Harassment

Several years ago I had a membership with West Side Fitness in GR, MI. I fell behind because I couldn't take my banged up knee to the gym, and notified them of such. They not only kept adding monthly fees, but even renewed my membership. Months later, I reached an accommodation with them to settle for a certain amount. However, when I went to pay the agreed amount, I found they wanted five times as much because they'd CONTINUED adding fees and renewals, even though I wasn't using their services, and had been in default. Who does that? Anyway, it constitutes breach of verbal agreement, which is a legal contract, and I told them so. YEARS went by. Now I get calls from Allied on a weekly, if not daily basis, and, if I try and contact them, I get nowhere. The point? If you're a senior living on fixed income, stay away from West Side Fitness. Use the Silver Sneakers program at Blue Cross. You'll save yourself a ton of aggravation because their collection agency is a bunch of idiots.

Sprint scam with collections

Our last bill with Sprint (believe cycle was Dec 2018/Jan 2019) but it was QUITE A WHILE ago. Any way we paid our final bill, then another bill was sent, which I tried to pay in a store to get a verbal closure and the store would not accept the payment. So (I believe) it was paid online or mailed. A few months later a collection agency (don't know if it was Allied) called to collect the "final bill." This was ridiculous and just went on. Finally to get them off our back we paid their suggested compromised amount, and then months later, guess what--another collections call. This is fraud, criminal, and now it is harassment.

Received Notice On Already Paid Account

I received a lien notice on an account that was paid in full two years ago. I have since paid my HOA dues on time and am current. Luckily, I kept all information on this being paid including my bank statements showing ACH payments made to Allied Collection Services. I even have a copy of the release of lien that was removed as a result of the debt being paid two years ago. I will be contacting Allied and my HOA Monday morning. This was stressful to receive in the mail on a debt already taken care of.

Unaware of debt

Recived notice from the company in which I represent(im a realtor) today that they have received a garnishment notice for a debt dating back to 2006. Just checked my credit report and there is nothing showing on there for Allied collections. I am completely unaware of this debt. Now tomorrow i have to start investigating. Completely embarrassing for me!!!

Harassing me about a 15 year old debt.

Keep calling me. Finally told lady off yesterday. Told her it was 15 years old, 5 years past any collection threats she could say. It was written off on a settlement payment program for $500, which I still have the cancelled checks. Household pulls this *** Take a settled ancient debt and sell it.

Surfing for Suckers!!

Both my husband and I received phone calls asking for me using my maiden name which I haven't used in almost 20 years. The only phone call I received came across on my cell phone as "Scam Likely" from an Alabama number. The recorded message they left on my voicemail said this was their 3rd and final attempt and was somewhat threatening. The first time I called the number left on my voicemail, I spoke with a Ms. Brown who was terribly rude and unprofessional; she hung up on me because I wouldn't confirm my social security number. I then checked the reverse directory to find the number left on my voicemail was a cellular phone out of Washington state belonging to a private individual. I called back today and spoke with a Mr. Fuller who said he was with Allied National Debt Recovery. He was very helpful and gave me the details about my collection account and offered me 3 different payoff options to offset further legal action by the creditor. He gave me so many details that I deducted this was an account setoff in my bankruptcy filed 15 years ago. He checked his records to find that yes, this account was included in my bankruptcy (he even had the attorney's name) on file. He advised he would remove my name and number from their database and forward the bankruptcy documentation to the creditor so I would be removed from any further legal action. I truly believe this is an individual buying up old debt accounts to see if they can scare a person into making payments to them. Please BEWARE and if you do talk to a person, be persistent and try to get as much detail as possible before making any arrangements.

Harassment's of the elderly!!

This company called my elderly mother to obtain credit card information, stating a bill was in collections for non-payment and needed to be settled immediately. They knew enough to get her attention, keep her on the phone, and scared the *** out of her! Fortunately, she was cognizant enough to not give out banking or credit card numbers. She told them they had permission to speak with me, (daughter) and if they had my name and number then they should call me. But, she did not volunteer anything.... It *** me off people prey on the elderly!

Allied Credit representatives are scammers, intentionally and habitually breaking the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as documented below:

1. Failure to send written notice: Upon reviewing my Credit Report recently, I discovered Allied Collection alleged a debt, dated 8/2013 for 115.00 (Original Amount they posted) from Harrah’s Casino Hotel in New Orleans. Harrah’s nor Allied ever submitted written notice to me of this allegation. Fact: I stayed at the Casino Hotel, with my charge card on file to cover my stay. Stayed for two nights, 1 night was with reward points, the other was paid for with Credit Card. Upon departing, checked out at front desk; $115.00 had been paid on charged on card for one night, the other night was Complementary. Left hotel in good-standing. A hotel, holding your credit card on file will charge any amount they think you owe before or after you leave their hotel. There was not a dispute at check out time or billed later on my Credit card; what was due was charged at checkout time. My first discovery of this alleged debt was upon reviewing my Credit report in 2017. 2) Attempting to Collect More Than Owed or in my case, when nothing is owed and Illegally inflate debts. I don’t owe one dime to this company, yet monthly on my credit report they add $1.00 3) Changing the Alleged opening date to keep account open. Remains as the only outstanding balance on my Credit Report; this debt is Alleged from my stay in 8/2013 at Harrah’s Hotel; and they post account as opened in 10/25/2013. Moreover, constantly add $1.00 monthly, as aforementioned, to keep account open. I have made numerous attempts to settle this matter: *Contacted Harrold in New Orleans, they referred me to Caesars Casino in Las Vegas. The runaround, Unsuccessful in clearing up;' *Submitted a dispute and copy of my bank statement via an Attorney to Allied and Credit Reporting Agencies, no success; *Requested a copy of their documentation of my owing the debt, received no communication from Allied and was told by Credit Reporting agency that Allied did not need to provide documentation, they only had to hold firm that I owed Harrah’s.

Unbelivable

I wanted to pay down items on my credit report. I called Allied Collections on Monday 2-5-18, and paid one of my accounts, I was told to call back the next day for my conformation number. I waited two days and called back. I found out that the money I paid on Monday was applied to different account, not my account. So, they quickly said they are working to get this resolved. At the same time, the agent hit my card today for another $76.51 in two trans actions. So not only did they apply my money to an account that did not belong to me, but they charged me three times on the account I tried to pay off on Monday 2-5-18. Now they say they have refunded $35.00 of the $76.51 they stole from me, and say they never charged me $30.51 on my account. I bet they put the $30.51 in a different account as well. So now I must spend time faxing in my bank statement to prove to them that they charged me 3 times on one account. I can't understand how they could hire someone that would make this miss-stake twice in one day. Still waiting to get my money back from Allied.
