Ill never go back there they care nothing about no one they only concern is money

Just terrible that's all I gotta say been going for over twenty years but it's over never again I never experienced such bad customers service everything was awful

Manager lied to my face, Very bad customer service extremely unsatisfied

My mom been calling for over an hour to no answer being that the Miramar location was ignoring the phones it took for me to drive there to see for myself whats going on and yes I was able to confirm. I asked the manager if they dnt answer or take calls he says phones or not working I called right in front of him and they seem to be working fine and then he says oh sorry were short staffed like wth. Now I had to inconvenience myself in waiting over a hr for rice and shrimp

This is Pathetic

Not only is it staffed, the facility is the nastiest I have ever seen it. We arrived at 245pm and was told we couldnt be seated without a reservation, Mind you the restaurant is empty with only one hibachi table active. We was invited to sit at the bar where she said it was a 5 minute wait. Again nobody was there. When I got up to ask the bartender what was the problem her response was you guy can sit down. Its more than just cleanliness. Its also common courtesy. You wont be here much longer when you have people like GG working your counter. Replacements and reinforcements need to come soon! #boycottbenihanamemphis

My reservation was at 530 we didn't get seated until almost seven o clock the cook had order mess up then cleaning grill while food on the grill cooking over cooking the food cause he turned the heat up to high no kinda smile just a upset look of frustration from the cook an it was my birthday mess up my whole day an food was burnt just terrible an I've been going here for over twenty years the worst ever

Only customer service is bad not reasonable with customer a the time looking for tables to have nice day

By the time I arrive to the restaurant they dont let me get good place to have lunch also they dont care customer service not good education not professional services talk all in from the restaurant

Birthday coupon extension - I have been sick and my coupon has expired

I received a birthday coupon and missed it because I have been very sick since I had COVID in March. It keeps me down a lot so I was not able to use it. Have not been out for anything other than doctors for months. I have long time Covid and my breathing is off because it did damage to my respiratory system

This restaurant used to be wonderful. The go to place for all celebrations. I will NEVER go back!

Decreased quality and portions. Bad servicecold soup, no salad dressing on salad, grilling salmon differently so that it is hard and overcooked Chef does not do tricks anymore. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I wrote them four times!!!

Issue with order

An order was place around 10:57am to be delivered to Northwestern Hospital. 15 minutes before order was to be delivered, Alexandra (person who placed order) was contacted by the restaurant stating that order had been handed to the wrong driver. We were then instructed by the manager, Parker, to contact door dash to retrieve our order. Door dash was contacted and told that the order would have to be remade and another driver would have to come pickup for delivery. I then contacted Parker and his attitude was rude and unprofessional. No apology was given and when I asked why we as the customer would be told to contact door dash, he stated because they didn't have the phone number. I requested for the order to be cancelled and refunded which he said would take 5-10 business days. At this point, we were about 30 minutes into our lunch break. Since the order had already started to be remade, we decided to walk to pick up. Restaurant was contacted and said it would take 30 minutes. As we were heading to the restaurant about 5 minutes into the walk, we were called back and said no order was being remade since the refund process had already been started. This is the second time that we have had issues with this location. I decided to order take out for my birthday and we were left with no food and not even an apology. I am appalled at the fact that Benihana as a corporation handles their customers this way and I will never visit this location again. The staff is ghetto and unprofessional. As Northwestern is a large organization, I will be sure to let others know about this experience as this service is unacceptable.

Terrible everything!

Terrible service and food! Unbelievable that the price doesn't match the service. I would never come back! Worse experience ever. Waitress was no good the chef was terrible! The food was bland and disappointing. The price of the bill was an insult . We made a reservation and that didnt matter at all. Im very disappointed in this restaurant in Downy CA!

