Poor Merchandise Quality and Even Worse Customer Service

Ordered a Gardenia Plant for a loved one who absolutely loves the exquisite smell of the gardenia flower. The gardenia sent by 1-800 Flowers did not have any buds, it had no flowers, and it had yellowing leaves. Clearly, the plant was not what had been advertised. Upon receipt, contacted 1-800 Flowers who informed me that they would get back to me; they never did. After disputing the credit card charge, I was informed that my dispute was denied because I didn't sent the plant back to them ... how was I to know since they never responded. Never again with this merchant - buyer beware!

Tried to simply order flowers for Mothers Day

udid not arrive on day asked for in order (wasn't even the weekend). never got an update. Called they said it would arrive the next day. it did, with HORRENDOUS 'are you kidding me' mold all over the flowers. Unusable. Called they said they would upgrade the flowers and priority deliver. This never happened after 3 days. Called and they said the product they upgraded wasn't available (I didn't choose it, they did). they gave me no updates via text, email or when I log into my account. Just was open and in a black hole. So they ordered for delivery again and said in 30 minutes I'd see it in my ordered products. Nope, a day later, no order, no email. nothing. so I called again. they had issues with their system (which also happened days earlier) where they could not see my order history and access the system to take action. So after hours, 5 calls, a week...still no confirmation that an order has been put in.

I know how this sounds. It just feels like a ripoff.

I know its part of their business model but it just seems like a ripoff when they pull a switcheroo on you and send some random thing instead of what you ordered. For the sake of honesty, they should not have listings for specific products. The listing should just straight up have random item listed. If they dont have what they advertise, they should contact you and ask if its okay to substitute. I wont be able to place more orders with 1-800-flowers knowing that there is no reasonable expectation of getting what you ordered and paid for.

Not what was ordered

Updated by user May 19, 2023
The recipient gave me the name and phone for the local florist. They don't know why the wrong bouquet was sent but made it up by immediately sending a beautiful bouquet to my friend. I went on their site and told the whole story including how they made it very right!I...

Placed order for roses and lavender in clear pretty vase for same-day delivery with text notifications of out for delivery and delivery. Order was not delivered. No texts were received. They agreed to refund the $21 extra fee for the delivery and to re-send the order. It arrived late the second day and was NOT what I ordered. The florist sent purple daisies and white carnations in one of the cheap ugly green vases that sell 10 for a dollar at second-hand stores. And those flowers I could have gotten at the grocery store. They are now offering to send roses, but they can't deliver them until the 25th. I appreciate the offer to make it right because - And This Is Important - it is the florist's fault for sending the wrong thing. They cannot tell me what local florist was used, so I can't complain directly to them to make it right. For this reason, never ever again will I use this service. Picture is what I ordered v what I got.

AWFUL customer service!!!

My husband ordered flowers for Valentines Day Delivery. Flowers were never sent, although there was a pending charge on our VISA for a week, for $155.49, proving that an order was placed. He called twice and got nowhere on top of being in the dog house since it appeared he forgot Valentines Day. I have since called 4 times asking questions and trying to have someone at least acknowledge there was an error and be apologetic and professional. My last call in lasted over 45 minutes, without any satisfactory explanation! This now boils down to customer service and principle!!! 1) The customer service order 30445****, does not exist, so "sorry we can't help you!" 2) Flowers were not delivered, yet there was a pending charge on our visa for over a week. "So why are you upset, the pending charge did disappear after a week?" 3) If the order number does not exist, and the order could not be tracked to my husband, David Crawford or his cell phone or the address the flowers were to be delivered to or my name, WHY was there a pending charge on our credit card?

Flowers were not delivered on anniversary

Flowers that were advertised on website and ordered 1 week prior to actual delivery date was not delivered for my wife's anniversary. Customer service did the best job they could do but the flowers did not show up. My order was credited back in 1 to 2 billing cycles , whatever that means. Very disappointed for the second time . Will not order again.

The entire process was a disaster. No flowers delivered to the funeral. I was not notified until viewing already started. On hold several times with no answer, redirected several times. Not until

No flowers were delivered. They never told me that they didn't find anyone in the area who could do the flowers. Imposdble time trying to speak with anyone who could give me answers. Terrible customer service. They kept adding extra charges when ordering. They put you on hold endlessly. What a miserable experienceexperience.

