Lewis needs a raise!!

This was my first time renting a car by myself, my first time stepping foot in an airport, Im newly 25 and wanted to plan a short trip after a hard month before it got too cold out. I booked through Expedia, which was my mistake and will not happen again!! Now, technically I rented a car from Budget. But at the airport there was 1-2 people manning the Avis, Budget, and Payless counter. There were a few hiccups, Expedia allowed me to rent with a debit card even though a credit card is actually required. Expedia should not have allowed that, so I dont blame anyone but them. However because of this I was originally told by an older man in a dark green shirt that I was SOL. I asked about potentially FaceTiming my mom to show her ID and using her card, I asked about other collateral, I asked about any possible options, but that man quite literally yelled NEXT with me still right in front of him. Not the end of the world, but I was overwhelmed and irritated that my booking was being rejected even after I called Budget to confirm the rental, my only ride had left 30 minutes ago, so Ill admit I went outside started crying. I called Expedia to sort everything out but they were useless of course. None of that has anything to do with the 5 star rating, but leads up to the people who did help do me right and I sincerely feel like 5 stars is earned. An Avis employee named Lewis noticed there was a problem and absolutely sprung to action. I was in full meltdown mode sitting outside on the ground but Lewis and his wife, who even offered to personally drive me home, went out of their way to contact a manager and get me into my rental with my debit card. They spent almost an hour working on a solution without my knowledge while I was dealing with Expedias nonsense. Lewis wife walked up to me confirming a little info and then told me to come with her. The three people in the booth got me into my car so quickly and efficiently that I wasnt totally sure I didnt fall asleep and dream it. I am so so grateful to them for not only helping but noticing there was an issue in the first place. That type of customer service and intuition cant be taught. They went out of their way to solve a problem that wasnt theirs at all to deal with and saved my little weekend getaway. If I ever need to rent a car again Im coming straight to Lewis at Avis. Ill be calling Avis customer service after my trip to compliment them directly too, the three people who brought me over to them and helped me actually get the rental all deserve raises and recognition.

Over charge resulting in collection accounts

Rented a car online (Nissan), charged my Am Ex for the rental, and then was charged for a vehicle (Dodge) I did not have. After many attempts to resolve this with Avis I went to my bank who gave me a partial provisional credit. When the provisional credit was given, Avis sent this amount to Viking Client Services. I now have two accounts in collections that are not true as of August 11, 2023 (date of the letters). What next? Are they going to add more incorrect accounts when the charges are finally reversed by my bank? I am working on a project that is credit-driven and if this hits my credit report and affects my financials and the project outcome. I will pursue a path of action.

Rental not available for pickup You just keep me running around. I have told twice. You charged $1575,08. For car that is not there Company said, we are sorry for inconvenience There is nothing we can do I want my money back

Multiple Charges w/o Explanation

Rented a car in Naples, Italy, from 1/17 to 1/21/23. Paid in full 1/23. On 3/20 I was charged $59.56 w/o explanation. Called on 3/29 to dispute charges. Never heard back. Called again 4/4 was AVIS was unable to explain charge. On 4/21 I received an email indicating there was a toll missed & directed to contact issuing authority. I did so but they never produced any proof of the charge. So I've never seen proof of the missed toll charge. However, I paid the $59.56. On 7/20 I was charged $54.86 again w/o explanation. I called on 7/20--they couldn't explain the charges. Have heard nothing since.

Day 2 of disappointment

Yesterday was the 1st day of disappointment with Avis. Got the rental today, headed out on an 8hr drive. 2 hrs into it dash board lights start to flash. Had to pull over several times because warning stated STOP SAFELY VECHILE WILL. SHUT OFF SOON. Now mind you I'm traveling with a sick adult and 3 children. As we are stopping and driving I become ill and begin to vomit on the side of the highway. I am blessed that there were other drivers in the van with me. Then we had to go in the opposite direction of the area we were going to to try and get a replacement vehicle. Mind you we are heading to a hospital for surgery for my son. I paid an extra $200.00 today for this diabolical trip. Then the service agent stated we would be responsible for the tow. The audacity of your company to take advantage of poor unexpected people who chose your company for services.

Expired insurance cards

Called Customer Service spoke to many different people. Was transferred from claims to roadside assistance and no one was able to help. I was trying to enter a military base with an appointment and we had to show proof of insurance and registration. I was on the phone with multiple people with no help. I was advised to go to the airport.

