"customer service" was very rude. He hung up on me.

I called when the job was not completed. Customer service was very rude and hung up on me. I then called the cancelation line. This guy was very nice. He offered a discounted rate if I approved a 3-year contract. No, thank you. I will cancel next year when my current contract ends.

Lousy customer service system

Tried to schedule a service appointment due to a low battery and outdated panel. First was connected to wrong number after a wait of 30 minutes. Then, was connected to a marketing representative who tried to up-sell a system for over $1000. After another hour, was called back by the service appointment department, which is apparently in Manilla, and the connection was so poor hearing the date and time of the appointment took multiple repetitions. We are long-standing ADT customers, but are paying more for basic service than anything advertised online. Depending upon the results of the service call, cancelling our ADT service and going with one of the EIGHT higher rated services (USA Today) is highly likely.

Poor service/untrustworthy in home sales rep/inferior quality products

The in home sales security rep who was an ex cop had been terminated from 3 departments and charged for criminal activities by at least one possibly two of the depts. The equipment he sold was inferior to what I already had and even though he said would work well I had to purchase other devices which cost me more from a third party. The installer whom he said was the best they had looked like a 3rd grader had done the install. After several calls I did have it corrected. This was a Panama City Beach,Fl incident I talked to area manager who seemed to be somewhat concerned but stated they could really only pass the complaint forward.

ADT will not unlock my panel, for a new company takeover, claiming Northstar has to do it. They bought Northstar!!

My contract with Northstar was ending and I did not want to renew. After contacting them about my decision, I was switched to ADT, because they bought Northstar. I didnt want ADT and cancelled monitoring. I had a new company try to take over my system and was told it was still locked. I called ADT and requested that the panel be unlocked so a different company could takeover and was told they give out codes. The tech said he was a former ADT tech and it isn't a code thing, but they simply unlock the equipment. I tried again to have it taken over and the panel is still locked. When I speak to anyone at ADT, explaining that I can arm and unarm my system just fine, but can not have a new security company take over the systen , they act dumb! I've since heard all sort of excuses like ADT can't do anything because my account is closed, I need to call Northstar to unlock the panel ( Northstar routes you to ADT), , ADT doesn't use my brand of equipment (Honeywell Lytic), even though they easily look y took over my system when they took over Northstar! They lie, stall, and make ish up! You lost a customer that wouldn't have been a customer in the first place and since you aren't making money off me, you don't care. But if I say, I want to renew, you would bend over backwards to get me. If I even remotely felt like using ADT in the future, after this cluster, I wouldn't All I want is to use my equipment as I like, with a company of MY choice!

Billing

No US representatives.Billing messed up. I pay by the year yet they have no record I was told they gave me a courtesy credit. BS! Money drawn from my bank is not a courtesy credit. Locked my price in for the term of my service not honored. I'm told there s taxes and fees..

Cars broken into twice

I was supposed to be protected by ADT and they failed to protect my home. The first time our four cars were broken into we had no notification that someone was in our drive way, the second time same thing no notification, but this time they stole my car!! The video that you will see is from searching it one line. Not a notification from them that anyone was on my property! But yet ADT cant explain why I was not notified. Every time I call they drop my call and get no reply back.. I feel theyve breached there contact and want to cancel but want to charge me 1500 dollars.. I refuse to pay for a service Im not getting. Be aware!!! Service is horrible

Never ordered ADT equipment

I never used their products so it might be the best but I just looked on the website accidentally for to look for medical bracelets that's all.. Tina Coy .!

Very dissatisfied

We had ADT install a security system. The sensors are falling off the doors and the windows after only a month. We called for someone to come and fix the problem, the tech said this is a mess, No kidding. Nothing was done, I told them to take the equipment out and refund me. They refused and said it was past 3 days. They said they would send another tech. What a scam company!! Spread the word, DONT USE ADT!!!