Order Framework And Process

I ordered my arrangement on December 11, 2022 for delivery on December 14, 2022. On December 14th between 11:00 a.m. and 11;30 a.m. I am personally at the delivery location and I call 1800Flowers. I wanted them to tell me an approximate delivery time as to whether it will be morning or afternoon. In this conversation, I requested the telephone number of the florist that they subcontracted the job to, so that I could call the florist directly. 1800Flowers said no to that request and told me that they would call the florist and then get back to me. At 1:00 p.m. I had not heard back from 1800Flowers, so I looked at my e-mail and saw that 1800Flowers had sent me an e-mail at 11:28 a.m. that said a delivery had been attempted but not completed and that they would contact me if they needed more information. Because I had been at the delivery location between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. personally and no one attempted to make a delivery, I knew that the 11:28 e-mail from 1800Flowers was a false e-mail. Therefore, I immediately called 1800Flowers again and told them that no delivery had been attempted and that I wanted the telephone number of the actual florist. I was given the name and telephone number of the florist. In addition, 1800Flowers told me that they would process a replacement order to the same florist subcontractor. At 1:33 p.m. I called the florist and was told that they would call their driver and then get back to me to tell me when the delivery would actually occur. The florist did not call me back in a timely manner, so I called the florist again at 3:00 p.m. This time the florist gave me a song and dance that the driver had gone home sick and it would be December 15th before they could deliver my order. I told the florist that I would be at their shop on December 15th to pick up the order myself and to call me when it was ready. On December 15th the florist had not contacted me by 12:00 noon, so I called them again. They said that my order was ready and that I could come pick it up. I drove to the florist and picked up my order. The arrangement was beautiful and well done, so the good news was that the final product exceeded expectations. style="background-color: What is not acceptable is how much work and effort I had to exert as the customer to actually get my order in my hands. In addition, the order was one day late and the whole process and its convoluted structure is a breeding ground for false information and customer dissatisfaction.

Pissed off first time customer!!!!

I ordered a spray of flowers for a dear friends funeral 2 days ago. They were supposed to be delivered yesterday. They have not been delivered. The funeral is today. I contacted customer service and they confirmed the flowers had not been delivered and would try again today before the service at 11:00am. I wish I had NEVER ordered from them. This was my first time ordering from them and this is my experience so far!!! Oh they are quick to apologize but obviously cant get anything else right!!!

Took My Money Never Delivered Trying to Get Refund for 1 Month and Counting

I made a purchase using a Honey coupon. Money was withdrawn from my account and promptly received message of confirmation of order with indication that I would receive a delivery notice. No delivery notice was received and upon investigation I was told they couldn't deliver. I proceeded to request a refund and through "many" emails and phone calls (spoke with 11 people so far) and promises to return my phone calls (never happened) to resolve, I "still" haven't been able to get my refund. They seem disorganized, confused, said they couldn't figure out what was going on (got emails for orders to "my" email address for someone else), claimed they were recording all our conversations yet every time I had to again call them, I had to start over. On one occasion, I was told they documented our conversation, were going to send me an email both demonstrating the conversation and "promise" to refund. Never received the email and, of course, never received the refund. Do NOT waste your time nor put yourself through the aggravation of ordering from them. I intend ultimately to dispute through my payment method if it appears I've exhausted all efforts by trying to get them to refund voluntarily and report them to the Better Business Bureau. But clearly they don't care and I'm going to be in for an even longer battle to resolve this. But "I'm" not giving up!

Mothers Day Fiascos

Updated by user May 09, 2022
It appears that they have charged me for the 'replacement' order. I tried to get a confirmation on customer service chat for an hour.

The CSR was evasive, only reported facts that I could see on the order screen. When I asked for them to answer my questions about the...

We placed two orders for Mothers Day. Both orders were to be filled and delivered May 6th, 2022 (Friday before Mothers Day). One order was marked confirmed but we never got confirmation. The second order was confirmed and then we received the delivery confirmation. On Mothers Day we first learned the first order (confirmation only) was never delivered. A few hours later we learned the other (the one with the delivery confirmation) was not delivered either! The two addresses are on opposite sides of the U.S. so this cannot simply be a bad local florist.

Computer Glitch-Filipino Customer Service

Original review May 02, 2022
I was ordering flowers on their site and they charged me sales tax. I live in Montana and they do not have sales tax here. In fact, Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, Oregon, and Montana are the 5 states that should not be paying any tax on any sales. But they apparently dont know that. I called to complain and get Filipino customer service reps that have no idea what a state is, or who I can talk to about their computer glitch. Since each state has different sales tax percentages, they just pop some figure out of the air I guess. One of the perks of being a resident of my state is that we have no sales tax. After talking to 3 different Filipinos, I was told to pay for my order, then send them an email complaint, and then they would review it and credit my account. I did this once before in December 2020. They said that they would adjust their system, but they still havent. I buy items from several different companies over the internet, and not one charges me sales tax. Their system sees that the billing goes to MT and I am not charged. Why cant this place figure it out?

