No show

3 days in a row, no shows. Then tried to keep my $610 deposit after I rented a truck and moved myself. Beware!

Worst company ever

I used this company in August of 2016 and it still bugs me to this day that I was duped so badly. I was promised a pick up date and they did pick up on time; however, they are brokers so I had to pay more at the pick up because I was told if the items had to be weighed on the other end it would be even more. Say good-bye to your goods because it took almost a month to arrive. There were missing and broken items (beware) the insurance is a joke - they covered nothing. Calling does absolutely no good either - good luck. Lesson learned. If I ever have to move in the future - I will do it myself.

Don't use Assurance Van Lines

They are apparently a broker even though I asked upfront whether that was the case. I was told no. I was shocked when a different company picked up my stuff in Ohio and a third company delivered them. Everything I packed arrived ok even though the boxes were trashed. Every item that the 'professional packers' packed arrived broken and damaged. The worst was my mother's antique rocking chair. Some ignoramus must have put it at the bottom of the truck and piled heavy boxes on top because it had a stress fracture that I'm not sure can even be repaired. Another example is my beautiful, artistic metal birdbath. It arrived bent and looked like it had been put through a metal furnace. When I tried to get in touch with them, I could not find a phone number that anyone answers, the emails I was given are no longer valid and I guess I now have to 'eat' the damages because I don't know how to file a claim. The idiots who delivered the goods were foreigners who barely spoke English. They demanded payment before they'd unload the truck. I'm sure it's because they knew my stuff was damaged. My advice: find a different moving company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

If you don’t live on New York or Florida don’t use them. They are a BROKER. They give you an estimate because they have no idea what will be charged because they never see your furniture. They contract to the actually mover and the actually mover is the one who has to deal with the customer and break the news that it will cost more. Bad experience. Hire local movers NEVER deal with anyone out of state. Lesson learned. ️

Buyer Beware

I was not told that this company brokers out the move to other companies. They were late on both ends, overcharged ,made false promises. I would never recommend ! The brokered company never answered the phone in sales, customer service or Dispatch. I had no idea when they were coming. I travel internationally and needed an estimate of arrival time so that I could make arrangements. They held the goods for a month. They wouldn't take items up the stairs because my location was my barn and not the house. I was told one set of stairs was free. We were also charged for walking from the street to the barn. They claimed that they couldn't get in the driveway. I had had previous movers in the driveway with an 18 wheeler. This was the worst move out of 4 that I have made very smoothly.

Look elsewhere for your moving needs

Thankfully, all my belongings arrived in good condition, but the process I had to go through was one of the biggest, most stretched-out life stresses and headaches that I can remember dealing with. Because of that, I cannot recommend using Assurance Van Lines under any circumstances! I was constantly worried about the livelihood of all my physical possessions. I was sold by their skilled salespersons selling a service that on the surface seems great, but after digging further was found to be all lies. All of their high ratings on MyMovingReviews and YellowPages are FAKE – left by FAKE profiles which they paid for, to drown out all the 1 star ratings from real customers. They are NOT BBB accredited. When I wanted to cancel my move one day outside of their cancellation policy, I was given zero remorse or solution - they offered to cancel it but were not willing to return my $1000 deposit which was obviously not an option for me. The "call center" is run by staff who are young, immature and not interested in your satisfaction as a customer whatsoever. They have your money and they know that you're stuck, and take advantage of you. I know my responsibility to spread the word so that less people have to go through what I did, or so that the business changes their practices to be more customer oriented. If you are stuck in the same situation as me and you can’t get out, make sure you know your rights as a receiver of moving services and make sure you have INSURANCE (home owners or renters) to protect your belongings.

Rip Offs

They kept my daughter's deposit. She called today & booked them ( moving in 2 weeks for a job) . She was told she could cancel if she did it same day. She called back 1 hour later & they said it was Non- Refundable!! Spoke to Eli! I called & they said had because they were picking her things up next week. Told her 7 days! They told me 7 Business Day!! Sneaky & deceptive. Wish she would have read all the horrible reviews beforehand. They have a F rating with BBB. " Do NOT Use " this company!!

Disrespectful and lies about returning your deposit.

I called Insurance Van Line for a move from Colorado to Nevada. I explained to Robert Davis that's my son has a key to my storage shed. Because I am leaving tomorrow for Nevada and he could not book me in right away. So, I gave him a deposit through my bank, 400.00 (which he took out of minutes) I explained to him that you would have to contact my son to get in the storage unit. After I got done talking to Robert Davis , I talk to my son about it for 15 to 20 minutes, and then call Robert Davis back and said I need to cancel this order, my son told me it was way too expensive. Mr. Davis said absolutely will get your full refund back. And come to find out they have been trying to call my son, telling him that they can lower the price. My son had nothing to do with my move he just had to key in my shed. So I've been fighting tooth and Nails trying to get the money back. I ended up calling my bank, bank of the San Juans is is the best bank out there. So,right now I'm having them deal with it trying to get my money back. I canceled that order within the hour that I called them. Three weeks later (after I notice the money was not back into my account, they called me back and said that I had to email them a cancellation and Robert Davis never never told me that. The three weeks later somebody did. If I can give this a star rating it would be a 0. As they do not communicate with each other for very well.