Won't pick Equipment

These people are horrible. I had a trip planned and I also had some Trip's planned and also Medical appointments out of town so I felt the need to have my place secured ADT can't get their customer service together so I got discouraged because they did not deliver the stuff to the right address and it ended up sitting up in FedEx in Port Royal Georgia this is sickening so I called and I canceled it out well I told him in the first place don't deliver any equipment and leave packages on my door cuz people still I come back from out of town and here it is a package from ADT and I'm having one *** of a time trying to get them to come pick up their equipment I'm disabled I will refuse to pick that package up and take it back to FedEx I have called corporate I have let everybody know that I could think of at that company to send somebody to pick up this equipment and they will not do it it's like once they got their dress right they're just going to deliver the stuff whether I was at home or not now if you can't get my address right how are you going to monitor my home correctly I'm sick of it so it will sit there and collect dirt and dust until they come and get it I'm not going to pick it up I'm not taking it back so if they want the equipment they better reach out to me and have somebody to get it do not trust ADT

Cancellation

I called May 18th, 2023 to cancel my Dad's ADT since he passed away. The woman tried to offer me a 30-day complimentary coverage service and I declined it. We got a bill covering until June 17, 2023. I didn't pay it because we declined the "complimentary coverage." He got another bill. The ADT rep I contacted then said you can't break a contract, and you have to honor the 30-day period before they can turn the service off. I said, "so a deceased man has to pay for coverage on a service he isn't using?" What BS!! And why was I told they were stopping the coverage immediately? What a shame when a dead man's estate has to pay for something he wasn't using and was originally told it was taken care of. I was never thrilled with ADT's customer service when he was alive, so this was just icing on the cake!

I'm being charged for an ADT security system and I have not got it

They claim I got my package and I didn't they but they took a report to investigate. Their advice was that if I didn't pay for the addt system that came then they're going to send me to collections

Poor service by technician

A tech guy installed a touch pad control panel. As soon as he left the panel started throwing faults. The guy said he could " possibly" come by the next day to fix it. He never did. ADT used to be an awesome alarm company. They really need to work on better customer service and technicians.

Intimidation Tactics Used To Prevent Cancellation

My 81 Year old mother called in to ADT to cancel the service she has been using for the past 10 years. They would not allow her to cancel and would not allow her to talk to a supervisor. Now I am calling. The first time... after hitting about 10 prompts to get to the cancellation department I was disconnected. I am now calling for a second time and have been on hold for a half hour. So there are so many people calling to cancel at 8:30 on a Wednesday night it requires a 45 minute hold. So since I am going to be on hold I figured I should use this time wisely to write a review about their terrible customer service. My mother doesn't even use the service... she just likes it when it tells her the door is opening. $50.00/month for that??? They also will not upgraded her 10 year old equipment, and when the 10 year old equipment fails they want to charge for a visit. Well as I continue to hold... I guess I will cut and past this review to other websites. I better not get disconnected after holding all this time... and let them try to intimidate me... Cause you got the right one Baby!!!

I tried to end my contract and now they want $1700.00 ! Like *** A company that tries to pretend as if you are treated with respect. Not.

Refusal to cancel service while outside contract window.

ADT This company refused to cancel my service despite being outside of the contract window. I had to make 4 different attempts to cancel my monitoring services over the course of 10 months. They continued to charge me and each attempt was met with incompetent reps that seemed to be reading from prompt cards instead of helping me with the issue. Long conversations with redirection and excuses on why they can't do anything with reassurances that this time it will be different. Once the company actually cancelled my service I was told I needed to pay 95$ to bring everything current and it would be done. No. 4 months later I receive a collection notice for $85. ADT will continue to charge you and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. There's no action you can take. If you are currently a customer then when you go to cancel don't do it over the phone. Do it over email so there is a paper trail and you can substantiate your claim. I lost over $700 to this company plus several $25 returned payment charges due to someone changing my account information after my first cancelation attempt. I just paid the collection and pray this is over. I'm posting this everywhere I can. Absolutely ridiculous.
