Poor work and abusive employee

This was the worst experience I ever had with a repair company. It started off terribly. While walking the plumber to the area that needed repair, he says out loud, "I can not believe that these idiots try to work on their own plumbing. Then he did not do the job right. He was repairing an outside faucet and left the faucet an inch and a half away from the wall. I called the company to see if I could get the job done correctly. The manager calls the plumber, who claims that my daughter gave him permission to do the job that way. This was a blatant lie. When the job was completed, he told my daughter that this was the only way he could do it and it would cost hundreds more for him to correct it. The manager asked for pictures which I sent, but he never got back to me. It cost me $891 to have the job done incorrectly. They replaced the galvanized pipe with plex. Any complainant plumber could have done this job correctly. No matter the price, the job should have been done correctly. Worst of all. After the job was done, my 10-year-old granddaughter came out of her room crying and said the plumber had shoved her against the wall. I talked with the manager about the plumber calling me an idiot and bumping my granddaughter into the wall, but he dismissed it.

Called for a HVAC service

I was quoted a $81.00 service charge to come out and inspect my furnace and the tech called me just before showing up and said its $39.00 to show up and $call someone elsec225.00 for a diagnostic test on the Furnace. such BS there's a flashing light on the computer board that tells you what the problem is or where the problem is. I canceled and found a local guy who is reliable.

$1650 for 2 hours of work

Fixed a broken hose bib for $825/hour. Took 2 people to do a one person job. Charged $400 to work in the crawl space under my house. Another $400 for the second guy who was not needed. $75 to drive to my house and nearly $800 to replace a $20 dollar part. Done in less than 2 hours. Who charges that kind of money. Only unethical people.

A 25 minute job cost over $900

They showed up on time and communication was excellent. Getting an appointment was easy also! Very friendly all around.... . But what turned out to be a very quick (2 guys were here less than half an hour ) replacement of a hose water spigot cost me over $900. Was absolutely absurd. I will labsolutely never call this company again. Price gouging at its best!

I am pissed the used car salesman technique from the repairman. A very snide attitude he had. If I didn't need the job done so bad I would have sent him away

overcharged me, along with a nasty attitude, I will never recommend Beacon to anyone. Too bad they use Marshawn Lynch it makes him look bad.

Bad Company

I can't believe this company!! If you want a company that doesn't care about their employees at all then this is the one for you. My husband worked for this company. He would put in 70 hours a week going in at 7 am and some times not getting home till 10pm. The other day our 13 year old had a seizure and hurt herself really bad and was in the ER all night and part of the next morning. My husband called the night it happened and let them know he could not come in the next day because we needed to take care of our child....... Well what did they do...... they fired him. How can a company that says they do so much good let an employee go because their daughter was in the ER with a broken eye socket and a first time seizure. This company is a poor excuse for humans. We are a family that work hard and just try to make it by and now we are left with out anything because of them. I didn't want to believe others that work there that said they fire and rehire employees ALL THE TIME. What kind of people act like that? What kind of people but a business before a medical emergency.

This compay can not be trusted

I call them up to come over to look at my furnace. They show up at my house in an hour. They look at my furnace and told me it's not working and want over $400 for diagnostic and give me an option to replace with a new furnace around 5K or 6K. This company want to make a quick buck and did not care about their customer. They charge me $82 and leave. I call customer service to complain about their service and make matter worse. (They will lecture and try to insulting you). Do not fall in their trap like I did, and do not call Beacon Plumbing for any kind service you. You will be regret.

Price gouging

Had them service a leaking 3/4" copper pipe on Sunday (+$100). Two employees arrived within a reasonable time. One worked while the other sat in their vehicle or spent time chatting. 1 hr 45 minutes after they arrived they were driving away after charging me $1,200. I challenged a cost of ~$600 an hr for replacing a 1.5' of pipe, it was explained to me that Seattle insurance premiums drove the price up. The cost was a surprise since they refused to estimate the cost up-front. Be careful, I doubt Marshawn Lynch (TV Add) is aware Beacon Pluming if ripping folks off. I attempted to contact their office multiple times over a year, and was ignored.

