Closed account without notice

Bank allowed transfer into my account but wouldn't let me transfer it out use debt card, or pay bills. They closed my account without any notice. To get money back that was in my account they are telling me I have to contact a 3rd party company to give account number of different account so they can transfer the money. Bank of the west is a joke do not use them! If you have them now I would recommend getting a new bank before this happens to you.

Title for a car that was not signed since 2016

Bank of the West sent a title for a car and it wasnt signed. I can not get license plates for the car and that means I cant drive it. I faxed the paperwork over to bank and I have not heard a word. Pissed.com Thanks, Ms. Taylor 773-750-****

Wont post transfer of funds for payoff

Have purchased a trailer and paid the lien at sellers bank. Have proof of them receiving, but they trying to insist they dont have it, and have an attitude about it.

Looking for our Lien Release

We paid off our RV loan with Bank Of The West on June 14,2022, Account ending in #4695 for the amount of $46,995.45. We have not received our lien release as of today, June 30, 2022. I cannot get through on your customer service #. Please advise as we want to sell the camper and cannot because we do not have the lien release Can you please let me know when it was mailed out. I mailed my credit card payment in to pay in full, 21 days later it still has not been applied, a clerk said they hold the checks for 15 days for security reasons. I'm one fine hair from changing bank

sitting on my money, not applying it to my credit card. I have been embarrassed a number of times due to being declined, even after I called to make sure I could make a larger purchase, just to be declined 5 min later, same with a 100.00 purchase. I am sick of being humiliated. I sent an email to the CEO of BOTW, I have not received any replies as of yet. Today they are still sitting on my check, they must need to get our interest rate pay pretty bad.

Extremely Bad Customer Service

This bank has to be one of the worst banks Ive ever had. Over the phone customer service is extremely unprofessional, rude, and uneducated.

DOES NOT HONOR THEIR PROMOTIONS AND KEPT MY MONEY FOR 8 MONTHS

I received a promotion in the mail to open a new checking and savings account (bonus of $500 with a $25000 deposit into the checking account and $100 bonus with a $10000 deposit in the savings account). I opened accounts online on 6/28/2021 and initiated my deposits via ACH from my Citibank during the account application. The terms and conditions mention that the deposits must be received by the end of the month in which the account was opened, which is impossible for an ACH transfer to complete in a couple of days for accounts which are opened near the end of the month. I inquired of customer service rep regarding this issue, and they mentioned that if an account is opened near the end of the month, you have until the 7th of the following month to deposit the funds. Due to the large amount of $35000, Citibank put a temporary hold on the transfer to ensure there was no fraudulent activity occurring. As a result, my $35000 did not reach my Bank Of The West accounts until July 8th (ONE day later). I inquired again if I would still be eligible for the bonus and they told me the Research team would not review the accounts until 1/31/2022. Ultimately, I was declined the bonus due to the funds reaching my account 1 day late as a result of my Citibank ensuring that the large funds transfer was legitimate. Bank Of The West DOES NOT care about their customers, nor new customers, I find this instance to be almost a bait & switch tactic essentially holding customers funds as long as possible essentially giving the bank an interest-free loan for 6+ months as all accounts are not even reviewed until 1/31/2022. I am appalled by the lack of care & value for its customers that Bank Of The West has and I think I will be closing my accounts soon. I even had my local branch manager (who was very nice) advocate to the corporate office on my behalf, but they are unwilling to do anything. I was considering doing other business with them too because they seemed to have good loan rates etc. BUT ID ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING ANY BUSINESS WITH BANK OF THE SHADY WEST. UnbelievableHolding my money for 8 months interest free and not honoring their promtion...what a crooked bank. STAY AWAY so many better banks out therethis is the WORST bank and WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE Ive experienced from any bank in my life!

THIS BANK IS THE WORST, CANNOT GET CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PHONE IN THERE LOBBIES(WHICH THEY DON'T HAVE OPENED) OR ANYWHERE FOR THAT MATTER!!!!

THEIR ATM SHORTED ME 40.00 AND CANNOT GET THEM ON THE PHONE TO VERIFY THAT THEY SHORTED ME, HORRIBLE BANK!!!

Need to know if there is any money left in an account

I was on hold for almost a full hour, with nothing happening. My 102 year old step mother passed away last week, and all I was attempting to do for my quite distraught 101 year old, WWII Air Traffic Controller, that sent the planes to Normandy on D Day, was to inquire if he had left any funds in your bank, when he switched to Chase, as he needs every penny, as he needs to move. Terrible customer service

Don't ever do business with this bank. There customer service is terrible. The managers are arrogant and hide behind the fine print rules to penalize the customer. I was charged a fee to deposit cash at a branch. Isn't that the main purpose of a bank is to process deposits and withdrawals form the customer. This was one of many items on why I will never ever bank with this organization again!

Bank of the West Employee Mistake Became My Problem

My following experience was with the bank itself in Larkspur, CA. It went from poor to horrible quickly. I used the ATM to make a deposit and withdraw $100. Unbeknownst to me an employee did NOT place the ATM in 'Supervisor Mode'. As a result, I stood there waiting for my withdrawal and ATM Card of which neither were returned. Then I had to go inside to the bank to be told the money in the ATM had to be counted and I would have to wait or return on Monday or go to the teller and withdraw the $100. I was told at the bank before leaving that the original $100 withdrawal from the ATM would be credited and I was 'good to go'. Upon returning home I received a call from the manager who then informed me the onus was on me to call 800 488-**** (been holding 55 minutes as of this writing) and file a claim of the non receipt of $100.00. I then pointed out that the bank's mistake suddenly became my problem and asked the manager to call on my behalf. He said he couldn't do it since he wasn't 'a customer'. C'mon...really? This is the second time I've had an issue with this manager and truthfully that's why I've been using the outside ATM to avoid him. I've been a Bank of the West for way too long to deal with this type of service. I would appreciate a call from the bank.

Worst Bank Ever

I've held a loan here for 3 years, never received payment booklet, never able to sign on to view my account and have called hundreds of times with hold times up to 2hrs. I blindly sent payments through bill pay never knowing when they're even due, only to find they have been piling up late fees i had no idea about as i was paying my monthly amount on autopay. Now I have hits on my credit for late payments for the late fees I had no idea about. Still, no one will assist. Finally got through after waiting an hour and a half only to be told it's not their fault no one answers the phone. And the bank made the decision to stop monthly statements. I've never received mail because they had the wrong address apparently and still they take no responsibility after I've paid every month for 3 years