Lost gift cards

Good day, I have made several attempts to contact someone by phone and email to have someone assist me with the difficulty of getting the 2 $50 gift cards that I purchased 5/19/23. I was unaware that my millerzbirdfarm@***n was not accepting email. I fixed the problem with the email and still have not received the gift cards. Please let me know how to remedy this. Complete dissatisfaction and horrendous customer service

I just had THE WORST dining experience of my life at Benihana in Plymouth Meeting on April 20, 2023 for my grandsons second birthday. We had a reservation for 7:15 pm for dinner for a small group of 5 adults and 1 toddler. When we arrived at the establishment, there was no employee present at the hostess desk., no one was at the front door greeting guests nor providing any details when we arrived prior to 7:15 (we walked in the door at 7:09 pm). We were finally seated almost 30 minutes after our reservation time with no explanation even though several of the teppanyaki tables on the left side of the restaurant were empty and all of the tables on the right side were empty. No waitstaff come to the table for an additional 30 minutes to even take a drink or food order. We werent given napkins, silverware or chopsticks. The only thing on the tables were plates and menus. Other tables were being seated after us and their orders taken with beverages, food and a chef being fed before us. The waitress who finally came was names Olivia. She was very new straight out of training, took our beverage order and disappeared. We ordered a Dr Pepper, a diet Pepsi with lemon, a Tokyo mule, a haiku colada and a lemon drop. We had to go find the manager 20 minutes later when none of the beverages came to the table and we didn't see the server. The manager named Rhonda advised us that she was also serving as bartender and that she "had to stop making drinks and come to our table". She apologized for the delay which was now over an hour and 15 minutes after our reservation time and said the server was new and fresh out of training and that she would be making our beverages right now. She also asked if our food order had been taken and we said no it had not. The server Olivia came back without the beverages again but took our food order. Once the order was completed she realized that one of the menus had accidentally touched the grill and melted on the grill. She attempted to pick up the plastic with her fingers but we told her she shouldn't do that on a 500 degree grill at the risk of burning herself. The remainder of the plastic remained on the grill in front of us and no one ever came over to clean it off of the grill so we smelled burning plastic for the rest of the night. We were told by Rhonda the manager that our salad and soup would be out shortly and so would our drinks and that the chef would be back within a half hour to cook our food. Salad and soups were not served until 9:30 pm. Now we are at 2 hours and 15 minutes past the start of our reservation time. Appetizers came out at 9:40 pm. Forgotten drinks served after 10 pm. No water even offered until after 10 pm. Long story short, we werent served food until after 10 pm at no fault of the chef named Rydell. We had to have our food packaged to go at 10:35 pm. If it wasnt for the chef we would have had an even worse time but he attempted to do service recovery on our behalf because even he saw the disparity in service we received. After going on 4 hours and the manager seeking payment and we disputed the bill due to the horrible service she calls the police saying we are causing a disturbance and throwing plates in the establishment ! She locked us in the restaurant! That was the final straw... The complete audacity of calling the police, the manager not doing any attempt at service recovery or asking what could be done to rectify the situation and the fact that she LIED to the police stating that "we were defacing the property throwing plates and food and causing a disturbance". Not only did we wait to speak to the police when they arrived and told them what really transpired but the police told us they have to come there all the time because of the same reason - customers complaining about the SAME treatment, horrible service and long waits! The employees at the location corroborated with our story and told them we did nothing wrong. The police even told us to call corporate on the establishment! No apology to date and yes we paid the bill.

Order incorrect

I was at your Miramar restaurant on Friday April,7at 11:30. I order the lunch duet waited over 30 minutes and never received my shrimp, the cashier as well as the manager need to be trained with more customer service skills very upsetting that I was charged incorrectly and my food didnt meet expectations

Horrible experience/Crappy Management

Not sure who to address this email to, This March 17 of 2023 I took my wife for her birthday and family to the Benihana's located in Downey California. Needless to say that my wife was really looking forward to sharing this experience with our grandkids who are 7 and 5 yrs old. Our appointment time was at 7:30pm and we were sat 7:45pm, after that no one came to our table till 8:05pm, from there we sat and waited for our chef to come. What makes this experience ever worse is that they sat someone next to our table at around 8:05pm and the chef who we tought was ours ended up going to their table instead. There was also another table who they had sat before that table. When we finally asked our waitress what was taking so long to get a chef, we were told that the manager had given permission to send the chef to the other table because a person on that table used to work there prior. So the time kept on ticking its now 8:45 pm and nothing, during this time we kept seeing waiters and chefs coming to that table to mingle while we waited along with other table full of young kids. Finally at around 9:05pm we get a chef, who by the way was not ready and you could tell he was new. He himself expressed that he was not that experience, but would try and do his best. To start off the order in the cart was short of items, plates were missing since the waitress from the other table came and took our plates and never replaced them. All the food had massive amounts of salt and garlic, he was scrambling trying to get the items that were short food and plates. by the time the food was ready our grandkids were basically falling asleep, and everybody in our party was super upset. To make matters worse the table with the 6 young kids were so noisy because they were hungry like us and were made to wait over an hour to get a chef. Also our table because of the way the room are set up kept blowing smoke which was causing our eyes to burn, along withe the other table behind us. We had been multiple time to Benihana's and the experience was good, but this time it was actually the worst time we had. The manager came over at the end to try and apologize for what transpired with the other table getting preferential treatment. I ended spending close to $500 to have an enjoyable dinner which was far from that. Instead of my wife enjoying her birthday, she felt so bad for everybody for the experience. We did not get out of there till 11pm exactly 4 hours from the time we got there. I have tried multiple times to get a hold of the General Manager Oscar Duran there at this location to no avail. I sincerely hope that Benihana's will make some type of arrangement due to this such poor service. Thank You,