Total scam artists

Asked Beacon to contact us with information as to what they felt they should be paid for. Never received an answer.Wanted just to finished this off.

They offered to remove lien on our property for 1/2 payment. We paid 1/2 of a crazy bill with no explanation of why they chose to do this.

We were told they place liens "for shock value". Terrible.I still have a pending small claims court case pending for the damage done to our property.

Called them for help, they never fixed the problem, insisted on payment before they would leave. Found another company who immediately fixed the problems at half the cost estimated by Beacon. Stopped payment to Beacon. They never contacted us and just put a lien on our property. Now we have a huge hassle from these scammers. We are now suing them.

The plumber

The plumber came out to fix my hose bib as it was leaking. I had to put a cap on it for it to stop. He said he had fixed it and charged me $383. He me told that if he couldn't fix it, that there would be no charge. That afternoon it was leaking again. He came back 3 times and then said he could not fix it. He said the office would credit my card. Well they refused. So I paid them all that money for nothing. I have disputed it with my bank and also put in a complaint with the BBB. I wished I had come to this site, I would NEVER have called them.

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE

WARNING BEACON PLUMBING HIRES ONLY BULLIES THAT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL AS IF YOU NEED THEIR SERVICES OR YOU WILL HAVE DRASTIC PLUMBING ISSUES. I CANNOT BELIEVE I FELL FOR THEIR CON PRICING JOB!!

Original review Jun 18, 2020
YOU WILL BE LEAKIN and FREAKIN IF YOU CALL BEACON PLUMBING- 1st visit - 02-5-20 Job #218 My first encounter with Beacon plumbing was in September 2018 for $2814 when they replaced my sump pump which I later found out from local plumbing competitors could have been replaced for half the cost. Beacon informed me after the completion of work Ned informed me that the sump pump had a 5-year warranty. Fastr forward to Feb 5, 2020. I was out fo town on a business trip when I received a call from my tenant that there was water coming out of the laundry room. I immediately called Beacon plumbing and they sent Santos to identify the problem. My neighbor had the keys to my house and greeted Santos regarding the plumbing issue. Santos was ill informed and believed my 2-year old pump was 4-years old. Santos then waived the fee of $524 for less than 2 hours of onsite service. 2nd visit 03-03-20 - 1:00AM Job# No paperwork provided - service tech: unknown The night before on 03-02-20, I was doing laundry and I noticed that the water was starting to back up from the sump pump causing flooding in the laundry room. I called Beacon Plumbing and a tech came out within the hour. When he arrived I could tell that he was not able to confidently diagnose the problem. He unplugged the sump pump and plugged it back in saying it was working properly and that I should call in the morning for a more experienced tech to diagnose the problem. I then asked the tech to vacuum up the sewage water and he refused. I vacuumed the sewage water as packed up his tools and he departed thereafter. The next morning I call 3nd visit 03-03-20 11:00AM Job# 220156 service tech: Robert After several hours it seemed Beacon could not diagnose the problem clearly and informed me that the sewer lines needed to be scoped and cleaned from root intrusions and the cost was $2000. Being a single woman and feeling intimidated after my 3rd meeting with Beacon, my tech Robert assured me that this would solve my basement flooding problem and I agreed to the scope of work. Robert informed me that it would be in my best interest to purchase 2 cans of root treatment for $350 and he would give me a $50 discount. I was later informed by a Beacon competitor that I could get the same result with $10 worth of live yeast at the super market. 4th visit 03-06-20 08:30 Job# 220285 service tech: Ned On the morning of 3-6-20 I received another call from my tenant that there was massive flooding of sewage water coming from the laundry room where the sump pump is located. I immediately called Beacon and they informed me that they could be there within 90 minutes. As the sewage water was spewing into my basement unit, I decided to call the city because Beacon offered no immediate solution. The city came to the house to shut off the main water line. Beacon later arrived to diagnose that the flapper valve had malfunctioned. They replaced it without charge. When I asked Ned, the head tech, if it was necessary to have spent the $2536 on the root cleaning, his response was, I cant answer that question. I knew at that moment that I was being taken advantage of as a single woman. On the morning 03-09-20, I called Beacon requesting an in-person meeting to discuss the charges of $2536 for root intrusion clean up. I was met at my home by Ned and a lead foreman. I expressed my dismay at the magnitude of the problem that had resulted. Beacon representatives responded with bullying tactics, condescending language, a lack of empathy and zero remorse for damages which are still under construction 90 days after the incident occurred. My basement was flooded with sewage. I lost rental income and I have spent 120+ hours managing the repairs which are still ongoing. In conclusion: Dont use Beacon Cuz youll be Leakin and then Freakin BTW THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP KASEN LACKS ANY MORAL COMPASS AND WILL NOT DO THE RIGHT THING!! MAKES EXCUSES FOR THEIR PRICE GOUGING!!

