Terrible hosting service

A good client moved to Abaco last year and immediately became almost impossible to serve. After lengthy joint phone calls we got things working. Now there is need a few months later for new pages, and I can't login with FTP. And there is nowhere on their "Help" links to talk to a human. This is costing me valuable time, and possibly costing my client important sales. When dealing with other hosting providers like GoDaddy, 1and1 or Network Solutions, there is always someone available to answer the tech questions. With Yahoo’s Abaco system there is an obvious effort to force the user to do their own research. It is like being lost in a hall mof mirrors. The current problem is not solved after struggling 2 days with an effort to get answers.

Poor Customer Service

Tried to do a change of ownership and ended up losing most of the business email accounts associated with the domain name. I have been calling for over a month trying to get this issue rectified with no avail. Every time I call in I am being asked the same questions as if the company doesn't communicate with one another. Meanwhile we are still being charged with no service. I was told this matter would be resolved in 30 days, almost 2 months later no resolution and poor customer service. I asked for a refund or credit for the weeks of non service and was met with a harsh no. I am looking to take my business elsewhere if this matter isn't resolved by October 1st.

Aabaco deleted and lost our domain

We purchased a domain through Aabaco (Yahoo small business) and we registered the business and filed an LLC for the company. We then created an ad campaign for the company with filmed commercial, radio ads, reserved time on cable channels and local radio stations at a substantial cost, web advertisements and lined up suppliers and buyers through Shopify, Facebook, Amazon and Google. The day we were ready to launch the website, there was NO link to upgrade and open the website for hosting through the Aabaco (Yahoo small business) portal control panel. We contacted Aabaco (Yahoo small business) for tech support. They assured us that the problem was technical issue and they would resolve it within a matter of hours. Two hours later I received an email from Aabaco (Yahoo small business) notifying me that I was refunded the amount we paid for the domain ($22) and our domain was deleted. We contacted Aabaco (Yahoo small business0 and were told they had "lost" the website and were trying to retrieve it and we would have to wait 24-48 hours before we could purchase the domain back. Each hour we are losing money, credibility, potential business and projected profits. In the meantime an army of advertisers, I.T. personnel, graphic artist and customer reps sit and wait for Aabaco (Yahoo small business) to "hopefully" find the domain they deleted and lost. And while the tech support reps at Aaabco (Yahoo small business) apologizes for the "inconvenience" and says they "understand" the position they put me and my company in, they continued to assure me that my "case" has been expedited and is being worked on. This is something we have heard several times in the past two days and yet our domain is still lost and we are hemorrhaging money. My suggestion is, if at all possible, use any web hosting company other than Aabaco (Yahoo small business), their name says it all....small business....

Cannot get refund for services not provided.

After my web hosting service expired a few months ago I chose not to renew it. After my domain registration (which I also had with them) recently expired, I tried to renew it and was advised that to do so I had to reactivate my previous account, both my domain and web hosting service, and get a refund for the web hosting. I did what they advised. It's been two months and after talking to numerous salespeople, all of whom assured me that I would get the refund, no refund has been given. Every time I've emailed or called them I get the same assurances, but nothing ever happens. I've been taken.

Poor and Slow Customer Service - Aabaco

Would never recommend Aabaco, has taken over 48 hours to change login ID for a single domain. Each time I call another Excuse 1 Hour 3 Hours 5 Hours, 13 Hours, 24 Hours, 48 Hours, blaming other vendors, 72 hours. DO NOT for your own sake put your small business in the hands of YAHOO's small business company Aabaco. So after 7 calls, an escalation of one or two times per call and an average of 45 minutes per call, I have now received my next noncommittment for the customer service team. Each occasion the staff does not review the case and states it is much faster for me to re-tell them. Good Luck Michael

Charged me for domain I'd moved

Last year, I found a cheaper registrar for my web domain and, after much difficulty trying to figure out how to move it, I thought I was all through with Aabaco Small Business. Instead, I found that I had been automatically billed through PayPal for a renewal, even though they should have nothing to do with the domain registration anymore. As I'm tired of trying to work through their terrible control panel and customer service, I'll just eat the $35 and hope they don't try to get me again next year. Hopefully, I've canceled my account and payment method properly. Moral: watch out for services that have automatic payment plans.

Poor customer support - moving away from Yahoo

Received email from Yahoo informing us our account was cancelled with a billing notification that was months old passed due. We still have 8 months paid for as part of an annual plan, so this made no sense. Turns out Yahoo decided to assign us to their Web Hosting Advanced plan without our consent, and thus we were behind in our payments.(???) It has been over a week of calling every day, over an hour on the phone each time with long hold times, each time escalating to a manager, each time being told they are working on the issue, and unable to reactivate our account as it was before with just domain registration. As of last night, the only way they could reactivate our account was with web hosting, and promised to correct the services to just domain registration immediately after. We followed their advice, they charged us for the web hosting, and are now unable to update our services back to the just domain registration. DO NOT USE YAHOO FOR DOMAIN REGISTRATION! I am currently researching alternate domain registration companies that have tech support here in the US (instead of India like Yahoo), and can offer much better technical support, no hold times, etc.