Complaint

When I booked this reservation a week ago, I specifically said that this was a surprise birthday dinner for my 15-year-old son. I called when we got there because there was an issue with the parking garage and we couldnt get up to park because another car was stalled so I called to let them know we would be 5 to 10 minutes late even though we were there we were just trying to park. We got there about 15 minutes after our 7:15 reservation. We were treated like we were just some hobos walking in off the street by the staff who just pushed us to the side and took everyone before us. l Ive been in the service industry since I was 14 so its been 20 years. I started off waitressing , then just recently stopped bartending after 13 years of that, and I know exactly what was going on. The waitress seated us with an older white family that was probably upper middle class, I came in with me, my 15-year-old son, my four-year-old son, and my 10 month old daughter, we were all dressed very nicely and are upper middle class too, but the waitress saw us, assumed that I was some single mother that had children that were gonna be making a big mess and misbehaving, and then I wouldnt tip so she put no effort into us at all. She came to the table and said to the 40 year old man at the family at the table with us, and said oh happy birthday birthday boy! And I said, oh, its my sons birthday too and she very dryly said oh happy birthday. I didnt make a big deal about it, but I had specifically put in our reservation that it was my sons 15th birthday, and this was a surprise for him, and I just continued to sit there, with my well behaved quiet nicely dressed children. She took the other peoples orders first, with a big smile on her face, then got to us and took our orders and was just rude as possible the entire time my son had ordered some Japanese soda that comes a glass bottle that you have to pop I guess, and he had ordered one and finished it, and I had finished my sweet tea and she came and refilled the family next to us drinks about three times before I finally was able to flag her down to tell her we would both like more drinks as well , then, after that, I had to ask her to please remove the three empty drink bottles from my son from in front of us, as she was just letting empty drink bottles pile up in front of us, it got to a point where my son was so embarrassed and felt so bad by how we were being treated that he just wanted to leave so I asked for the check, I had a coupon for his birthday for $30 off but she gave me the check & never came back so when I got up to use the restroom I came back and she had just run my card and didnt let me tell her that I had a coupon even though, I had put the card holder with my card underneath the napkin so that she would wait until I came back. So I didnt get to even use my coupon. My children made no mess, I made sure all of our plates and dishes were piled up and organized so that it would be easy for her to clean up as like I said, Ive been in the service industry. Honestly, the only reason I even tipped her was because I didnt want to prove her right, and I tipped her over 20% even though her behavior was awful. Like I said, Ive been in the service industry for 20 years that I just recently got out of, And I had treated all of my customers the same whether or not I thought that I was going to get tips or not, I didnt judge people and I gave the same level of service to everyone. At a restaurant like yours thats supposed to be a fine dining restaurant , I would have expected much more from your staff. Then I called today and asked to speak with the general manager and they put me on the phone with some 18-year-old kid who I know was not the manager I told him what happened and he said that there was nothing I could do but give me a $20 gift card. I already have a $30 gift card that I wasnt able to use. I never will be going back there again I want my money back, or I at least want the $30 back from the coupon that I wasnt even allowed to use because the waitress was so on attentive to us, me and my family were also treated like crap by the waitress. This is absolutely unacceptable at a restaurant of yalls caliber. I would like someone to contact me back. Thank you. Btw included pics of us last night so you can see we didnt go in against dress code or looking trashy, even though they still should have not been that way even if we were.
