Negligence

They are building a new development in Pensacola Fl Nautical Landing and since they started building and cutting trees and moving dirt and sediment , all that sediment ended up on my property and destroyed my landscape and sunroom , but the worst part is that not once they came over to assess the damages, only thing I got from an engineer is that it was bad rain, never happened before they started building. I wish somebody from Adams Homes, the CEO, if he see the pictures I have from the damage, he realize that they messed up.

ADAMS HOMES ARE A JOKE

I just moved into a rental and I regret this. First of all the A/C unit is upstairs instead of the attic so when it comes on it loud so my kids have to close there door & can't watch movies in the gameroom. 2nd the washroom is upstairs which is fine if all the bedrooms was upstairs. Go figure!! 3rd The back porch light shines into my tiny master bedroom at night. Now I need black out curtains. There is no closet downstairs for basic needs. But it's 2 linen closets & a walking under the stairs closet upstairs. That's dumb. Also they put a light switch in the middle of the wall in the living room can't put a picture on the wall because of that. Then the kicker is the back door opens outward so I can't out a screen door WTF.?!?!. The dumbest design ever! Fire your design team. I want the owner to sue them. The design is *** Oh! and one more thing they put white tile all thru the house.. Why not laminate wood, way better look & don't have to mop everyday.

Breach of Contract

Our contract addendum says we paid extra for "Fantasy Brown Granite" counters. We found out from the installing company that "Fantasy Brown is marble, not granite. Adams Homes has stone walled us and refuses to comply with their contract. They are advertising, in multiple states and developments, that Fantasy Brown is granite. False and misleading advertising.

A 3rd party that Adams Homes brought in sided with me. The reports states it needs fixed. They still refuse to do anything.

Original review Feb 05, 2023
I purchased my home in North Port Florida. New construction moved in May 2021. By October 2021 the garages was covered in cracks, there are cracks that run throughout the entire house. They offered to covered up the cracks with epoxy I told them no I wanted it fixed. They have refused to fix the problem.

Pissed off home owner

We closed June 1 and it has been like pulling teeth to get them to come out and fix things. I have to call or email at least once a week. People say they are going to get things done but it takes me getting pissed and staying on their backs and most of the time they don't show up. I wish I would have never bought this house

Poor quality, even worse customer service

We bought in Dawsonville, GA. They say one thing & then walk back on it. Get EVERYTHING in writing!! Getting them to communicate anything is a challenge - many months in & no close date in sight. The quality of workmanship is worse than appalling & they use our home as a trash can - the WHOLE thing!

New Construction Contract after money paid.

Executed a contract with earnest money. Informed structure to be completed Nov 2021. As of March 2022 new construction has not begun. Received email 10pm a week ago indicated they were kicking us out of the contract. We were not given a reason. Need attorney to determine if this is legal.

Crooked

I signed a contract over a year ago.... house is not complete and now that material costs have risen, they suddenly want $50,000 more above our original agreement. They are using a labor shortage clause. It may hold legally but morally they are corrupt.... STAY AWAY FROM ADAMS. You will not get what you pay for.

Stay Away from Adams Homes

If I knew now what I would have experience with Adam's home, I would have never signed a contract. I signed for a new home in the Waterstone development in Ft. Pierce Fl in February 2021. They told me it would take about 7 months to build. It is now February of 2022 and still no house. There were months where nothing was done in the house at all not one contractor. They kept blaming covid. I have worked in construction myself and know what it takes to build a home and how long it takes. This company does nothing but string you along with false hope and say thank you for your patience. I have been lied to by their representatives on several occasions. We were told well you will close in December, then definitely January, then definitely the first week of February and now we got an email from the closing department yesterday saying we are closing next week so I made arrangements. I got a call this morning saying, "sorry we made a mistake, and it was the wrong address". They refuse to pay for any of the expenses that I have now occurred due to their idiocy. Stay as far away from this builder as possible.

Poor management

From the very beginning of the home buying process, there has been numerous communication problems with Adams Homes. It seemed like we had to fight in order to get basic information about our build. Our 1st walk through was an absolute joke, since the house was not prepared and nothing was completed. During the second walk through it was the same situation. When we finally closed on the house and moved in, we found out that the hot water wasn't even wired, so we had to call for emergency electrical assistance to rectify the situation. Now that we have moved in, there has been ongoing issues including a shower that is leaking, a nail that sticks out of our staircase, painting issues and mismatched carpets in some rooms. It honestly feels like a lot of Adams Homes employees simply do not take pride in their work.

Blatant discriminatory treatment

Building of our home in Stoney Run has been a nightmare, full of untruths and misleading information. The construction of our has been prolonged and among this, another home has been built behind mine, an easement has been added to our property, and the home has been built from the middle of the property to very close to the street to allow for the easement. None of this was shared with me until the neighbors told me and I asked the Community Manager about it. We were told in April our home would be ready by September. It was not even started until September and needless to say, it still isn't ready. The first statement after I complained was "do you want out of your contact?" I was totally outdone with that statement since I have been tied to this property since April, in an apartment with a lease, and 5 storage units I have. I am also mailing a letter to Mr. Adams in Golf Breeze, FL.

They are THREATENING me for my equity and haven't even started my house yet

we signed 02/14/2021 and was told that permits are being submitted. found out they didn't own the lot and its now 10 months later and they are telling us either let go of the house or pay us 60% of your equity which equals to 38k. and theyre saying oh if we dont lay the foundation within 6 months we can cancel the contract. they didnt even own the property within 6 months of our contract. they just got the permits to build a month ago and they had this planned all along. the GM DON from spring hill FL said we might jack it up again too or just cancel ya!. i suggest going with someone else because they didnt even build my house yet and they did it on purpose so they can take our equity.

Adams Homes issues in Charleston Place Crestview Fl

I signed up to build a home in Charleston Place Crestview FL in Feb 2021. As of Oct 2021 I still don't have a foundation. Adams told me I would close on my home in Oct of 2021. Now they tell me it will be March 2022 due to rain. the problem is, my cousin signed with Adams homes in the same community weeks after I did and his home is near completion. Also, Adams has completed spec homes already which haven't been sold yet. They are good with the excuses but not good with keeping their word.

Horrible builder

Do not have a home built by adams homes! Once you close you better make sure everything is perfect or you will be sol. I have had so many problems with my home it is ridiculous! Frame cracks, ants, army worms, nail pops, leaks, sloppy paint jobs and even a cat in my wall! The warranty department is a joke and refuses to take responsibility or action for most things even if you have proof and written notices from outside companies. The only good thing I have to say about my experience is how well Kim Amerson and Matt have tried to rectify what is in their power to do. Mostly all I have gotten from this builder is a head ache starting from a week after our contract was signed. They also state that your rate is locked when you go under contract however, they do not tell you they will do anything in their power to get you to back out of the contract if they can get more money for the property from someone else. They originally told us our closing date would be the beginning of august then a week later moved it up to June! We figured it out and made the arrangements to move in June the once it got here they moved the date back to the end of July. The week of closing they tried to push it back again. The building process was rushed which might be why there are so many problems with the house. Worst home buying experience ever and I will never use them again.
