

You cannot remove these labels without destroying the original label of the suppliers underneath who we were very happy with. This is tantamount to trespass and defacing of our private property. I would not let Benjamin Franklin or One Hour Heating within our house ever again and will recommend the same to our neighbors unless they agree not to put their advertising on our property.

Swamp cooler not working at all after supposed clean up and new filters installed.

My swamp cooler stopped sending cold air about 7 weeks after it was supposedly cleaned and new water filters installed. I was charged $100.00 for the supposedly new water filters. I also paid approx. 99.00 for the little water pipe that was added because they said it was leaking. I was ok with that until it stopped working entirely, except the pump was still working but no water was coming. This all happened on a Friday prior to the 4th of July holiday. The temperature hovered around 100 degrees. I was told they could not fix it until the next Tuesday afternoon. I called my great-grandson, also from Montrose to come to fix it asap. This is what he found. None of the dirt had been cleaned out from last year, the pump was working but the water was plugged at the pump and one of the spider arms also. The filters were the old ones from about two years ago. They never replaced what they charged me a hundred dollars for. It has been cleaned up by my relative and working again. I would like to have a refund for the filters and the none cleaning that they were supposed to do and didn't. I paid my great-grandson another $80.00 for coming and fixing it. Except, it still has the old dirty filters. from about

Poor customer service

I wrote a harsh review of this local business because no one was coming to inspect the problem pump instead they wanted me to buy a new one. After months of calls and conversation the manager came to check. The problem was simple and fixed quickly. The manager explained his area of calls covered more than Melbourne and Palm Bay. So he agreed to give me a heads up when he will actually be in town. Lack of communication is the general cause of many problems.

Shocked at the cost!

I received a coupon in the mail for 50% off the cost of service call from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. A few days later my kitchen sink was leaking. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing , they came out the next day! The technician Cris, was very professional and very personable. Cris was at my house for a total of 30 minutes, worked on my drain for 15 minutes. The bill, after the $50.00 coupon was a whooping $368.00! If you take off the $50.00 the actual bill would be $418.00, for 15 minutes of actual work! That is $1,672.00 per hour! Brain surgeons don't get paid that much! Cris informed us that it was the company that told him to charge that much, he could not adjust the bill. I called Ben Franklin Plumbing after Cris left, spoke with a gentleman who said he could take $100.00 off the cost, I said that was still outrageous. The clerk took my name and said he would have a supervisor get back with me, I received a voice mail without my phone ringing???? I called back and of course no one was available to speak with me at that time and I was assured someone would call right back. Paid for work that was not done

Original review Feb 12, 2021
I recently (12/30/2020) had some work done by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to replace the HVAC ducting under my home in Kingman, AZ. Before the ducting could be installed the technician discovered a water leak that was partially responsible for the failure of the existing ductwork. A plumbing technician from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was called in to repair the leak. After diagnosing the problem, the technician recommended that all of the plumbing should be replaced. After some discussion it was determined that the whole house refit that was recommended was supposedly done by a Benjamin Franklin Plumbing technician in December of 2019 was in fact never done. At that time I paid a total of $16,200 for the retrofit. Since becoming aware of the issue, I have made several attempts to discuss the discrepancy with a supervisor at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Kingman, AZ. As of this time, no one from the Kingman office of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing has made any attempt to contact me to reconcile the problem. I have been doing business with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing since I purchased the property in April of 2015 and they have done extensive repairs to my home over that time period. I feel that, at the very least, I should be entitled to a review of the work that has been done to my residence and, if the facts are correct, a refund of my payment for the work that was never done.

Prices are way over what they should be.

I hate being ripped off. I don't think I will use your companies again. I always feel like I'm being overcharged and I know that I am. Thinking about canceling my service plan.Call someone else.

Gouging price for service

I had them come out to look at a leaking disposal and I purchased one from Lowes and had it there open and waiting for them. I was at work and my Wife was home and I did not talk to them untill after they were gone. They charged us $500.00 to install our disposal and put a washer on the sink drain on the other side. One hour and fourty minutes. When I called them the girl said they charge $350.00 just to install the disposal and they charged the rest to the washer??????????????? What a rip off! I will tell as many people about them as I can and if I see them in my area again I will stop and tell the homeowners about them. Never again

Over charging seniors

They charged 2,135.31 for a 50 gallon water heater that cost 766.00 at Home Depot and when i ask for a receipt they said they don't give itemized receipts only the total price they sure took advantage of me because i needed hot water. I would not recommend this company to anyone especially seniors. Charles Loch.

Gross incompetence and usurious fees and misleading practices

I called Benjamin Franklin to inspect a leak. First eyeball was to recommend new hot water heater which would require multiple hundred dollar monthly payments. I rejected that proposition and he inspected the pipe and found a pin hole with a fixed repair cost of $400. I agreed to repair and in less time than for me to shut off all the faucets (under 10 minutes) he cut out bad pipe and replaced with a section of new plpe. I signed receipt with 2yr warranty on "our pipe" with no mention of our work product. Less than 3 days later my wife noticed wet spots and I called Benjamin Franklin to return because I noticed a 2nd pin hole on the same length of pipe but several inches beyond cut out. The same plumber came back and I was told that there was no warranty and I would have to pay again for the worker that either missed because of competency or deliberately to price gouge. I have used Benjamin Franklin because they gave me a magnet with their tel number to call but because of my age I do not recall the dissatisfaction of the 2 other encounters which involved gross over charges and costs of parts for kitchen faucet.

Avoid at all cost !

They rush their jobs and make mistakes. After their last visits, they left my furnace running 24/7. We found out several weeks later after we came back from a vacation. We tried to contact them but they would not even return our calls. They are very expensive and unreliable.

Worse 'plumbers' in tri-state area

I had a leaking pipe under kitchen sink and called Franklin(sadly) because I go through willias heating and cooling(great company). It took weeks to get someone out to fix it and when they came to "fix" the problem they fixed it for 4 days. So I call again and have to wait again for weeks, during the winter; with water just pooling up in my basement now. This time they can not find the leak lol, all my pipes are literally in a 3x3x4 area(which is where the problem is, dripping down into basement). Can not find the leak with the ceiling falling down and dripping. So they, for God only knows why; disconnect the water to my dishwasher, turn it on and turn on the heater. I have never smelled anything like what happened, they fried my pumps in dishwasher(only year and a half old) and then tell me its a flue pipe going up through the roof. Even though the dripping continues when it doesn't rain for several weeks: even though when it does rain the dripping does not increase 1 bit... I have checked the pipe up there, it is fine. These guys at Ben Franklin plumbing are not plumbers they are demolition men! If you want to pay someone to act like they know what they are doing and destroy your utilities, then by all means give them all call!! This is not even mentioning how they NEVER answer any of my 5 emails about the incident, or how I cancelled my yearly plan with them, YET they still access my credit card and pull out money without my consent. So I end up having to call the police since they are literally stealing from my credit card and destruction of private property(from negligence) currently in process of bringing them to court to pay for the damages THEY caused. Avoid all this, by NOT calling Ben Franklin!!!!!