Ruined my name and my word with their incompetence

Will absolutely NEVER order from them again! Ordered flowers on the 26th for my girlfriend to give her dying mother to be delivered on the 28th by 8 pm. Due to Covid, she's not been allowed to visit so I thought it might make her feel better if a piece of her was there since she couldn't be. The flowers never showed up. Had a confirmation email, was able to track the order, and still showed up in the system but they cancelled the order due to "suspected fraudulent email". What the *** is fraudulent email? And they never even contacted me to tell me that the order was cancelled. No call. No email. Nothing. They called in immediate family today to say their goodbyes. So she's there now and noticed the flowers never came. The first representative I spoke to offered to call her and let her know why the flower delivery was canceled. So his solution was to call someone who is sitting at the bedside of their dying mother to tell them that they canceled the flowers due to fraudulent email. He wanted to interrupt her time to explain this nonsense instead of just sending me an email so that I could screenshot it and send it to her about what happened. The second representative did a replacement order and took a whole $6 off my order. Six dollars. Now the delivery is supposed to be tomorrow sometime between 9:00 and 5:00. This woman is dying and the one thing I could offer my girlfriend to console her is these flowers. She could be dead tomorrow. So she's upset and I'm made to look like I canceled the order and just reordered last minute. My name and my word is at stake here. She's not even speaking to me now. So I asked the representative what happens if she's dead tomorrow when the flowers arrive and there's nowhere to deliver them to because she's in a morgue? This woman told me she's going to pray. She totally admitted fault on the company's behalf, but the price of my word and my name is $6. The one thing I could have done for my girlfriend in this time, and I let her down. The company won't get blamed for this, I will. So I'm telling everybody now, you take a gamble on if your flowers are going to be delivered and you won't even know anything about it if they cancel because they don't inform you. I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and every website I can find. They will right this wrong. At this point I shouldn't have to pay anything. And whoever the person was who canceled my order without informing me should be terminated. I plan to take this as far as it'll go.

THEY ARE THE WORST!!!

Original review Feb 07, 2022
The only reason I'm not giving them 1 star across the board is because some of the people I spoke to were nice but the reason I had to speak to so many of them is because they messed up my order EVERY SINGLE TIME! I don't even know what the odds of that are. I even bought a Celebration Passport so I could order different types of things during this pandemic since I could not attend events in person because I'm immunocompromised. And the 2nd order I placed did not give me free shipping so I had to call them and get that straightened out too. I ordered a gift basket for an 85 yr old family friend and it did not arrive on the day it was supposed. to. Can you imagine being that age and a widower and having to wait for something someone said would arrive on a specific day and it doesn't? Then I ordered a popcorn basket for a friend's bday and expected it would arrive on her actual bday which is what I chose and it arrived two days early. Not the most exciting way to celebrate the actual day. My friend had a death in the family so I sent flowers and she sent me a photo and it LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE $94 I spend on an arrangement. It was full of daisies and carnations which we all know are not expensive flowers. I called to complain and so they redelivered something the next day - TO THE WRONG ADDRESS!!! My poor friend assumed it went so her address but South, not North which was specified so offered to drive over there in the rain. I called again and they replaced it again but every time it was with something cheaper as they accounted for the shipping when they were the ones that got the shipping wrong to begin with. The final product arrived 5 days later!!! And the very last straw, I ordered a fruit basket for a friend who was only in town for a weekend for her mother's funeral. I wanted to make sure she and her family had some healthy things to eat because they were staying at a hotel. I tripled checked and called PRIOR to the delivery to make sure there would be no hiccups and sure enough, I never got a delivery confirmation so called customer service and the automated system said it was transferring me and hung up on me instead THREE TIMES! I had to call the hotel and they had no record of it. I called the ordering line for 1-800 Flowers and of course someone picked up then and they said it was delivered but it was almost midnight by then so couldn't text my friend and ask. Also, who wants to text the recipient and ask if they got a gift just because the service is so unreliable. Anyway, I asked why I didn't get an email confirmation as I had the other times and I was told I did. I asked what email it was sent to and they said xxxyyy@***.com! That is not my email and looks like a fake email if I ever saw one and feels like a total lie and cop out on their part. I would never had ordered again after the 2nd snafu were it not for my being offered extra miles through my credit card company. I would NEVER recommend using them otherwise! UPDATE: As if things could get worse, I get a message from my friend as shes on her way to the airport saying thanks for the fruit basket she JUST got. The one they claimed was delivered on Friday. She cant fly with fruit! It was meant for her and her family to have while they were staying in the hotel having flown in for her mothers funeral. When I called them AGAIN, they said it was in fact delivered on Friday and received at the hotel by someone named Chris. I didnt trust them as Id spoken to the hotel manager and he seemed very competent so I asked them to check again and they said it was a FedEx delivery which they dont have control over and it was in fact delivered Sunday morning. I had called to confirm it could be delivered on time a week ago!!! Then I asked for a refund and they said they could refund half. Ridiculous! Not until I literally lost my temper did they agree to refund me. How does one company screw up 4 orders in a row?? NEVER EVER AGAIN! I hope no one goes through what I had to with these fools