Unsafe vehicles!

o to the airport for quality service GgI'm exhausted with complaining about the Avis location at 4204 W. Broad Street, Richmond VA. I don't know if this location is cursed or just unprofessional, I say unprofessional. My present rental from *** is currently in the status of two very bad tires. Avis told us to drive the unsafe tires to Pepboys to get the tires fixed. Why are taking the car to the tire shop? Why didn't Avis take the car to the shop? Just found out two days ago that the front tires were bald. Aren't the vehicles supposed to be checked and serviced? But, I will say, it has After all of the running around, Avis decides not to repair the tires. My wife, the supposed maintenance driver for Avis, drove the car back to Avis and sat in the office for TWO hours. Then, again, we were again told to take the rental back to the tire shop and wait for approval to to replace the tires. A mile from the rental office the tire blew. We sat in the hot desert heat for three miserable hours waiting on Avis roadside assistance. During the three hours of starvation, didn't hear a response from roadside assistance. I did the chat and was told that it would take about 15 minutes to locate the service assistance. Never received any phone call from Avis or service. Tried to call the rental office and they will not answer the phone. At this time I have a rental car that I cannot drive. This is worst rental experience that I've had. And this location is usually the problem, but there is another location a couple of miles down the street that rented us a car with a blown engine. This happened 11\2 days before my rental ended. Avis would not compensate me for the days lost nor refund us any money. Avis, other than the government is the rip-off Capitol of the U.S. Anytime you offer a service to the public, there needs to be a professionalism

Speak to a supervisor

I have not recieved my refund of the deposit which was rented on 5/17/23. I have contacted AVIS 13 times now and have gotten to refund, and each time I speak to a person they tell me it is going to be in my account in 3 to 5 days. This is inexcusable. I expected this upon rental and would not have rented if I knew this would happen.

Fraud damage charges

Avis charged us over $500 for two scuffs (not scratches, not dents, SCUFFS). When calling to dispute these charges I was given the run around for over a month. First, I was told to call back in 7 days. Then told I would be notified by email in 7-10 days. Then told it could take up to 30 days. After 30 days I was told it could take longer. I honestly think they were stringing me along until I could no longer dispute the credit card charge. Still no resolution to this issue.

Multiple poor rental experiences

Preffered status matters little. Rental vehicles have been wrong, missing and delayed when I've arrived at the lots. Avis does not inspect the vehicles for leaking tires, windshield rock chips, and most recently Sirius XM satellite radio option justed stopped working. I end up on the phone with CSR's, sometimes requiring multiple calls after being mysteriously dropped to try to resolve issues and get cost adjustments for Avis problems. I've had it. I'll burn my points on one last rental and NEVER return. I thought problems were due to COVID issues, but that's no longer excusable.rent

Preferred customer 20yrs treated poorly

LasVegas airport Avis preferred client treated very poorly. Have to wait in 1 1/2 hr lines at preferred desk with a reservation and treated like a idiot. Employees have a very bad attitude they act like they are doing you a favor. Never have cars to rent. This better than you attitude put me and many of family and friends over to Hertz never saw that coming. See ya AVIS. Another go woke go broke company

Tried to change my current reservation where I had a total price of $596 for 8 days of rental. They bumped the price of $1300 for the same car because I "modified" my reservation from arriving at 4:00

The customer service rep modified my reservation even though I told her to NOT modify my record if it meant any change to my cost. She did it anyway. I got an email that my new reservation was $1200 rather than $600. What a joke. This company is in serious trouble if they continue treating their customers like this. I won't be using them again. The next "Customer Service Rep" said she couldn't do anything so transferred me to the "Billing Department" . When the person picked up her phone was braking up so badly I couldn't understand her. I asked to be transferred to someone one else so she hung up on me. The first rep did the same. Really sad situation for a company that supposedly "tries so hard".

Poor Customer Service

First of all truck was filthy; if I can give them 0 stars I would - Rented the truck during my stay out in Nebraska during a blizzard - 1 hr later tire blows, my family and pregnant wife were stranded for 4 hours on the highway. Mind you weather was extremely cold, raining and snowing 23 degrees at the time pulled over on the freeway contacted their customer support kept getting the run arounds stated someone was heading our way to assist us with changing the tire; the customer support desk asked if there was any tools in the truck to change the tire.. why on earth do we need to do all that lie on the cold, rainy, snowy pavement when we paid for the service.. she then quickly stated there was someone on their way we waited 3 hrs for them never showed. I called again and they mentioned there was no claim done therefore we needed to submit another one.. we gave up it was 12:00 am no one showed. Luckily a good samaratin stopped and assisted us with changing the tire. Whatever you DO NOT rent from AVIS - budget was very helpful.. after returning the truck and making a complaint with the Manager on site this turd was absolutely no help not to mention the assistance as well Manager Named Aaron Janet - worse support ever - the whole time this girl thought it was a joke laughing under her breath Location - OMAHA NEBRASKA - Eppley Airport/Airfield ---4501 Abbott Dr, Omaha, NE 68110 - I ended up going with Budget the next day - smooth transaction, assistance outstanding; great prices!!