Avoid being scammed by Beacon Plumbing

Felt scammed by Beacon Plumbing yesterday. Hot water heater died - called Beacon. Said they would be out to service between 2-5pm and quoted a $75 service call charge. Their technician started calling at 9am to arrange an earlier time. After multiple calls from technician, Beacon arrived at 11am. After a brief explanation of the issue, the technician said $300 diagnostic fee was needed and required me to sign to acknowledge the fee. "Diagnostic test" took less than 10 mins. Technician said needed a $2,600 part which he would have to order and not sure when it would arrive OR they happen to have a $5,600 replacement tankless water heater on their truck which they could install. Fortunately, I had a contractor on site doing some remodel work. He called a plumber reference and they quoted $4,000 to do the same work. I feel Beacon scammed with an ridicules $300 diagnostic fee and a push to overpay for a replacement hot water heater. We called Beacon home office today to complain about the diagnostic fee and overcharge quote to replace. Their response was "not our issue". Very unprofessional and ,as I understand from talking to others, this appears to be a trend with how Beacon operates.

Check You Tube before calling ANYONE!!!

I bought a new washing machine and when the people came to hook it up they said there was a leak in the cold water spigot going to my washer. My wife had a Beacon guy come out on a SUNDAY (of course these things don't happen on a weekday!) charging me $110 just to just LOOK AT IT ($100 for service call + $10 tax for a Sunday). Told us a couple of things that he could do to fix this problem that would end up costing me $700 or more. Told this guy - No way we're paying that much! Thanks to You Tube, I didn't have to have these rip-offs gouge me for more than they already did for doing NOTHING! Watched a You Tube video, went to Home Depot and got a new valve and replaced it myself for just over $10. ( https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/plumbing/valves/outlet-boxes/oty-38550-quadtro-washing-machine-outlet-plain-box-no-valves ) WOW! They couldn't tell me this??? Gouging-Rip-off-Opportunists! Make sure to check out You Tube for your answer before calling ANYONE! Do to your covert tactics to be less than honorable and honest, I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER call or use Beacon Plumbing!!! Here's the video: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=you+tube+REPLACING+A+WASHING+MACHINE+VALVE&&view=detail&mid=08643A3DEB8968F5602B08643A3DEB8968F5602B&&FORM=VRDGAR The guy that came out had zero personality and really didn't seem to care about our situation. Took me about 10 minutes to fix after getting the valve...Still can't believe they gouged me $110 for doing NOTHING! Didn't say ANYTHING about JUST REPLACING THE VALVE!!! WOW!!!

Scammers, dishonest, snarky and aggressive

they did show up immediately which was great. the undermined the structural integrity of a stairwell. they did not cap a pipe. once they realized we had expert advice and were getting bids for the rest of the non emergent work they got angry. We know they can get inspection done and pull ther permit and leave what they have done open. Dishonest another words. And charging 3x the amount of other bids. They are making it hard for us to move on and finish the job with another plumber. its a battle.

Scam, total scam

They know you are taking time off to wait for their visit. They say the problem could be significant, then it turns out $1000 later to be a 30 min fix. This is why they don't charge by the hour. No way they could screw you the way they do if it was by the hour. Never, never again will I use Beacon.