Won't return money

Received notices account to be suspended and cancelled if billing not updated. The link to update was unusable. NO contact information can be found for billing...2.5 months later they bill me. After hours of trying to find a phone number in an attempt to get back my 43.95, and nearly 2 hours(!) of explaining and re-explaining (and getting agreement from one CSR that I shouldn't have been billed), they 'don't have the ability' to reverse the charge. REALLY? Then who does? NOPE, just a too bad for you...SOOOOO pissed! Names of contacts: Prince, Arvin (floor supervisor) and Phushal (another floor supervisor). They finally got what they wanted -- I hung up. After all, what's left when they aren't trying to help?

Poors support

The company recently changed its Site Statistics. I need to do a monthly report for my job. I can no longer get monthly totals of site visits or individual page visits. The worst part is I being told to use third party software I can't configure because I have no access to logs. When I submit support request, I'm given links to articles that do not pertain to my issues. They broke what didn't need to be fixed and their support has been poor. I'm now talking with my boss about switching hosts. I can get poor service from free hosting sites. I know, I've done it before. This company isn't worth doing business with in my opinion.

Aabaco charged $34.95 for domain registration without notification 2 weeks before expiration

Aabaco charged me $34.95 for domain renewal 2 weeks before it was set to expire, and they did not notify me that I was going to be billed beforehand. I canceled the plan on the same day, 2 weeks before expiration, and they would not refund me for the pending 12 month period that hadn't even started yet. I called customer service 3 times and also did live chat twice. There was nothing I could do to convince them to refund me. If I would have gotten notification that I was going to be billed, then I could have easily canceled the renewal prior to them charging me. Customer service is worthless, as the call center was clearly overseas, making communication next to impossible.

Horrible Customer Service

Yahoo small business is the most horrible service ever! There is no way to get help. When I call in to get help on customer service, my calls go overseas. I cannot understand what they're saying. When I ask to speak with an English speaking person, they refuse to transfer my calls with going through a million questions. They REFUSE to transfer the calls. Horrible service. Do not USE YAHOO SMALL BUSINESS!!!! I don't understand why companies continue to treat customers with contempt. They shuffle us to overseas people (so THEY save save money) and when we cannot understand them, they refuse to transfer us to an English speaking person.

They can't get my web site running and can't speak English clearly.

They can't get my web site running and can't understand the people I talk to in customer service. Not sure what language they speak but can't understand their English. I am on my third call and have to wait for at least 10 minutes each time I call. This time I am waiting 15 minutes. I am still on hold. I had a web site hosting with them and was re-activated. Was told it should be on again within a few hours but no more than 22 hours. After 24 hours I called again and was told it would be done in less than 2 hours. I waited 3 hours and I am sitting here on hold. Very difficult to communicate with these people.

Aabaco is the worst Internet experience I have had since I started using the Internet in the 1990s

Aabaco seems to be in some transition which causes an email fail literally every few days. This had been going on since November. Customer service is hard to get and clueless. Ironically, I used a Yahoo small business account for several years without any problems at all. Very easy for my small domain and cost effective. When Yahoo transitioned to Aabaco, however, things stopped working. Aabaco apparently does not sync with Outlook - which is ridiculous, as Yahoo/Aabaco email is crude and not useful when nmost businesses are on Outlook. Even with Yahoo mail, the Aabaco mail server crashes repeatedly and requires a complete reconfiguration with new passwords, etc. on the end user side - literally every 7-10 days or so. At this point, I'm just trying to cancel the service and get a refund, which also is not easy. Avoid doing business with Aabaco at all costs.

Aabaco Small Business - YES billing and NO service

Being a long-time Yahoo customer, I thought that my service would continue when then changed to Aabaco Small Business. I WAS WRONG! Even though I was unable to log on since 2014, they continued to charge me anyway. They claim that continuous charges are in their terms of service (what we call an Attractive Nuisance in Alabama because no one reads them and the operator I spoke with intimated that it was a one time charge). DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Being a long-time Yahoo customer, I thought that my service would continue when then changed to Aabaco Small Business. I WAS WRONG! YAHOO AABACO SC*MBAGS

Disabled my Business Email without even sending a courtesy notice. Created a second account missing all Sent messages that looked like it was hacked. When I panicked and tried to call Customer Service YAHOO HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBER. THERE ARE MANY SCAM ARTISTS EXPLOITING THIS YAHOO NEGLIGENCE AND CLAIMING TO BE YAHOO SUPPORT. I had a "Yahoo Support person" logged in to my machine "Helping" me when I figured it out and kicked him off. In other words YAHOO AND AABACO HAND YOU OVER TO HACKERS WHO WILL EXTORT YOU FOR $150. I work with Computers so I was able to figure out what was going on and contact AABACO. The average person is guaranteed to get SCREWED due to the COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE OF YAHOO / AABACO. There is no excuse for this type of UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. All they had to do was send me an Email warning me to contact them or they would disable my account. A TOTAL NIGHTMARE OF AN EXPERIENCE.