Bait and switch moving company

Assurance vanlines moving company...dishonest and poor quality services. Promised delivery in five to eight days. It's two weeks today and just told, because I finally called, it would be another five days! PLUS, final cost is MORE than twice than original quote. Terrible experience‼️. Avoid this Assurance Vanlines absolutely‼️ James Gigliotti

Worst Moving Experience Ever!!!!!

If a Billy Deleo or Kyle Oldrich talk to you from Assurance Van Lines they are trying to scam you. Hang up the phone. I worked with both of them and they are not honest men. I was asked by the moving company to come up an extra $1200 on the day of my move. This is how this company operates. My furniture also arrived 4 days later than I was told by Billy and Kyle. When it did arrive my leather couch and Dining room table were both damaged. I would not use Assurance Van Lines out of Florida. It was an awful experience.

Scam Move from San Antonio to Florida

I was asked for $1200 more than the estimate when movers arrived!' They used my supplies such as bubble wrap, tape, boxes, etc. No one knew how to pack China or Chrystal and no one spoke English or acted as if they didn't. My Spanish speaking neighbor came to teach them how to pack. My attorney was present and can verify this. I bought them supper and they spoke enough English to tel me what they wanted to eat and to make sure I was paying for it! When they left was the first time I was informed that they were unloading my things in Houston. Then in perfect English Jose, the leader I suppose, asked for tips! This was July 26th. It's August 8 and I've never seen my belongings or know where they are. My conversations with a man named To in Houston were rude and totally useless! Please don't ever use Assurance Moving Services. Even the name is a scam.

RE: Assurance Van Lines

Assurance Van Lines picked up my furniture in Michigan to be delivered i Florida. I was told to give a weeks notice to another company called Midwest Movers to where furn was to be delivered. When I found out my move in date was July 25, or 26. I called Midwest movers where Assurance Van Lines had sent my belongings . This call to Midwest was on July 10. At that time they stated they would take my information but gave no confirmation. Four calls later still got no where with a confirmation date. Here I am now on July 24, calling still again and again they say sorry, we have you on a list but cannot confirm delivery. I then call Assurance van lines and ask for a supervisor and was informed there is not one. I asked who the President of the company was, they did not know. I was put on hold while Assurance called Midwest and was told by Assurance, no furniture would be delivered this week. Hopefully next week. Really???? They charge top dollar. I would not recommend Assurance to anyone. They make it sound like they have full control over your belonging. They have none and don't care.

Assurance Van Lines - Stealing from the elderly

July 14, 2017 - 76 year old woman calls to inquire on moving services from Michigan to Florida. Obtains information and is NEVER told that she has no cancellation period at all. If she signs her $950.00 deposit is gone!! Signs the online contract and immediately realizes she has made a mistake. Especially when she sees she needs to pay the driver in CASH!. Calls her credit card company immediately to stop the transaction. Calls back Assurance within hours and are told this is not what she wants to do. The agent, Jason yells at her and she gets upset and hangs up. Jason, supposedly alerts a manager who doesn't call her but emails her a few days later telling her she cannot get her deposit back. I call John Edwards, the manager on her behalf who tells me, they do not record their calls. He doesn't care if she is confused, and "needs to knock some sense into her", that she is "lying" and she must have "closed her eyes and checked the box" on the contract. Are you kidding me? You're accusing this elderly woman of lying. You can talk with her for 2 minutes about moving and realize she is confused and distraught over moving and someone at Assurance should have made certain she understood clearly before signing the contract. Instead, I'm sure you were very happy to take her $950 and yell at her. This company makes me sick.

Not pleased with Assurance Movers

I agree with the other bad reviews. Jamie Richards set up my move- said it would take 2-3 days. When we got to 3 days and I called, they said that was just an estimate. When I looked in my pages of paperwork it did say that moves of 500 to 1000 miles would be 3-6 days. When we got to 6 days I called and they said that was just an estimate. I said clients should be told up front that was just an estimate. By day 10 (!) I called and they said it might be that day which it ended up being. One thing was broken and one box was wet on the bottom. I emailed Jamie who was so friendly while taking my money with no response. I wasn't surprised unfortunately. Glad it is over with-- very discouraged. Also, they do not do the moving but subcontract with other companies to move your stuff. Run fast away from this company. Lisa
