Negative Experience

Spoke to an agent, Tonya, find another travel agent on Friday about an international trip. She said she'd get back to me by Monday. It's now Thursday and I haven't heard a thing despite a message and an email I sent. Will be going to another travel agent

Travel was NOTHING like what we spent money at AAA to have done.

Our trip was booked in October 2022 and travel happened mid-June 2023. Our agent, Terry (Sioux Falls), seemed eager to book; but when questions were raised, he would not respond or was inpatient. Despite having good seats booked ahead of time, we were placed in back rows. No help and misinformed about resort.

The customer service representative had very little experience/information for the cruise line we wanted. I had reservations, but the price she quoted was less than the cruise company's price.

DThe fact that she had little experience/information of the specific cruise line we wanted. Also, when I had to cancel for my husband's health reasons she quoted me a refund amount that was FAR less than we actually received. And trying to reach our AAA representative was problematic as they only have a customer service "hub" so I had to make three calls regarding the refund discrepancy before she finally returned my call. Then she said "well, I told you it was only a refund estimate". Quite a discrepancy!

Not your father’s AAA

If you are expecting a skilled travel agent will smoothly coordinate your trip, you will be overly disappointed. You are placed on hold endlessly, your itinerary is never clearly laid out and when you finally get the 12 separate emails you have to piecemeal the rest yourself. Pathetic. Clueless agents. Worthless service. Should have gone whole thing myself.

The Travel Agents are the pits. -A complete waste of time.

I have tried to use AAA travel agents to help plan (portions of) my trips three times now and they have been not just useless but a complete waste of time. Don't bother scheduling an appointment; they don't actually want to work to help you plan and/or they aren't competent. I can scan the internet myself, but I was looking for some advice and help. I got the feeling all times that if I had just needed their help booking, they would have been more than happy taking a cut of that - but to actually help plan, forget it. They are disinterested and incompetent.

Wouldn't stand behind what they sold.

The resort we stayed at claimed they didn't have our reservation and charged us $750 to stay the night after we had already totally paid for our trip. They will not refund our money and AAA will not even speak to us about it anymore..

Horrible Customer Service

I have been to two local AAA locations asking about travel trips/vacations. Took weeks to get back to me. Complained at both locations. Used the toll free number to book things on-line...again horrible communication. Even when management said they would call me back...no one did.

So disappointed as a AAA member

My 79 year old sister and her 83 year old boyfriend, booked ten day trip to Aruba for 10k. They could not get a breakdown of the costs and were taken advantage of by AAA. They were put in a hotel 9 miles from high rises and had to take a boat to the beach that my sister could not do after a few days because of her back. Our whole family is so angry, as we have all had many trips to Aruba and believe they were taken advantage of, being they are elderly, by AAA. They return to Punta Gorda Florida tomorrow. They should not be allowed to book trips for elderly as they cannot be trusted. So disappointed as a member of AAA.Dont even consider for travel.

The travel company we booked our trip via AAA, Trafalgar, appears will keep over $7,000 of our money. Just before the trip I developed Overactive Autoimmune Disorder causing my feet to blister.

Terrible! The agent is trying her best to help us but is constrained by the policies of the travel company, Trafalgar.

No refund AAA policy

My wife and I booked a UK trip under the illusion we were dealing with a trusted and reputable company,AAA. We paid $9,674.23 in May at the Route 42, Union, Kentucky and wished I never dealt with them. I have Eczema and was willing to deal with the condition with medications prescribed. We were to depart on September but I noticed blisters developing on my feet. The condition grew worse with the blisters turning into open ulcers that bled profusely. It was impossible to wear shoes and I missed family gatherings over the holidays. We had no choices but to cancel until a later date after I healed. My dermatologist conducted a biopsy and it was determined to be Overactive Autoimmune Disorder. I am currently on Dupixent receiving 2 shots monthly. I am told to expect positive results in 3 months. We were under the impression our travel protection policy we purchased through AAA would take effect and refund our money. Wrong! To date received a voucher from the travel company Trafalgar for $3,997.22 leaving a deficit of $5,677.01. The explanation from the insurance company,Aon, was this was a preexisting condition not covered under terms of the policy. First off this is a separate condition from Eczema and did not occur until August. The agent filed a claim and appeal for us but to date we have not heard any response from anyone. Im 71 and running out of time to take this trip and it appears we are going to suffer over $5,000 penalty for getting sick. Youve been warned!

Stole my money

I booked a trip with a group of people. I cancelled 3 months before the trip due to illness. AAA Member Choice Vacations through Collette Travel gave my deposit and 1/2 of my trip fee to another traveler instead of refunding me the money I paid. They told me to find that person and get the money from them. I warn you DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE! They are crooks. I am out well over $1000 and I am pissed off!

A.A.A. Membership crooks. They are just like the rest of the Organization... all the way to the top; including President Condon. The local service representatives, are as unhelpful as the ones sitting on the phone at home "working" as the dog is barking in the background. No authority, provided with no information; and no leadership. They ripped me off on a 3 year membership; and are now backtracking by saying they are saving the environment buy giving us a new card every 3 years, when I already had paid for 3 years, and they now say I have only been a member for 1 year. I am almost 73 now. I even had car insurance with them when I lived in California, and Tennessee in 1975. Their trip tics are a joke. Their service is terrible; and they have been completely irrelevant for years. I want to point out that when I was in the office, they told me they "did NOT CARE". In fact : since GPS; and Google maps, they are almost completely useless. most insurance companies have better services. Also, the discounts are hotels are nothing compared to Veterans discounts, Senior discounts, rewards points, rental car discounts; and Hotels.com, ETC. Their customer service is NO services at all! Their saving the environment (new excuse for ripping you off; is a TOTAL farce and a way to steal from older people who are traditionally hung up on the FORMERLY great service their own parents received in the 60's and 70's. Their primary focus now is to maintain jobs for people who should , for the most part be on Jenny Craig, as opposed to consuming mass quantities of bad food. The excuses they give after you are conned by them' are the TOOLS OF INCOMPETENCE. There is more plastic in the cola bottle; or Gatorade bottles on their desks; than in those cards. For the most part it is nothing more than a campaign to keep people at work; that could otherwise NOT find a job; and keep moving locations in the process. My recommendation is NEVER to use them again; or to begin with; and also report them to the proper oversight committees, for mail fraud, and delivering false products into commerce. Their towing companies now are so poor that they have to run repair shops to supplement their businesses. THEY ARE A misleading group of predators on an unaware public. Just like The A.A.R.P. Most of the above is primarily the fault of the #fraudulentadvertising corporate, greedy junk mail litterers, and shysters. #whatafreakingJOKE! #nohelpfortheirvictims. Just look at their ratings!!! NO WONDER they are desperate enough to rob us Seniors. Thank you, and good luck. Barry Snyderour money; it is a scam.Save y