Stay Away... Unless you hate yourself...

Our website is not a wordpress site... But, we do maintain a wordpress section on the site. Aabaco does not understand that... The website was built with HTML and PHP coding. It also has some Java. Aabaco calls that a third party... I am not sure were to start I am so irritated with this Host. We have been using Yahoo sense 2009. I cannot say anything special about Yahoo. But, at least things were left alone. When Aabaco took over they changed the accepted Permalinks for wordpress... So anyone who had been maintaining a blog for several years such as us and had chose to use the descriptive text permalink we now left with links that went nowhere. Thats right, every blog written was now dead and all organic traffic to those blogs was now dead... When you call Aabaco their customer service reps are trained not to help you with your issue but to instead say that "your site is a third party site and we cannot help with coding". This response is fine if I was looking for help with coding... But, I would never ask for help from these idiots for that. I simply wanted to point out this huge mistake and have them correct it so that our blog pages would appear once again. Sadly this has not been corrected. The only solution was to change the permalinks to another type ie date... So now our old links are dead and our new links get zero traffic and have no SEO built into the link description... Three months latter... The website forms stop working... Call to Aabaco, they cannot help with third party sites... I try to explain these forms have been working sense they were turned on in 2011. They try to tell me something is wrong with the script... I try to explain the script has not changed... This goes on for a while and finally I give up with their useless brand of help and start to test for issues on my side. I rebuild the forms, I change how the forms are sent, I change out and reduce the emails they go to, I build empty one field form test pages and still nothing is working... I reset back to my original form and call Aabaco again. I seem to have found the needle in the haystack as the guy who answered was quick to tell me that they are having some issues with their SSL and that is preventing emails to be sent... They are working on the issue and keep checking the page... The next morning forms are coming over again... YAY they fixed it. But, how? Well if you use Aabaco you have access to a shared SSL page. When you make use of one of these pages and you access that link on your website your domain is appended with a prefix accessing a SSL server. So instead of website.com/content you have p2.secure.hostingprod.com/@website.com/content (I know, kind of sucks). But, we knew this is what we had and needed some content to be secure so we made use of it. When they "fixed" the SSL issue they did not fix anything they simply moved the SSL to a new server and abandoned the old one. What does that mean? well, instead of p2 now it is p11. Thats right after killing all of our blog links they have now killed all of our secure section links. All content pointing to p2 is now a broken mess setting on a different server. But, hey at least the forms are working again.. Really, that was all we actually care about. We are paying to have people find those forms and fill them out. So we roll forward.. Three months later.. Forms have stopped working again... Now I am familiar with this.. I know what has to be done... How happy the Aabaco person I get will be when they are greeted with a customer who not only knows what has happened but also how to fix it... Right?... Well, lets just say that Aabaco does not support third part websites. Almost an hour going back and forth with the first *** about how this is not a website issue. He eventually agrees to let me speak to his supervisor who is currently on another call but will call me back in an hour. 16 hours latter I stop holding my breath and call them again... This time I sit on the phone awaiting a supervisor... When I get this guy he is missing his ears.. Dont get me wrong I have allot of respect for anyone who is missing something from their body and still making it through life, and feel that they are very capable people and can do allot of greatness in any industry. But, I am not sure if a person who is not capable of listening is the best selection for a customer service supervisor position. I rely explain everything to this guy very clearly and he does not get it. I then ask that they just change the SSL server again. He tells me that that is just not possible. I said you guys have done it before... He says no they have not.. I say get your manager on the phone right now. I am now 1 hour and 45 minuets into this call with Aabaco. On average you will spend a minimum of at least 30 minuets with them so you can see this one has gotten out of hand... The "manager" is still only familiar with the same canned responses that the original customer service had... They do not support third party websites... He again tells me that changing the SSL server is not possible. I had him go to the site and click on a link that goes to a SSL page. He did and could see the page is broken, it is just an outline missing all images and styling. I had him change p11 to p2 and click enter then bypass the security warning. He did. I asked him how the page looks now. He agreed the page is now styled with color and images. He agreed this is proof that the server had indeed changed. Then I asked that he have it changed again. He went on about how there is nothing he can do and he knows no other department that is above him... Apparently I hit the top level of Aabaco. This guy them muted his phone and just sat there... I guess he is not allowed to hangup on irate customers... but he can stop speaking to them.. I told him what a piece of trash he is and hung up the phone. 2 hour phone call and the "manager" stopped speaking to me after 15 minuets... I guess his time is more important than the 7 years we put into a website that they have destroyed...... If you were a Yahoo to Aabaco customer, Im sorry... I feel your pain... I am now going to another host. I did not want to in the past because I was worried about how it would effect wordpress and SSL links... But, it looks like Aabaco already took care of that concern. I am not sure if obscenities are appropriate for this website so I have left them out but if you would like to know how this review should have looked fill in every space with one of your choosing... If this story prevents even one person from going to the even, useless monster that is Aabaco it is worth it. Thanks
